Horrible service, the cook did not care when we told him about a food allergy just piled the mushrooms on someone's plate despite several times saying she can not eat mushrooms, the server was HORRIBLE worst service I have ever had she was rude and kept rolling her eyes at us when we asked a question I will never go back
I love this restaurant.
The meal is delicious!
It needs a week of cleaning. The carpet and walls are coated in grease. The cooking surfaces are clean. The rest is awful.
It used to be somerhing special, now 20 years later the chef's are tired/bored and don't have any zing. The place should be refurbished. The food was really good and the steaks were great. We went for the show, but the food was in the spotlight. Okay, it is a restaurant so the food should be good and it was.
Great service, chef and food. Great place to celebrate a birthday.
The Chefs was excellent. The food was delicious. The servers were very polite.
very Happy with the Service my Cheff Seide was super funny and my servers were out of this world I will definelty come back
This place needs remodeling the decoration and the ambiance, looks outdated, hostesses need a little bit of more racial diversification In my opinion and more smiles !! - customer service training, better attitude.
Overall terrible experience. Oil dripping from hood #3 to griddle. Cooker ask three times what we ordered and again when he was serving the cooked food from griddle. Ambience, we were just looking thru a window not because of the see but actually because there was nothing to see inside beside a real poor deco and a boring cooker. Food, what should be the main reason to go there was not good at all either. I did not payed attention to the 3.9 star on google review. Go to Samuray that's a 5 stars at least the one by were I live in Pinecrest.
The server was awesome our chef Fernando was very amazing and skilled
Terrible experience. Dirty place, unwelcoming hostess, boring cook, waitress with dirty, anti-hygienic nails... All combined was huge disappointment. Too bad, because we have had good experiences in other Benihanas. But this one was awful.
The service we had when entering was horrible but our waiter was cool laid back just seem ready to go & the chef was awesome we had a bunch of great laughs and entertainment. I would recommend for the food not the service. Need better workers with customer service skills.
Great atomosphere, fantastic food would definitely recommend this place to any friend or family member.
I took my mom to dinner for her birthday and absolutely had the best time. The chef Fernando was very nice, and charismatic. Food was amazing. I’ve been a couple of times since I was little. I don’t remember my servers name but she was very attentive . My water was always full and she was very nice. I will definitely be back .
Terrible service. Everyone had a bad attitude.
The chef didn't say a word. He sucked
The food tastes like the cleaning products used to clean the flat iron stove. Been to many benihana restaurants and this was the worst by far.
Never go there
I expected better from the Benihana franchise. The only good thing was my Gin Martini.... we sat at the regular dining not the hibachi table. Big mistake! Food was late and cold. Portions were very small as well. Hopefully they can get it together soon !
Fun for kids and family
This was the best experience we have ever had at a Benihana. This location is awesome and is right on the water with beautiful views. Make sure to request a window seat. Our server was great. The food seemed extra better, too. Spicy fried rice was a big hit. Keep up the great work!
I celebrated my birthday and anniversary
Luis was awesome, he cooked as good as he sings..!!!
Had an awesome time..!! Will be back soon..!!!
Was great but no a/c
Unfortunately, this Benihana’s is not what it used to be. The facilities seem to be worn. We were there several months ago and they had air-conditioning issues. They still have the same issues. Even though OpenTable said they were very limited time slots available It appeared that only four or five tables are actually occupied at the time of ours 6 o’clock dinner reservation. Still, the food is good and the demonstration from the chef is entertaining it is good for a family outing or for something a little different.
Good food ok service, AC was broken so it was a little warm
Bad chef poor late service
Did not see a show, cooks looked unhappy no energy, no tricks, not good with a crowd
some of our food went to an employee...that was ridiculous....never seen in my life
vegetables was served last, never had that process done in all my years. I took a new family and we were not happy. Disappointed
We had a reservation for 3:00, after multiple complaints our chef finally came to prepare our food at 4:00. They were clearly understaffed, which is not the server’s fault but clearly bad management. The restaurant looks old and poorly kept. Food was good, as expected in any Benihana.
It was great this time around. The last time I came before this one I was a bit disappointed. But this time it was great. Thank you. It was raining and someone from the restaurant staff had called me to inform me that some of the tables were getting wet and we have to wait a little longer to be seated. That was nit the case. We were seated immediately. He also informed me that Benihana on the causeway is going to be nock down because there is no one avaliable to fix the roof. I hope they find a way to fix it and keep it. This is the most beautiful and original of them all and a gem. Thank you
Our chef was great and the food was delicious! However, we booked a table quite a bit in advance and were hoping to get a table with a nice view... especially since we mentioned in our reservation that it was a date night. We are thinking about booking a table again in couple weeks and hope to get a view next time :)
This is not a great Benihana. The place is very old and outdated. The AC has been broken for years. The wait staff and the hostess are rude. The food is till pretty good though.
Was a great place to eat, chef did a wonderful job. Food was great
Chef was very good... building is old and carpet is dirty... but my kids enjoyed the show and the food was great!
Everything was good. Not sure why I wasn’t marked for reservation, we sat, ate, and had a good time.
FOOD AWESOME, SERVICE FROM THE WAITER BAD, FRONT DESK PERSONNEL AWESOME
NO AIR CONDITIONER AND NEVER INFORMED
We came on a Saturday night for a dual preteen birthday celebration. The air conditioning was not functioning properly. A major component of the Benihana menu, sushi, was not available because there was not a sushi chef. Rather than tell us this up front they took our order and told us this after the fact. Same thing happened at both hibachis next to us. They took the sushi order and came back after to get a new order. At this point, they had to know no chef was available and should state this up front. The lack of attention to our depleted drinks and incorrect check were the least of our issues.
Was a horrible birthday experience. The cook Maurose made the rice, gave me sample to try the rice. Had the nerve to asked me if I liked the rice then took my bowl of fried rice and gave it to another server to put away. I thought it was a joke but I kept asking "Where's my rice?!" He responded that the other servers "were hungry back there". After he burned my ahi tuna steak then he finally asked the server to bring the cold rice back up because I kept asking where's my rice. They did Not sing happy birthday to our table not asked if we wanted dessert. Just made the experience uncomfortable for all of us to quickly leave. My kids were in shock. We've never been treated so poorly.
Cramped, waitress rude, chef was fun though, and food very good
I am a native being born in South Florida, and of have been going to this restaurant for many years throughout my life. I was proud to have met Hiroaki Aoki, in my younger years when he was into offshore boat racing in South Florida and the Bahamas.
I think if he knew what has happened to this Jewel of a restaurant in North Bay Village, he would turn over in his grave and take the name away.
The food has been declining in quality, especially over the last few years, but some of the original menus is still good.
However, the service, ambiance and quality, of the Benihana of Tokyo experience, is slowly being destroyed due to a lack of quality management staff, and the employees in this particular establishment.
I have been to other Benihana establishments in other locations throughout the United States, and many continue to strive to deliver the Benihana experience.
I am appalled to see what appears to be a total erosion of work ethics, from the employees at this location. They could care less about work ethics, and what the Rocky worked so hard for, to be successful, as an excellent restaurateur.
I wouldn't be surprised, if this restaurant continues to degrade, and go out of business in the near future.
I believe our community, would also suffer a loss as well.
Please let me know if you don't care anymore abut this establishment. If not, I guess I can let the rest of the community know.
