Benihana - Miami Beach Ratings and Reviews
The door greeters were flat faced, expressionless and proceeded to discuss a internal conflict matter in front of us when our table was already ready. Whoever you have at the front door is your brand. The waitress was clueless and rude. Terrible experience. My daughter didn’t eat a thing, they did my daughter’s birthday surprise after I waited forever after our “meal” ( appetizer sashimi was still partially frozen ) and finally had to use the bathroom. Great. Missed the Happy Birthday song. Thanks a lot. If we could get a refund and never go back that would be our dream.
Kids love this place. Chef started 2 weeks ago and was not funny. He left his funny pants at home. Maybe a bit nervous? He need to retake BH comedy 101! Would have been great if he interacted with the kids. Food was good though! Server was amazing and sweet (future teacher)!
The kids loved it, and theft wss entire point in going. The restaurant is very dated and smells of grease, although it's on the water you can't see out the windows, the fan over your head sounds like a motor of a small plane, and I don't like sitting with a bunch of strangers.
I took a close friend here for her birthday dinner with colleagues. It was her first time at a Benihana and she beyond enjoyed herself. The chef who worked with us, Tony, was friendly and amiable and did his best to accommodate our party of 7. I would definitely dine here again!
The chef and manager we wonderful. Our waiter tried to overcharge us and he practically called me an idiot until I asked to see the menu and the manager.
For the same food I can drive an extra 10 minutes and be in Ft. Lauderdale where I have never had an issue with the server.
Went first into the lower bar area but could not get waited on. Our reservation time was honored and sat down for a celebratory meal. The air conditioner was dripping water on me the whole time. Our chef was insulted by one of the other patrons and was clearly upset although he came around toward the end of the meal. Our drink person had to be hunted down to get another drink and when the end of the meal came around he was nowhere to be found. They sang happy birthday to my daughter which was very nice but that was the best part of the meal. We did have a pleasant time leaving. It will take a while for me to return.
Benihana's is supposed to be known for their food and Dinner Show the food was good but there was no show I've been to Benihana's before there wasn't a single Asian person in the place. You didn't have the atmosphere of a Japanese restaurant at all not worth what we spent will not go again.
I haven't been to this location since 1986 and it looks exactly the same. Not an upgrade or renovation. There were portable AC machines everywhere. I asked the chef who was super fun and did a great job cooking and entertaining us what the deal was with the AC. He said they are planning to upgrade. It was not hot but just ugly. They need to close, tear the place down and rebuild. Benihana has a reputation and if they want to keep it they need to bring their restaurants (the Fort Lauderdale location too) into the 21st century! I won't be going back.
It was my first time and maybe last . We were celebrating 2 birthdays I put notes in my OT reservation but nobody even acknowledge the fact. Service is ok ,the whole place feels dated and old. It really needs a face lift. Food was best part but not as expected.
The food is great here. Service is always the same. Lacking attention to customers. I understand the process here. Although they lack customer service. As a server i always tip 20% and i still did today because who knows how they pay out at this restaurant. The cook was fine, sometimes better than others. Most of the time I haven't had a "great" show. Usually it's been 2 jokes and shows here and there and that's all. Nothin fun! I don't mind that. What i mind is the service. It takes forever for the drink order. They never know what they have available at the bar. And after the drink order it takes forever for them to come back and clear plates and ask if we want a refill or another drink. That is so important. To ask if everything is okay or any other needs. You don't come back 20 mins later to ask if you want some more water or another drink.no! Ugh. So disappointing. It's always the same here with service. They are always busy and hurried. Get more employees pleaae.
We have been fans of this location for years, but lately, it seems that they are lacking a bit, when it comes to customer service and cleanliness of the interior. Also, this last time that we visited, they were remodeling the outside, so the terrace was out of limits. Inside, the noise produced by portable AC units, was not pleasant, and the inside, felt a little too hot for comfort.
This was horrible definitely not Authenticate habachi they have the name and location but food is terrible not a real habachi place at all I was amazed they didn't even have real sushi just imation fish in it yuck yuck habachi guy didn't even do tricks just scared us with knives and loud banging not one Asian in the place beside hostess I came for the experience and left with a huge bill for nothing
Never recommend. Terrible. Long time to just order drinks. Then had to wait for table to be full before taking orders. I am vegetarian but eat fish. Others ordered chicken rice for extra charge. I did not. Cook mixed my rice with chicken and I had to wAit for kitchen to make me new which took 20 min at least! I ordered shrimp for main dinner. Others at table asked for their shrimp "appetizer" extra garlic and butter. Cook made my main shrimp dinner same way which was not happy. Put tons of butter in it I did not want. Couldn't handle individual orders and all for a couple of guys that were requesting a lot ! Not a good place if entire table doesn't eat same way. And the veggies came after everyone was done with meal as he burnt the first time and had to remake. Comedy of errors
