Benihana - Las Colinas Ratings and Reviews
We were at a table with out a chef to cook for almost 40 min. Sitting there just waiting. The table across from us ended up leaving they waited so long. They had time to get frustrated and annoyed, make an alternate reservation, and then leave.
Our chef was new and didn’t realize someone with a seafood allergy should not have food cooked simultaneously with shrimp salmon and whitefish. (In the past they cook the allergy food first and then the rest. )
Our chef did not speak at all to myself and my date. Only spoke in spanish to the other two couples at the table.
Not my best experience there. It will probably be a while before i return.
Well I was supremely disappointed with what this restaurant has become. It was such a great meal in the past. The shrimp were tiny, the scallops were a joke not sure I got a filet mignon either. The table chef was a dope couldn't do anything fun or close to it, what happened!!
Wont be back and won't recommend same.
Bathroom was Filthy. they do not check it often enough. The Bar tables in the waiting area were always sticky and dirty. The bartender seemed like he didn't want to be there. Reservations not honored. Don't expect to sit down right away, you'll wait at least another 30-40 minutes before you get a table if you have reservations during dinner hours. Waitress disappeared for long periods of time. Chef was nice and quick. I am a vegan and they were willing to accommodate my dietary needs.
Great atmosphere. The waitress and chef were amazing. We were seated with a birthday party that was lots of fun. Food was cooked perfectly and super flavorful. Asked for steamed rice and never received it, however there was so much food that I didn’t mind terribly.
We’ve been to Benihana several times and this was by far the worst experience ever. The service was terrible. Our server was completely inattentive ....my husband got up twice to refill our drinks himself and I had to go get sweetener from the bar for my ice tea because. The food was so so. The cook must have been new because he definitely didn’t have the pizzazz that the cooks normally have when you go there.
This was a special occasion for us as well, my husbands birthday. They always take our picture and sing, but this time they didn’t because they couldn’t round up other servers to come sing for him. No picture either.
Disappointment is an understatement.
We have four different birthdays that we celebrate at Benihana. They usually make a photo to commemorate the occasion; however, this was the second time in two months that no photo was taken even though we asked the server about it. After we had paid our check, he was no longer interested in our table. We waited 15 minutes and could not get his attention, so we left without the photo.
My wife and I celebrated her birthday and it turned out to be a very special evening at Benihana Las Colinas. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive throughout our evening and our chef was one of the best that we have had there. We have made Benihana a birthday tradition for more than 10 years and this time was one the best experiences of all. Our food was delicious and cooked just as we wanted. Our chef was very personable and an absolute joy to watch as he went through his routine at the grill. Thanks Benihana for such a wonderful evening and making my wife's birthday a truly special event.
Probably the best experience I've had at Benihana. Our chef was very entertaining and had everyone at our table laughing, and the age range was from about 4 to my Dad's 94. The food was, as always, very good (I had Steak and Scallops and my Dad had Scallops, and there were several special requests from others at the table. Our chef had no problem accommodating everyone). My only issue is the level of noise of music in the dining area that is anything but Japanese - although that can be heard in the entry/waiting and bar areas.
This was my first time using Open Table, even having to change the time on my reservation, and the process was seamless.
Very disappointing - my first and probably last trip to a Benihana's....I guess my expectations were high, but they dropped as soon as we walked in and were not greeted by the hostess leaning against the podium so looked like she could care less whether we ate there or not.
Despite a reservation, we were made to wait - which was frustrating when we saw empty tables. As it was late perhaps they were closing off sections - which is understandable - but the hostess made no attempt to explain why we had to wait.
Once seated we had to ask for napkins and silverware...none provided. Fortunately two of the guests at our table were regulars so they at least knew where to find some napkins... then after several minutes had gone by the waitress appeared within some...just bad service overall.
Overall the restaurant appeared run down - bathrooms were extremely dirty (doesn't appear anyone checked on them at all during the course of the night)....so makes one wonder what the kitchen looks like.
The only redeeming quality was the food cooked by Hector - who did a fantastic job preparing an extremely tasty meal and accommodated everyone's special request, whether it was extra garlic butter...or no butter at all.
Overall, good experience. We have visited this restaurant several times. Unfortunately, after ordering our food we had to wait over thirty minutes for the chef to begin preparing our meal. This long wait, which was unusual, was difficult for our three young children (4, 3, and 1 years old).
This was my first time at Benihanas after so many people recommended this place to me. VERY delicious food! Traditional hibachi only packed with much more flavor. Wonderful 6 course meal, AMAZING mojitos, and if you are a lobster fan do not skip out on it!
My first time not doing the hibachi with the chef. We ordered at the bar and enjoyed Happy Hour and dinner. It was more time efficient because of another activity later in that evening. Loved all food coming out at one time. The bartender was very attentive. I always enjoy dining there.
I’ve been to many Benihanas around the US and this one was nice inside out but the vibes were really low. Manager seemed incompetent, server was very inattentive. The only one that made it a pleasant experience was the chef, her name was Ingry. If you are going because of your birthday or you just want to have ask for her, she’s the best.
We had a great experience with Miguel as our chef. The food was great and Miguel had a lot of fun while cooking for us. He was very friendly and helped make our dinner even better. Half of the experience is having a great chef! We go every year for our family birthdays, since there are so many in September. Benihana never disappoints and this year was no different!
This is my absolute favorite restaurant but I had never been to the Las Colinas one! My meal was wonderful but something to do with the air conditioning and the vents being too high the smoke from the food was literally in my face the entire dinner... im aware being a loyal customer of 20 plus years some smoke is normal
But this was the entire time! And I have never had that problem at the Dallas location
