Benihana - Las Colinas
I would recommend Benihana to a friend on "non-holidays". I went with the intent to order what I usually order on any given day. With their "holiday menu" it prohibited me from doing so because our host stated if it is not on the holiday menu it would not be made. My daughter and I removed ourselves from the table and went elsewhere.
Celebrated our 2 year anniversary and went there for our first time and we had a great experience.
I have always loved this place. I live at least 2 hours away and do not get to go very often. We were on our way home from a trip and made reservations. We had to rush to get there on time but I felt like it was going to be worth it. When they sat us we were extremely crowded. They tries to put as many plates as they could together but there were some bigger people so everyone had to sit slanted to get around the table. Could not understand our waitress. We finally understood that it was an Easter menu. We asked for regular menu and was denied. I finally explained to her that my husband was allergic to seafood and all the item seemed to have seafood on them so she finally agreed to give us a regular menu. She was messy and sloppy about everything. My tea had something floating in it and she acted like I was stupid for wanting a new one. Juan was the best thing about the trip. He did well and was interactive with us. I enjoyed him being there. The rest was horrible and I will not be back.
Great food, very flavorful. Don’t skimp on butter. Friendly teppan chef Omar.
It was great!
We celebrated my son 17ty birthday. Drew and Pedro were awesome!! Drew was very friendly and helpful. Pedro was just an entertainer, lol.
The only problem there was not enough room at the table they put too many people and it was hard to eat. I was not to happy with that.
This was my first time at this location and it was good. I liked the food, the bathrooms were clean, the servers were very nice and made sure that we had all our orders correct. I will definitely be back to visit.
Our host was outgoing and attentive. Our chef could’ve been more outgoing. It’s always disappointing when our kids are there and want to be more entertained. We felt the cooking time was long but otherwise the food tasted good.
Always enjoy good food at Benihana. Chef was inexperienced but the food was still good. Had a great time with coworkers.
My wife and I ate in the self seating area. The service was incredibly slow. I think it took about 10 minutes just to get our waters. Once we ordered my wife’s sushi came out in a decent amount of time, but my hibachi chicken took much longer than it should have. She ate all of her sushi at least another 10 minutes before I ever got my food. And for the price the food was just ok. The atmosphere was fine we weren’t too concerned about that. Could probably be improved though. Again, just for the self seating. Thanks
Sunday afternoon was a great time to go to Benihana. It was not crowded and had a lunch menu. Our server was extra attentive since he didn't have to juggle many other table. Our chef, Pedro, event created a few fun things for the table that I had never seen before.
Service was absolutely terrible. The chef and show were average to good. The entire restaurant could use an complete deep cleaning.
Food was great not enough room to eat at the table when there are other customers eating with you. Other than that my experience was great. Need to figure out to create more space at the tables.
Food was always good, but seemed a bit less tasty than normal.
Regardless of having a reservation, we weren't seated until 30 minutes later. We let the hostess know we only had an hour and she sat us in the "show" area where we didn't even get asked for our drinks. We got up to leave and that's when the hostess finally let us know the lobby was available to use for faster service without the show. I don't know why she didn't suggest this when we first arrived. I also received a notification from Open Table saying "sorry we missed you" or "didn't make it" to the reservation which makes me wonder if the hostess ever even checked us in. While we were seated an employee even ran out sobbing- don't know what that was about, but it didn't make a good impression. The food was amazing, but the service was very poor. If you want good service and amazing food, go to the Benihanas in Dallas, it's worth the extra drive.
Great food, chef and wait not too bad. Bar took forever to get one drink while waiting. They were ignoring patrons to get out the drinks for wait staff.
The waitress was ok. Felt very rushed though. It was my birthday and I got the lamest happy birthday song song of the night. They looked so unhappy like they did not want to be there. No energy at all. I would rather not hear them sing 😬 my whole table laughed at it so it wasn’t just me 🙄
Everything was great
Your hosts and bartending staff could be friendlier and smile more, otherwise, consider them elsewhere, not receiving your customers... they don't seem happy in their job capacity
We have been to this location many many times and the food and service has always been exceptional. Not this time. It was busy, but it usually is. The bathrooms looked like a bomb went off. The service was slow. We had reservations with the notation that we had 2 needing gluten free so we all would have our food prepared with gluten free soy sauce. Its hard to accomplish this with others not in our party using regular soy sauce. We ended up being short a rice which was given, but after having cooked with regular soy sauce onthe grill. It was my daughters birthday. And while 2 of us got green tea ice cream, no song or picture to commemorate the occasion. For the amount of money spent, it was disappointing.
The cook was very messy. On top of that i ordered extra rice he gave me a half of cup I took pictures also. He did this because the other seven guest at the table ordered gluten free soy sauce on everything so he was trying to not have to get more rice so I got the short rice he didn’t have enough rice to complete our order he had already told the waitress to bring one order he needed to orders and he didn’t want to tell her. We didn’t get vegetables because he had put gluten free soy sauce on all the vegetables like he forgot we were at the table. Benihana is my favorite restaurant but this was my first and last time at this location I was very upset I spent over 100.00 and service was very poor.
We went for my mom’s birthday. A fantastic time. The food was great. Jesus was a marvelous chef and the server (Cynthia?) did a phenomenal job.
First time being at a Hibachi type of restaurant and it was amazing. The food was great! Patrick, our chef was amazing and made our first time feel incredible. We will be back again!
I gave this visit the review because though cook and waiter were exceptional the front desk associate was very rude and Argumentative.
We visit Benihana at least once a week and everyone knows us and greets us. This was the first time we had bad experience with front desk.
Management needs supervision. This location use to be a nice romantic spot. Now the Management and waitstaff are horrible. The cleanliness has also gone down tremendously.
The server we had seen a bit new and confused. Messed up on our orders but other than that everything was awesome
The chef, food, and experience was great, but the waiter seemed to have trouble with taking his time.
As always food, drinks and service was great. Our chef for the evening, Lu, was awesome as always. He's the best cook y'all have!!!
Very displeased with my service, food was not good and waitress checked on us one time the entire dinner
The service by the waitress was terrible. She was more into looking at her phone and conversating with co-workers rather than tending to her table. The whole dinner, myself and others only received one glass of water. Our cup was empty from half way through the meal till the end. I gave our waitress my birthday certificate, which led to her singing to another party at our table instead of me. When the checks came, the other party received $30 off via my birthday certificate. I had to inform her that she made a mistake. To top of the night, she lost our debit card.
The server (Bobby) and the chef (Patrick) were great. Spicy chicken fried rice was all that. Love the ginger salad dressing.
It was my Daughters birthday and her first time there!!!! The chef was great and food was Amazing!!! The only thing I would change was our server. She seemed to be in a rush and bothered if we asked for anything. Not very upbeat to match the mood of everyone else. Her attitude towards the end made us seem like she was ready for us to leave. But besides her it was a great time. And I get why our chef was best of 2018!!!!!!! San Antonio’s BEST!!! lol
There appeared to be several birthday celebrations going on this night so it took us a while to get our food.
The staff were AMAZING! My only issue was for $40 the portions should’ve been much larger. Normal hibachi places fill your plate, especially after paying so much. I questioned why was the cook dicing the shrimp for my hibachi, and why did we have to pay extra for the rice that was supposed to come with it. The staff was great, but this was definitely a first and last time I’ll eat at any Benihana restaurant. I’ll stick to the Hibachi place that I know
Why have reservations if you get there at 6:30 and wait until 7:15 to be seated.
It was fun and Pedro was an awesome chef and entertainer!
It was a new experience for me the food was good the service was great and the chiefs were awesome
Great food and outstanding show of cooking
The place was dirty and the service was horrible. My food was under cooked still raw
