I always bring out of town guests but I was so disappointed tonight. The food and the service were both excellent. The problem began when a large party was being “seated” at the ten top facing us. There were more people than seats at their table and they needed ours. Well, guess what? We were still eating. For 45 minutes, the adults lurked over us, and the children ran around the table, which became more than uncomfortable. The server even managed to take their orders and they were not sitting yet. It makes no sense at all that the restaurant would take a large party up and attempt to seat them when the needed number of chairs is not available. The guests were then allowed to loiter around the table staring at us and wishing up to finish quickly. When the manager was advised, her response was that her shift had just begun and that she knew nothing. Thanks for walking upstairs and looking into the situation. Very disappointing.
Belated Mother’s Day . Food was good the waiter never came back to see if we wanted another drink or water. We were never asked if we wanted ice cream which came with the meal. We were given the check and sent in our way. The chef was fantastic
We had a 7:30 reservation. Sat down at 7:45 Didn’t start cooking until 9:30. The bus boys Never come by the table to offer us more water etc. Very dissatisfied.

Worst experience in 20 years dining at Benihana.
Reservation was at 10PM. Arriving before our time and still waiting 30 minutes to be seated, while empty tables and no customers dining or waiting.
Once seated, another 35 minutes waiting for drinks and soup and salad.
We, all at the table complaint and manager, when evident we had spent an entire hour waiting for service, whit stone face told that “according the computer we only waited 30 minutes” May be Benihana need to change computer for a cloak…. or replace the one managing computers or clocks.
Fruit on the cake, ceiling air extractor over the table start dripping oil before preparing meals. We all had to move to a different table to receive service again.
Waitress approach later with a message of the manager saying that some staff to be cut of our bill as complementary for the inconvenience...
…Guess what.., bill was in full, manager vanished
The chef did not perform as he was cooking the meal in front of us. He simply cooked and served the meals to us. Missed a very big part of why we go to hibachi.
Food was the only good part.. Restaurant is very run down, leaking roof, paint coming off ceiling, dirty carpet and unswept floors. Service was below average due to a lack of attention and was charged incorrectly. Food and prep was good. Front driveway floods out during the rain.. Might go back to Benihana but definitely not this location.
First time that our expirience there was questionable, the service was too fast, after waiting for sushi the waiter comes and tells us that sushi bar is closed, after asking the chef like we always do for a fee changes in my mothers meal, it was terrible anyway, my mothers birthday was on the 8th and we didnt get no discount paper for 30 dollars for her birthday like banihana promessed. Not a very good expirience from one of my favorite restaurants in miami....just not happy
I went for my 7 year anniversary as we have for the past few years we were sat at a table with two crying babies and we waited almost an hour for sushi and the chef to arrive spending 130.00 for a dinner for two while eating with two crying babies we might as well had stayed home with our own children and eaten for free the last few times we have gone to the Miami beach location the services and food was mediocre such a disappointment and waste of time and money will not be returning

Great restaurant overall. I went to the one located in Coral Gables before but I definitely love this location better. The whole restaurant is so nice, service is excellent & the experience overall was amazing. Recommend it!’
Been coming each year with my GF for 10 years and by far this was the worst. Food is good but staff is so unpleasant and not friendly at all. We always get a Birthday pic and there excuse was the printer broke.

Waiter was terrible! Had too many tables.. was delayed bringing white rice and ice cream.. never refilled water.. messed up check and spent 10+mins fixing..
Chef was even more terrible.. did not perform 1 time!! We had our child with us and were so disappointed to not get a rice design or onion volcano with fire or egg toss or spatula drumming or even an entertaining personality!! The Chef literally cooked and left.. he was not personable at all!
Food was ok! Not worth +$100 for 2 adults and 1 kid!

We were seating at a dirty table,it took the chef an extra 15mins after waiting 30 mins to clean the table, he advise the manager that It was not clean and she did not even come over to apologize or offer anything another young lady at the table had to go get her to let her know she needs to apologize. I have had bad experience with that manager before because I am a regular there. She is very rude and do not solve issues, Last month while dining there I was over charged for my drink ans she said the money would go back to my card it never did. I have a cash app care that cannot receive money and I informed her to just give me cash or another drink she refused and went on to speaking Spanish with her workers. I will never go to Benihanas again!
Never have any issues when eating here but this past weekend our server was unattentive. He seemed to be concerned with other things other than our table. Chef had to ask him 2 times plus our 1 time for my childs steamed rice for his kids meal. Water was refilled about 10-15 minutes after empty. Service that night was not the best. P.S we never got our ice cream that comes included in our entree

Service was terrible. At the bar we placed an order and the bartender disappeared and someone else came to take our order after waiting 5 mins. The front desk called our name to sit and I had to wait for my boyfriend to come out of the bathroom and when we found the hostess again to grab our seats, she wasn't ready to sit us. The chef left much to be desired as he barely spoke and had little to zero interaction with our table other than doing the typical cooking. The tables and silverware looked dirty and the carpet and walls look like it hasn't been renovated ever. The paint was peeling and looked run down. Cleanliness was non existent to say the least. I won't be visiting the Miami beach location ever again. The only thing that was good was the food. For a restaurant that prides themselves in entertainment through culinary there needs to be staff with more personality.
I was super excited about going to this restaurant i was super excited to go but when i was on my way received a called that said the restaurant waz closed. So that totally changed my plans. Was not very happy with that one being my 1st time there.

Waiter service disappointing,:he mix up our credit card and bill with the other group sitted at same table. Because of this issue they have us a gift card for next visit
The hostess with the dreads said she didn’t see my reservation. No smile. No welcoming vibe. She did mention the dress code. Once I showed her my reservation confirmation we still had to wait. She called another name from my party which confirmed that she didn’t select my reservation. I felt like we were a problem. Our server was slow. We were her last table and I just felt like she was over it. Our drinks were on E for 75% of the time. Being an employee of the company, I know the “Benihana Way” and it was not fulfilled. I felt like she knew she would receive her grat regardless so we were not important. Thank you to Jason our chef for ensuring we had a memorable experience. Upon departure our server and another server asked my position and when they found out, they made it a point to remind me that I had no clue how hard it is to be a server. Never returning. This place needs training across the board on people skills, attentiveness, and courtesy. The prices are too high to have anything less than 100% Service. We were there for the EXPERIENCE. And it overall sucked.

My best friend was having a birthday that night and she had never been to Benihana. I wanted to give her the experience of having the famous show and ultimately a good meal with other diners. The other diners at our table was really the only enjoyable part of the night. The staff took a long time to take our order to begin. The chef came later and didn't do any tricks at all except to light some really sad looking onions on fire. He didn't do the volcano trick, the shrimp toss, the fried rice pumping heart or really anything else. I felt bad because that's really why anyone goes to Benihana, the interactive show. He even forgot to cook our shrimp appetizer until I reminded him. I ordered a tofu spicy steak. The chef came out with a small container with a good amount of hot sauce and just poured it over a slightly heated limp piece of tofu. It just tasted like hot sauce without anything to refresh the palette, it was inedible really. I made everyone aware it was my friend's birthday but no one sung her a happy birthday song after I said it 3 times! The chef left and at this point we just wanted the check so we could end this horrible experience. It took 15 minutes to receive our check, just for it to come out wrong! Another 10 minutes gone. We finally leave and we are waiting for our car to come out of valet when a waitress comes downstairs frantic for security to come solve what I assumed to be a fight with some customers upstairs. The security guard ends her conversation with someone and says, "Hold on I gotta beat a B A** real quick." I can't make this up even if I tried. Literally the worst experience ever. The table we sat at was shoddy and our appetizer plates were never picked up so we had a pile of dirty dishes next to us the whole time like a low end buffet. Honestly, it would have been better to eat at home and order takeout from a nearby Asian restaurant at least we could have saved the gas and the ultimate headache.
It’s an annual tradition to go here for my daughters birthday and the last time 2 times we have been there our chef was boring but this time Wiskler (I think) was amazing. My daughter had a great time. Will definitely go back and will request that chef.
We are Benihana regulars. When we came in there was a party which had 3 loud and active kids. We asked not to be seated with them but once we were seated the hostess brought them over.
The seat we were given was next to a loud portable air conditioner which was blowing directly on me.
Begrudgingly the hostess agreed to move us but kept us standing while she sat other parties who arrived after us. I’m 66 and am the customer, I don’t come to a restaurant to be punished!
The chef was ok, not spectacular but ok, the server apparently had too many tables as the water glass was empty most of the time.
The zucchini arrived at the table pre chopped which is different than usual (my daughter commented that the other table had the normal zucchini).
I think that next time I will stick with the Coral Gables Benihana.
8:30 reservation for four people on a Monday night. We arrived at 8:15 and we were finally seated at 8:55 . Others walked in or had later Reservations and were seated ahead of us. It was dirty downstairs but we had a 3 year old and it was already so late we decided to stay. Walked upstairs to our table and it was at least 100 degrees upstairs. No warning. Everybody was sweating (including our chef who start cooking at 10am. He was nice and not his fault about the air or service. Food was pretty good but we took it home in Togo boxes and now we are too tired to eat. I wouldn't recommend this Benihana and I have been to at least 7 other city locations when I travel. Normally they are great .
Benihana has awesome food & most of the cooks have a great show. We love coming here for birthday dinners and would recommend it to anyone.
Made reservations and still had to wait almost 20 minutes. Hostess never even said hi or spoke when escorting us to the table. The waiter wasn’t much help and the experience which is the purpose of going there was completely absent. The “chef” came to the cooktop, didn’t speak or acknowledge anyone at the table. He just started cooking and did nothing else! He simply cooked, never spoke, never did anything with the presentation, nothing and the food was very average! Not the typical experience you expect from Benihana! Very disappointed!
Decent...waitress was very nice about making sure my meal was prepared gluten free...
