Benihana - Manhasset
The cook, Miguel, tried very hard to entertain the guests; I’ve been at many other Benihanas, so I wasn’t impressed by the lack of service. Dirty plates and glasses were left unattended all evening. I was cheated out of my schrimp order but charged full price. The noise level gives you a headache; everybody had to talk loud to understand the conversation. The decorations are attractive. Won’t return or recommend.
Everything was delicious as usual.
We share a table
They make a poor show and give more to the other people if I have 3 pieces of shirmp is a lot it was my son bday we told them they didn’t even got deserve menu only vanilla or chocolate ice cream
We went for my daughter’s birthday, there were 7 of us. From the start, the customer service is great. Very friendly and helpful staff. The food is great, the chef entertaining, and the price is very reasonable.
Sat down at 2:15. Chef didn’t come out until 3:00. We had to leave at that point as we didn’t expect to wait that long and had to be somewhere by 3:30. Very, very disappointed.
One of our favorites for fun dining. Great hibachi, energetic ambiance great for group dining.
We had a great time celebrating me and my wife’s birthday which is on the same day !! Food was awesome cheif was terrific and funny .we had a blast .... thanks guys
The chef was lousy and lacked the skill or energy !
Food was terrible, service was worse, but at least the chef was fun. We won’t be back anytime soon as the last few times have been disappointing.
Great food, service, atmosphere. Always a good time at this location.
They took interest in the fact that it was my wifes’s birthday, without me reminding them. I had mentioned it in the comments when I first made the reservation thru open table. Over all It was a very enjoyable experience.
Benihana is a good experience when you have a group of people going. Would recommend that you join the Chefs table for all in the family to take advantage of the birthday certificate. It is a great deal.
Our chef wasn’t energetic and didn’t show any cool cooking tricks and make our 3 children very disappointed because kids were exited to see chef cooking performance. They find out other tables had cool chefs so my children were more looking at other tables than our boring tired chef.
Food was okay.
Reservations need to be honored - wait time was + 25 minutes from reservations
Service needs to improve - I requested a high chair, never received it.
Waitress service was long - my sons rice bowl came late, refills had to be followed up
Great way to celebrate my birthday!
You sit at a table with other diners. The other diners had an allergy and because of that we didn’t get the full experience you are suppose to get when going to Benihana. I wish they asked us if we minded before seating us. We never got the app and my children were fed first.
Place was extremely busy and has lost its appeal over the years. Service was completely on cramming in people to a table. They were rushing to get the orders without allowing people ample time to review the menu. Their current approach makes it more like a food processing line and I would not call their approach a reasonable dining experience. We were also told they only take pictures for birthdays, not that we needed it but it was another event to our family. Just poor restaurant management all around as the management was more concerned with tables being turned and less on customer satisfaction.
I brought my grandniece here as she wanted to celebrate her birthday at Benihana. This was my worse Benihana experience as far as a specific is concerned. I have visited the restaurant all they way from Hawaii to the continental USA. Cook was confused all the time and seem he wanted to just get done and go ( I get it he is tired ). If waitresses agreed on singing a birthday song to my niece when we brought the dessert with a candle, they should do it correctly. One of them was rolling eyes showing annoyance doing it... another one was mumbling her annoyance as she approached the table. Really simple, they were not in the mood they shouldn’t have done it. My grandniece saw and we all got irritated.
Just be more careful with your your business etiquette. For you we were and are just more customers, for us it is memories we come to celebrate at your place . I’ll come back to eat for sure but never to celebrate anything again
Very disappointed in the gluten free option. Cooking gluten free on a grill covered in gluten sauce!? Cook was extremely ignorent to cater to my guest.
Best habachi on LI
Always a great meal, and always loud and busy
We are very well seasoned to Hibachi...
However sadly this time we had a horrible experience.
The chef didn’t know how to cook nor did he do any tricks.
Unacceptable at all levels. Plan and simple.
This restaurant has by far gone downhill. Clear broth soup watered down, salad was made from yellow parts of iceberg lettuce which were hard and browned. Cleanliness has much to be desired. There is nothing about Benihana that is inexpensive, so they better up their game. We took our granddaughter because she likes the show but we would never go back.
It was very obvious from the failed tricks and poor tasting food that we were given a chef in training as there were only 4 people at the table compared to the other tables which were full. Also, despite getting the dinner meal, options such as the mushrooms were not prepared and included in the meal.
I have been to Benihana Manhasset and other locations multiple times and this was the worst service thus far. Will not be revisiting anytime soon.
It was very noisy but they should# specify they have a special: menu on holidays
We were a family of 10 going to dinner for Christmas. We arrived at 5:20PM for 5:30PM reservations and were told that everyone had to be there to be seated. I woke up my 3 year old who was sleeping in the car in the parking lot so we can all be seated. We were not seated until 6PM. There are 3 small children, 2 pregnant women and 3 seniors in our family and we were told quite rudely by the host that there were 4 tables that had paid but were just sitting around and that 5:30 reservations does not guarantee us anything. We were not informed of any of this and if so, I would not have woken my child or perhaps come to Benihana at all for a nice Christmas meal. Food and wait service was fine. We ordered kids meals, which came with ice cream but after we ate our meal and ordered ice cream, we were told that the ice cream had all melted. I asked for an alternative since the kids meal had dessert included and we had already asked the kids what flavor they wanted. We were told Benihana can only provide one alternative - a fried banana. No other choices. Sorry, but that is not a dessert. To top it all off, gratuity was already included since we were a party of 10. I am not impressed overall and very disappointed with our experience.
We came on Christmas and the staff was nice. We had a nice table looking out into the landscaped area in the back. Our server was really good and we appreciated her attention. The food was okay - I feel like the ingredients aren’t super high quality and it’s Japanese food for people new to Asian cuisine. The ladies room was gross.
Delicious as always but they changed their famous sauce! Thankfully we could ask for the mustard sauce I'd been loving for 20 years, but they first served an orange mayo based.. it was very disorienting. Still, the food is tasty as always and a fun experience!
It was fine
The waitress was great, but the chef was not. The whole idea of going to Hibachi, is to see a show. The chef did 3 tricks. Disappointing.
I celebrated my birthday here this year & it was great. They gave me the royal treatment. The food was also amazing. It was nice to receive a birthday coupon from them. Will definitely go there again.
Good food great place
Fried rice as a side and banana tempura with vanilla ice cream for desert are the perfect add-ons to any meal.
Friendly and helpful wait staff. The chefs also seem to up their game each visit- particularly the tricks the come up with for the shrimp or eggs/fried rice.
Always a great meal with fantastic tastes! Love getting a picture for a birthday celebration. I think That 11 seats are too many though around.
It was awesome they sung me happy birthday the food and performance was incredible and I would def go again
I loved our chef MIGUEL!!! he was amazing!!!!i defintely enjoyed my time there.
I asked chef, and waitress to limit salt and butter. They both acknowledged, but request was not followed through. TERRIBLE
All great as usual
Great place to eat ,we enjoy every time we go there .
