Benihana - Memphis
The chef was excellent. The entertained us and made sure our food was what we wanted.
I love coming here to eat but this experience was horrible!!!! I didn't get all of my food, I had to remind the waiter what comes with my meal and the cook was very impatient!!!
The chef was outstanding! The hostesses left much to be desired with the attitude and not want to be working approach they took with their customers. Our waitress stayed on top of our drinks and anything we needed. Over all good experience but would have been a GREAT experience had the 3 hostesses acted like they cared about their job and customers.
Hostess was HORRIBLE. She was rude and just mean. Will not be attending again. I can say a manager came over and attempted to rectify the situation and our experience- she was great, but the hostess should be fired and never work in customer service again.
The wait time was very long even though we had a reservation. The associate complained about there only being one server, and that that was the cause of such slow service. This is only the second time this has happened to us so I won't complain too much about it. Ill still try this location again.
I always stop and eat at Benihana when I’m in Memphis and this time was very disappointing. They only had one waiter for the entire restaurant. Also, the pink “yum yum” sauce was watery and ruined my whole meal!!! This was the worst experience I’ve had at this restaurant!!!
Shin was our server and she was this places saving grace. I love hibachi and Benihana, however, the hibachi chef did not seem to have enough practice on the flat iron. And for the money that we were spending, he got egg shells on the flat iron that ended up in our food. My check for a party of 6 after tips was 420 dollars, that is almost 70/person, and 2 of them were kids. Thats too much to pay for someone to mess up the food.
Every thing was excellent and delicious! I high recommend visiting.
Benihana Memphis has went from my favorite restaurant in Memphis almost to my least favorite restaurant. The quality of service has dropped dramatically, I don’t even refer other individuals there anymore. The wait times are unacceptable but after you’ve waited so long u don’t want to leave and end up waiting again somewhere else. Waiters and waitresses attitudes have changed and some cooks even seem nervous behind the grill. Send a few secret shoppers in there to get there own opinion
I was there for my birthday and had a great time.
This was a last minute decision to go to Benihana because I was in the mood for hibachi and have never tried them before. I was able to book a table for 1 person at 9:30pm. Booking was easy and simple via OpenTable. On arrival they were hosting a few parties, but I was still escorted to my table with 4 ither diners quickly. Our server was a little slow because he had to run another party which is completely understandable. I order a 6 course meals and a few of the items that were specified for my meal I didn’t receive. The soup and salad came out while our chef was cooking and he had to ask for the two dipping saucesvthat come with the meal. I believe if they weren’t so busy this experience would have been phenomenal, either way the food was great and I was gracious for ny server and tipped him and the cook well for still completed a stressful night with grace! Oh and prickly pear margarita was off the chain
Daughter birthday party. A few guests were running late from a senior function. They would not seat them until all parties were there. As my daughter was getting nervous about what was going to happen, I called and spoke with Sandy and she said “I will take care of your baby” and proceeded to seat them. Thank you....it definitely reduced my daughters anxiety!
1.My reservation didn't get documented in the system
2.My special request for a table wasn't recognized until I mentioned it
3.My b-day $30 cert. wasn't applied to my bill until I brought to attention
4.I still had a good time
Everything was great except the onion soup to salty there need to be an option
It was my friends birthday and I made reservations for dinner for 9:30. However, we weren’t seated until 10:00pm. I really wished we could have been seated at the designated reservation time, however, my server was amazing. And so was the chef. Overall. Nice experience.
We had to wait 15 minutes just to be seated AND we had a reservation. Apparently Benihana doesn’t take into account how many people have reserved a spot before seating walk-ins. The hostess was nice but seemed more concerned with to-go orders than seating people. It clear our waitress was very busy and that they had the poor girl serving too many tables. Overall, a very over-rated place to eat. The atmosphere is supposed to be upscale but it was very loud and they seated other people at the same table as us. It didn’t seem like they were following COVID procedures by doing that because we were less than six feet apart. The food was good but I would recommend going somewhere cheaper because you can get the same thing quicker.
Everything was great
Everything was fine I think they left something off the chefs cart so our rice sat on the grill a little longer was kinda mushy but overall good.
Great experience period
It was an overall great experience!
Our table was in a very quiet location. The chef barely spoke to us the whole time. Food was okay - chicken was a bit dry and fried rice was very firm with no taste. Overall my party enjoyed the time anyway.
Was the worst reservation was at 715
We did not manager to do our discount correctly. Quit making us go to a second source to print the ticket. When you say print it from the email you get everything except the code. We did not know you had to select print and then go to another page to print. A second grader must be doing your web development that can think or explain what to do properly. I was ready to leave and our stress level was through the roof. It ruined the whole meal. Could not understand the cook. No display of entertainment was good by the chef. Food was OK but not great. Soup was cold. Got the cheapest plastic fork and knife possible to use. With a close to $100 meal give we utensils to use without asking. My wife's wine had something in it so we sent it back.
Enjoyed my 50th celebration... Kevin was awesome and funny
It was just a great experience all around. It was just nice, loved it. Really enjoyed my birthday.
Shrimp hibachi with chicken fried rice!
The food was good. But the service was terrible, no bartender couldn’t make certain drinks. Server was delayed on drinks constantly. Chef did not present food properly. The entire night seemed at lower value then what it’s priced! Supposed to be an upscale restaurant but has really dropped in service. As of now not worth the money you put out.
Food was pretty good but not for my $100 bill that I received. They ask you if you want chicken fried rice but don’t tell you there’s an up charge per person. Drinks were very flat tasting. Had to ask for everything that the menu said we were supposed to receive for our meal as it was supposed to be 6 course and they acted like they were doing us a favor.
This place is overpriced and overhyped. Service was awful and the food sure didn’t make up for it.
I had a great girls Night. The food was delicious. I took home a carry our order for my hubby and unfortunately there was a piece of hair. Other than that everything was nice.
I usually love my food it melts in my mouth but this time the chef was a bit heavy on the salt...
Staff was excellent, server was excellent, and chef was excellent. Food was delicious !
We were out with the children for a family dinner. I must say that the food was delicious! Our chef, Artis, cooked our meals to perfection. The service on the other hand was average. I say this because we were seated for about 20 min before our server greeted us and then it took another 20-25 min to get our hibachi meal started.
Made a reservation for 4 and 2 other people that were able to sit at our table with absolutely no mask ! They enter w/o a mask as well.
The lady at the front was rude when I asked her why is someone else at our table. I will not be back! I don’t appreciate Benihana not requiring everyone enter at least with a mask on.!
Courtesy to otherS with mask on !!!
It service wasn’t that great for that price. I heard it was an up scale restaurant but terribly wrong. The food was just ok.
I arrived at 8:09 reservation was 8:15 they made me come back at exactly 8:15. My waitress didn’t not know anything about the menu she took our drink orders but it was not put in until 9:00. We got our drinks at 9:30. Cool came to the table rushed cooking our food then we were rushed to eat because they close at 10. I will never go back mgmt was rude the whole time. It was my birthday btw
Our table was all scratched needed a paint job. Party across from us was making excessive noise. Waitress seemed overwhelmed. Place needs a good remodel.
Great service and the food was cooked perfectly
Made a reservation for my 40th birthday. Got there at 640 young lady at front desk was rude. Asking us to go back outside until 645 and it was raining. Waiter took long taking order and bringing our drinks. They also sat someone else at our table. I didn’t get a birthday song or birthday ice cream. 😞
If you like hibachi then this is the place!! Came for birthday and had a blast w our lil family and chef was awesome!! Great service overall!
