Benihana - Indianapolis
Celebrating a birthday.
Had a wonderful birthday celebration, service and food quality were superb!
2 Birthdays in our party
I LOVE Benihana’s. The service is always good when I attend and the food is amazing.
Food and cook were amazing. It was the waitress that lacked and brought down the experience with her attitude and not being present most of the dinner.
Overall the restaurant and bathroom are in need of a through cleaning and renovation. Everything looks tired!
Benihana is the place where I really enjoy taking my grandchildren on their birthdays! Food is good, service is excellent, and the photograph they take is always special. Thanks!
Chef Ronald was a trip and made the experience wonderful. Was so much fun.
Long wait for our reservation time. Service was very slow. Courses were brought out of order. Server forgot to place sushi appetizer order so that it came late. Whisky sour was all whisky.
I just don't get why it is so difficult to get your birthday recognized anymore. I put it on both the Open Table reservation and told the server that we had two birthdays in our group of five and NOTHING at the end of the meal. We have 10 years worth of birthday photos except for the last two times!!! I am absolutely finished trying to celebrate birthdays here!!! Start advertising that you no longer want to be a birthday destination. We will go try the new hibachi restaurants since they no longer seem to care here!
They still had us wait even though we had a reservation but everything else was great
Chef was terrible. Dropped juggling spatulas many times doing intro before cooking. Did not make usual jokes or engage table during cooking or do most of the typical cooking tricks. Was sloppy cooking, served fried rice with it all over the outside of bowls. Everything was overly doused in butter. Filet had too much gristle and she did not trim it at all so could not eat about a third of it. She tried to serve before reached requested doneness. Left without refilling sauces. Waitress was MIA- never checked back on food, brought requested drink refills, my friend dropped her fork and no one around to get another. Fellow diners at the table had to get there own to go boxes. Complained to manager,Rose, who initially only offered $10 off meal. Finally agreed to $20 off but meal should have been comped. She said she did not have authority to do anymore? When told I would be posting a negative comment about the experience, she tried to renege on the $20 off. Unbelievably bad experience. Very disappointed and not the Benihana experience we have experienced on previous visits.
Made a reservation in advance, arrived 10 mins early and had to wait 25 mins to be seated. Waiter was incompetent and made a few mistakes. Portion size was much smaller than expected.
The restaurant could have been cleaner (I had to ask management to clean my table again), and it was a bit understaffed. Overall I enjoyed my food and the server that I had.
Reservations were at 5:00pm. Arrived and hostess was very disorganized, waited over 30 minutes to get seated and only two tables were occupied when we arrived. Disappointed
The food was not as good as expected the price was high but not quality of food the restaurant was not clean and was pretty loud just not a good expirence would not recommend this restaurant to someone else not what I had expected
I’m tired of this place it is very overpriced for the same thing over and over again. The carpet is really worn and needs to be replaced
We went for my daughters birthday and it was a great time !
We love to attend for birthday dinners. It is very family friendly and the good is very good!
We had an inexperienced server who seemed to be operating by himself, although a little unsure of himself. He did an average job. I continue to have issues with of not being seated promptly when your party is on time. We were on time, all present and were seated 15 minutes after our on time arrival with people who just arrived right before we were seated. Those 2 parties of two (latecomers)were seated before us and got to pick where they wanted to sit and we had to sit in the leftover, rickety, almost falling apart chairs. Food was great as usual but I get irritated with never being seated timely upon arrival.
I was a bit nervous as we were going for a birthday celebration and some of the reviews stated the food and service were below the level expected. Everyone in our group had a wonderful time and enjoyed their meal.
Food was good and server was doing his best. He had too many tables to attend, therefore, long waits.
The food that you get is not worth the money that you spend. Yes, it is very good but the portions are small. You are paying for the meat but receiving more vegetables and rice than anything else. They are not good for birthday's as advertised, they didn't even acknowledge that it was my birthday. There are better and cheaper hibachi restaurants out there. I would only go back if I had a coupon or they were running an unbeatable special.
Great place for a special occasion. Took little kids and a little disappointed that they werent more into the cooking show but the food and service was still great...as always.
Food tasted great! Server was nice, chef was boring, did not interact or do any tricks, poor experience.
Unfortunately I had to go find the manager because our table had no clue who was taking care of us. There were four different people that came to our table but unfortunately again no one was communicating with each other. We had food but no silverware. I wanted an alcoholic drink no one came to ask me that. I have never had bad service here but it was almost like it was so busy no one knew where to go. Once there was a waitress appointed she did her best. It just seemed crazy there. We did get 20% off our ticket and that was appreciated but it’s just the fact that no one was really appointed to our table. Before leaving we asked for a picture because we were celebrating Valentine’s Day and a female stayed she would come and never came. It was just disappointing.
We had a terrible time with the exhaust in our face all evening. The exhaust was not turned on. Terrible experience
Sam is an amazing server. Chef was on point! Enjoy my visits every-time to Benihana
The food was cooked fast and tasted like the grill. I've been there in the past and didn't have this experience. The waiter was inexperienced and the cook wasn't exciting either
Food wasn’t correct and no one tried to fix it . Waitress was too busy for our table as well .
I set reservations and it was everything but that! No organization, slow! It was horriable! I will not spend $100 + never again! Benihana it at the bottom of the barrel.. Thanks but no thanks.
I’ve eaten at theKeystone Crossing Benihana for years now. Although it’s gone through massive staff changes the food was fabulous! I am familiar with the chefs that have been there for a while so the tip is request Fernando or Rodolfo... This trip it’s my daughters birthday so it was special and everything was just right and we had an amazing time, talking with those seated at our table and sharing each other’s moments was the best of fun. I will continue to come as long as we get the kind of service they’ve made me accustomed to! Thanks staff
The food was horrible , I thought they would have flavor to the chicken I ordered like maybe some teriyaki or ginger flavor but instead it was seasoned with salt , pepper and tons of garlic butter . Our bill was 120$ I could have saved 100$ and cooked chicken at home , service was horrible . The appearance of the restaurant is very run down and could use a good cleaning . I will stick to the Japanese restaurant in beech grove
It was extremely noisy. We had to stop the waitress to ask for refills. The chef was not really personable - he did not interact with the guests. The kids next to us kept throwing stuff on their grill and were extremely loud. We had to yell in order to talk to one another. We normally come around 1:30 in the afternoon to avoid the loudness, but the birthday certificate MAKES us come for dinner which I think is ridiculous. You can just say, "come on whatever day you want, but you HAVE to order a dinner." Sometimes people don't like crowds and want to celebrate with just family. May have to look at a different place to celebrate my birthday and my entire families as well.
Poor service...this is now considered to be the McDonalds of Hibatchi.
Go somewhere else please!!!! Slow, bad service, and just down right grimy place.!
I usually go to this Benihana with it being the only one in the city . My last visit was horrible . From the guy that cooks slobbering in the rice and was gonna serve it to us to the manager not doing anything about it and one of the host seen it.
It was time for me to use my birthday coupon but it was expired. The meal was alright but not $100 worth. The service was okay- the server felt new. Had to ask for everything multiple times. Not sure if I’ll be back
Food is great! It’s better to eat in dinning room then bar area.
Yeah, but let them know a lot comes with it. Making a RSVP is pointless. Make sure your order is correct even though you and the manager can't understand the cook. The food is good.
As a past patron of Benihana . I was disappointed that my group was singled out by employee that addressed my daughter attire which was not offensive. Designer ripped jeans, Designer Sweater and designer boots. There we were told business attire but it was a Saturday night and were celebrating my 50th Birthday. He was very rude after that and the Manager ended up being our server. Being a Food service Manager for more than 30 years , there is a way to approach and speak to the Customer.
