Good service food was average .old scenery .could very well use an update.the benihana in westbury is much better
I've been going to Benihana Manhasset for as long as I can remember (about 40 years). Benihana is the original hibachi restaurant, to me. There are many others now that try to duplicate but the quality of food (Chateaubriand, for instance) are unbeatable! Love the ginger dressing and sauce, the atmosphere, everything. The one by Roosevelt Field is newer and more sleek if you are younger but I love the ambiance at Manhasset. Reminds me of when I was little and used to go.
We went to Celebrate my son and niece’s Birthday and it was fun. We had a great time!!! The food was delicious and very creative. The restaurant gave them a Benihana Birthday hat, free cake with candles, two free pictures as souvenirs. Also a couple of employees sang the happy birthday song.
I will recommend visiting the restaurant.
Brought my parents here for the first time they loved it
My sons birthday food was burnt cookies very sloppy and had an attitude
The food was better than the previous experiences. However, the seats are too cramped and uncomfortable. They try to fit too many people into one table.
Our first time here. We love it. Kids friendly place.
Some of the chefs were more interactive with their guests. Unfortunately, ours was very blah and boring. Food was good overall, had reservations, but still had to wait 30 minutes. Then when seated had to wait another 30 minutes for food. Not sure I would go back.
I Waited 40 minutes to sit even with a reservation for 3. We shared a table with 8 small children and 1 adult. When the bill came, 18% gratuity was automatically added because the waiter assumed we were all together and it was another party
of 12 table. Food was ok, will not go back anytime soon.
Our reservation was for 8:45 and we got seated till around 9:30. The food was ok, nothing special. The food however took a while to be brought out and to be prepared. Not sure if i would come here again due to the long wait for a seat and the long wait for the food/drinks. I also hated how we were given each section of the 5 course meal one by one. I rather have everything served together. The meat was last to be given, it should have been served all together along with the rice and vegetables
Chef Chow was amazing and kept the group engaged and entertained!
It was amazing as usual. Good food and service
Cook was great and service was good love Benihanas
We really enjoyed the service. Chef was very aware of allergies and dietary restrictions in our group. Glad our table was not totally booked otherwise you are a bit squished and not much personal space.
Went for my mom’s birthday, and seems like we weren’t alone. There were three other birthdays around us! Great spot for a group get together, special occasion or celebration. Food was delicious and our chef Castillo was great! Very entertaining and a nice week night treat.
always a birthday go to, the theater of the stomach, steaks great fun watching the chef put on a show
The food was delicious and the chef was very nice!!!
Its the worst thing I have ever experienced . They sit you at a table like sardines with no room to move and the floor has food all over it. Nasty!!!!
Seated promptly, not much waiting considering it was packed. Food was good. Kids loved it. Saturday night family dinner.
The chef that we had who I don’t recall his name was not interactive at all. The rice was not fully fried with lumps of white rice.
Fun evening out!
I selected that this was a birthday. The waitress did not ask who’s birthday it was but only acknowledged same. I would have liked the option of ordering a special birthday dessert. The children seated next to us were poorly mannered and very loud. The waitress seemed to be very busy and MIA yet the restaurant was hardly busy upon our arrival.
A dining event fun for children and a small bday party.
This is my third time going to Benihana, I love the way they prepared your food in front of you. This time I didn't feel to comfortable because the lady that took our order was very difficult to be understood. But our overall experience was nice.
Amazing cook, best Benihana in NY.
Service was excellent from the chef and the server. The chef was very entertaining . The server was very attentive to our needs and very pleasant to the customers. The lunch menu prices were reasonable and the food was very enjoyable. We decided to celebrate Valentine's Day a day earlier so the restaurant was not crowded. My husband and I really enjoyed having lunch at Benihana.
Our server was great, accomadating and professional while also being extremely friendly. Other than that, best I can say is our food didn't taste bad. Maybe I could say it tasted fine. Good enough...which is always what I'm going for when I i go out to dinner. At some point you can't rest on the legacy of your business name. The restaurant decor is worn and spartan and the state of the restrooms showed just how little some one cares about the establishment. Rather, they are all about volume and turnover of tables versus quality. The cost of dinner seems solely related to the idea that they are providing multiple dishes. That said, nothing was good enough to justify the cost. Over all, food decent, staff great, ambiance and value subpar.
Completely disregarded the customer
Excellent food, great show, but a little loud and always A LOT of kids, so more family-friendly than romantic dining.
The kids and I had a wonderful and entertaining time!
great food
nice chef
no confusion
Grandsons birthday
Disappointing. Celebrating a special birthday with seven family members. First, order for me was wrong but not a big deal. Then cook prepares an extra fried rice as only six of seven ordered it. He offered it to us but said we would be charged extra for it to our surprise, what else could they do with cooked rice. We declined. He also made extra small shrimp which typically would be shared amongst the table he left with it. The delay in the food prep found us with cold food with little taste. Considering the total check was about $350 the fact he would charge us for one small bowl of cooked rice and zbout six small shrimp we all thought was quite insulting. Considering the cost versus the quality and lack of customer service I could not recommend this restaurant.
The place needs help
Sometimes this place is very loud and sometimes it’s totally noise bearable. Today it was very bearable. Weekends are crowded. Food is always excellent
Loud. No ambiance to speak of. But still the best hibachi around. Have to like Benihana, but we do. And, a good value.
Birthday dinner for my oldest tonight- we had 5 of her girlfriends with us. We were about 15 min early for our reservation, the restaurant had us seated within minutes. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. He asked who the birthday person was and made dinner special for her. He took a group picture and printed it for us to take home. Our chef Miguel was wonderful. He made us a great dinner, kept everyone’s attention, was entertaining, super friendly and made the evening very enjoyable all around.
Amazing service
Love this place
love it seafood is always great :).
The food was excellent and the chef was great. The night we went the service was not good though. First off we had given the water our birthday certificate for coupon which he forgot about. At the end of the meal, no birthday ice cream and pic as we usually get for birthday meals there, then took forever to fix the check because he didn't take the money off for the coupon. Overall service was lacking.
