Benihana - Las Colinas

Very good presentation and excellent chef. Enjoyed the “show” and the food was prepared exactly as requested. Good food, good fun and a great time!

Waitor kept forgetting our food. Brought out wrong food. We waited over an hour before we got soup salad and appetizers. 40 mins for my lemonade

Celebrating a birthday. Our waiter didn’t acknowledge the birthday person’s special day and it was disclosed. The food was bland and our chef didn’t seem to know the routines. We frequent here at least 4 times a year and was quite surprised with our experience this time around.

Never got a refill on my Iced Tea. but it was ok anyway.

It was good. That’s all I can say. Actually, best part of the meal was the people I met who shared my table. Benihana punch is a fabulous drink, I must say!

Everything in general was fine but this was not as great as it was the last time I came. The price we paid for what little we got was too expensive. I have eaten at Brazillian steak houses for about the same price for much much more. My chicken was over cooked but my biggest complaint is that I paid for the six course dinner but wasn’t served my last course which was the desert.

Manny was amazing

Bathrooms are worn and nasty and are always in need of proper upkeep and cleaning. I had to constantly remind our waitress when we needed things. Chef great, food great.

We made a reservation, arrived early, and it still look 25 minutes past our reservation time to be seated, I had to check in 3 times with the hostess. Once seated it took an additional 10 minutes to be greeted by our server and order our drinks. They seemed very understaffed. Other then that, the food is amazing and the staff was nice.

Benihana is what it is.....a fun place to take the kids for a birthday. The atmosphere is fun, the chefs are fun, and the food is OK. I’ve been going to Benihana since I was a child, and will still keep going because it’s a fun place to go. If you’re looking for a tip top steak, seek out other options. If you want to have a fun time and enjoy a decent meal, this is the place.

This was definitely not their best effort. We had a reservation for 7:15. When we arrived, there was no parking available. The hotel next door has signs posted that they tow at all times, so we were afraid to park there. My husband parked in the Hampton a little further over while I checked in. I was taken to a table, but there was only one chair available and we had a reservation for two, so I was taken back to the waiting area. The staff then proceeded to seat a group that walked in after us. When I asked about it, I was told that they needed to seat people in the order that they arrived, but I watched them come in 15 minutes after us. We weren't finally seated until 30 minutes after our reservation time. It was then that I noticed that there were 9 chairs at our table. The table that I was originally taken to only had 8 chairs. If they had simply moved another chair over, we could have been seated at our reservation time, rather than 30 minutes later!
A server came up to take our drink order, but then was called away to another table before taking the orders. After that, we didn't see another server for 15 more minutes. Once we finally got our server, everything proceeded relatively smoothly, but we lost nearly an hour waiting to be seated and then waiting for a server. It definitely put a damper on what should have been a celebration dinner for us. We have to drive 45 minutes to get to this restaurant and it was not worth it on this occasion.

Chef was inexperienced and failed to deliver the normal standard benihana normally provides. Unfortunately I did not have a good experience

Place was terrible. We made a reservation for 930pm showed up 15 minutes early sat down at 930pm. However, when we were sat the table seats 9 we however had 11. So a family of 8 with my family of three. It was VERY uncomfortable and cramped. We hardly saw our waitress. I had to ask for an extra plate for my son. The food making process didn’t start until we were ready to bail at 1045. The table behind us a group of CHILDREN! Got to eat and leave before us. So the chef was great. Everything else was just a huge inconvenience. DEFINITELY NOT GOING BACK.

I was placed at a table with a family with 5 young loud children under 6 years of age

While we’ve been regulars it this particular location for over 7 years, this was the poorest service we’ve had. We’ve seen a shift in service in the past year and have limited our visits to birthday celebrations. My birthday last year we had a terrible service experience which I notified one of the lead chefs about.
This time we came for my daughter’s 6th birthday and literally stayed at our table from 1230-3pm!! We had a large party of 10 but waited 30 minutes for our appetizers and about 20 minutes for the chef at that. The food and show was great and the chef did a great job. Once that was done, I had to pack our ToGo boxes that were waiting, I had to get the manager so that we could get our checks and even to pay, the delay for the birthday song, etc. it was a HORRIBLE experience and I know that Benihana and this particular location can do better. I will note that I’ve experienced both terrible service experiences when the lead chefs (Mannie & Lou) aren’t there. While the management tried to help out and gave us gift certificates, the experience and service was so poor I honestly don’t care to go back. I hate this because this location Has been a tradition in our family but will not accept and pay for poor service!

Chef was great but the waiter was terrible. Forgot to bring our salad, would disappear for 15 minutes at a time while we were out of drinks, and the chef had to bus the table. Thank the chef for stepping up.

The Chef was the best we have ever had of over the past 10 years!

Wait time was huge even though we booked our table.. Chef is in experienced and slow.. He gave unequal ratio of fried rice to people.. He overcooked the spicy hibachi chicken we ordered.. they didn’t serve the ice cream which is included in the order my husband made.. the margarita I ordered had hair in it.. I don’t think I would go there again..

We were sat 20-25 minutes after our reservation time. They were short staffed on cooks so took longer than it should to get food. Because of that when cook left waitress came quickly to clear plates or give togo boxes because she needed to clear us out to close the restaurant. So those who were obviously not done had to take dinner togo. They gave us a shrimp appetizer unexpectedly to make up for it but no one in our party actually eats shrimp. So it was just boxed up to take to my parents.

First time going and the whole experience was amazing I will definitely come back

Great place to celebrate a birthday

The sever was amazing and our cook took his time and prepared the food amazingly, it was me and a few co-worker's first time going and we will be back when we visit Dallas again.

This benihana location was a great experience for my date. There was plenty of time for us to conversate while we were waiting on dinner being prepared right in front of us. It is a great place to celebrate all kinds of celebrations.

I love Benihana and have gone for years. And went this time for our birthdays. Wednesday night, so not crowded. We were sat at a table with only 2 other people, which left lots of room for everyone. But apparently they didnt have enough chefs. We waited for 45 mins after sitting and ordering our food for someone to come out. And the kid that did was not good. He was nice, and he tried hard, but I dont think it was his regular job. I had seen him back in the kitchen from the bar, so I think he was the cook that makes the To Go food. Again, nice guy that tried hard, but the show was not up to par. Additionally, even though we had given birthday certificates to the waiters, we didn't get the ice cream with the candle. Or the usual birthday picture, or singing. Now, the food was good as usual, but we could have saved an hour just ordering take out if we had only wanted the food. But we go there for the experience and this time it was not what we have come to expect.

Benihana was not up to par last night. Our wait person had too many customers. We saw very little of her. The chef missed and broke an egg on the floor. No one cleaned it up so we had to look at it all night. We did tell our waitress and she told us that they would clean it up at night. This may have been why our food was just not as tasty as it usually is.

It was good being it was right before closing.

They are very skimpy on the portions! For $100 I shouldn’t be walking out of a restaurant still hungry. The chefs are also not trained alike and different chefs prepare the Food differently with no showmanship. Also, i had to ask for a refill of my water several times.
