Benihana - Las Colinas
Birthday dinner went very well the food was delicious I enjoyed my time there a lot the staff was more than welcoming
Manni was our cook. He was awesome. Caught every shrimp tail in his hat or pocket. We always enjoy Benihanas.
It worth more for the show, than for the food. We did reservation and come in time, still they make us wait 20 additional minutes.
We had a great experience on our first visit to Benihana. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and patiently explained the menu to us and answered our multiple questions. We all enjoyed watching the chef prepare our meal and had an especially great time eating it! We also had the Blue Ocean Punch Bowl, which is a definite must try as it is a perfect drink and size to share.
I have come to expect a lot more from Benihana. This location was not as high-end in decor as others I have visited. The service was okay. The food was below my standard for the chain.
Had a reservation on Mother’s Day got there on time and still had to wait an hour. People were rude and service was slow. Only plus was I had a great server but that’s it
Not worth the price very loud very crowded no privacy had to sit with Strangers the food was average totally not worth the price and portions were small and the guy cooking puts on no type of show they just grill in front of you and make it hot. Fist and last time at Benihana
I have been to this restaurant many times. Food and service is good.
Main problem is seating. They try to seat 9 chairs around the cooking table. There is no way this is comfortable unless you have children. Max seating for adults is 8 chairs. Advise to tell them before you seat to not allow 9.
This location was nice; however, we made reservations online at 7:30 but were not called back until 8 and then still had to wait for chef for another 25 min. Needless to say we did not finish eating until around 10:20ish. It was during the weekend of Mother’s Day, and they did apologize for the delay in time. This does not take away how delicious the food was! The food as always was good and the chef was nice and engaging. We did encounter a small issue with our soup though, my sister found a bug in her soup, but they did apologize and brought her a new one. Other than that m, I would still recommend this Las Colinas location.
The food was mediocre. Which is finex but we go for the show. Our chef had no energy and didnt do any of the standard tricks. It was the worst experience.
We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation and were told they were very busy and didn’t want to give us an estimated time right away, but would update us in 5 minutes. I promptly asked if it was going to be a long wait like an hour and was told absolutely not. We proceeded to the bar and sat with a direct line of sight to the hostess stand. The bartender was extremely accommodating of our group! 45 minutes later no one had given us an update so we asked the bartender if reservations meant anything? A few minutes later the manager approached us and said he would have appetizers for us and get us a discount when we got seated. We were seated shortly after that. No appetizers were delivered, but our bill did reflect a discount. If you have ever been to a hibachi restaurant you know part of the reason to go is the show the chef does while cooking. Our chef seemed less than thrilled to be there and didn’t put on much of a show. It was so disappointing that another group at our table complained as his young daughter asked why the chef didn’t do several customary things at almost any hibachi restaurant. They offered him a discount as well. My steak was so over salted I asked for a to-go cup of water to stay hydrated on the ride home. Benihana is usually a fun experience and somewhat of a premiere hibachi place, but after this trip we’ll probably stick to our local hibachi places. We were also solicited by one of the employees for their “other job” before we left.
The hostess at the front was rude and inattentive. The restrooms were filthy. Our waitress was nice and sweet but the hostess really made our experience horrible. The bugs in there didn’t make it any better.
They no longer carry the “yum yum” sauce! We were told it was because there wasn’t enough sales. The facts are... You can’t have sales when the chef doesn’t bring it out on the cart. It was always hidden in the back and no one knew about it. It was the best sauce! Lots of people were/are not coming back because of that!
Chef was awesome, very friendly and kind. Waitress was a little bit rude, the meals were not taken well and caused confusion
Went here for my sons 9th bday this weekend. Everything was great from the time we walked in until the time we left. Server was great and engaged in convo with our party. The chef was excellent and the kids loved it. We were able to store our cake in the fridge until it was time to cut and serve, which our server did. While I’ve been here several times, it was the first time I took a bunch of kids. It was an excellent part of my sons bday celebration.
We were seated at a table with a family of 6 and they had a screaming baby and a child who kept banging his glass plate. Meanwhile, at the table diagonal of us there was seated only 2 people. It would’ve been nice to let the family have the whole table to themselves and for us to have a peaceful lunch at the other table. Our waitress got my drink order wrong not once but twice. First she said sprite, then she brought be club soda, and I asked for sparkling water. She told me y’all didn’t serve sparkling water but I told her I get it every time. She eventually brought me the right drink. For my appetizer I asked for salad and she brought me soup. I didn’t say anything because we already had the drink issue but it would’ve been nice to get what I asked for. The chef was GREAT. Super engaging and fun.
Our cook Pedro was absolutely fabulous. The waiter was also very good as well I believe his name was Ryan.
Great food combined with great service. You can’t go wrong with that. I had a fun time with my wife.
It’s was our first time we loved it!!!. Definitely going back
Smells so weird when walking in. Ordered shrimp tempura roll and shrimp tempura came out. Didn’t get the sushi until 30 minutes after we ate. So ridiculous.
I have been to Benihana in Los Colinas many times. Always had good food and fun chef. I don’t know what happened with the chef this time. He burned the mushrooms and two of my scallops.
He went through the motions but did not engage the table. Maybe he is new and was not clear on the customers expectations when they come to Benihana’s. We have had some incredible chefs and meals there.
Also, our waiter was not attentive. I asked for a to go box and he brought them to other people at the table but forgot mine. I waved down another waiter. He never checked on filling our drinks. He gave us the bill but forgot to add the discount. Again I had to waive down another waiter.
Overall it was very disappointing. If I had not had so many good experiences in the past, I probably would not go back. You need to focus more on training your teams.
Never a bad time at Benihana.
There were a few gnats that oddly kept appearing and flying around our table four about the first 30 mins or so.
Spent a lil more than expected, but overall great time and will definitely will return for another visit
As usual the food was great! However this restaurant is the noisiest place to eat! You can barely hear the person next to you. I felt like I was in the military eating in a chow hall. Definitely will NOT eat here again. It was our 33rd anniversary, we have attended Benihana’s each year for our anniversary, think we have decided to move on after trying all of your restaurants in the area.
It was an amazing experience. It was my fiancé’s birthday and our first time going. We had a great time. Great food, great drinks, great vibes.
Space is open so it was really loud. Unlike the Dallas location which is separated by room. There were flies/mosquitoes biting at me and my family. Really expensive for not a lot of food. (Only 1 vegetarian option which gives you very little food) Would rather go to Dallas if I'm paying that much. Or jinbeh which is a little cheaper.
I would recommend Benihana to a friend on "non-holidays". I went with the intent to order what I usually order on any given day. With their "holiday menu" it prohibited me from doing so because our host stated if it is not on the holiday menu it would not be made. My daughter and I removed ourselves from the table and went elsewhere.
Celebrated our 2 year anniversary and went there for our first time and we had a great experience.
I have always loved this place. I live at least 2 hours away and do not get to go very often. We were on our way home from a trip and made reservations. We had to rush to get there on time but I felt like it was going to be worth it. When they sat us we were extremely crowded. They tries to put as many plates as they could together but there were some bigger people so everyone had to sit slanted to get around the table. Could not understand our waitress. We finally understood that it was an Easter menu. We asked for regular menu and was denied. I finally explained to her that my husband was allergic to seafood and all the item seemed to have seafood on them so she finally agreed to give us a regular menu. She was messy and sloppy about everything. My tea had something floating in it and she acted like I was stupid for wanting a new one. Juan was the best thing about the trip. He did well and was interactive with us. I enjoyed him being there. The rest was horrible and I will not be back.
Great food, very flavorful. Don’t skimp on butter. Friendly teppan chef Omar.
It was great!
We celebrated my son 17ty birthday. Drew and Pedro were awesome!! Drew was very friendly and helpful. Pedro was just an entertainer, lol.
The only problem there was not enough room at the table they put too many people and it was hard to eat. I was not to happy with that.
This was my first time at this location and it was good. I liked the food, the bathrooms were clean, the servers were very nice and made sure that we had all our orders correct. I will definitely be back to visit.
Our host was outgoing and attentive. Our chef could’ve been more outgoing. It’s always disappointing when our kids are there and want to be more entertained. We felt the cooking time was long but otherwise the food tasted good.
Always enjoy good food at Benihana. Chef was inexperienced but the food was still good. Had a great time with coworkers.
My wife and I ate in the self seating area. The service was incredibly slow. I think it took about 10 minutes just to get our waters. Once we ordered my wife’s sushi came out in a decent amount of time, but my hibachi chicken took much longer than it should have. She ate all of her sushi at least another 10 minutes before I ever got my food. And for the price the food was just ok. The atmosphere was fine we weren’t too concerned about that. Could probably be improved though. Again, just for the self seating. Thanks
Sunday afternoon was a great time to go to Benihana. It was not crowded and had a lunch menu. Our server was extra attentive since he didn't have to juggle many other table. Our chef, Pedro, event created a few fun things for the table that I had never seen before.
