Benihana - Houston
Ask for a coke.was going to take a drink. The cup was dirty. It was not washed.it had food on the rim.of the cup...omg
It was a great first experience for my girlfriend. She enjoyed herself and the food and atmosphere was excellent.
I always enjoy Benihanas. Great show and wonderful food.
It was my first time at Benihana, so I wanted to see what it's. I booked a table for myself, my sister, my cousin, and his fiancee to celebrate with a double birthday dinner for my cousin and me. Once everyone arrived, the hostess brought us to our seats. We ordered a hibachi-style five-course meal, plus a bit of alcohol for my sister and me.
We got to watch our chef prepare our meals over the grill, and he entertained us throughout the performance. Everyone else had the steak while my sister ordered yakisoba and I got the spicy tofu steak. Our entrees were delicious! We all had to order takeout boxes because it's just a lot of food.
Afterward, the staff showed up with ice cream for my cousin and me to wish us a happy birthday, as well as singing the Japanese version of "If You're Happy and You Know It." The ice cream was vanilla with a chocolate drizzle, and it had just the right amount of sweetness.
All in all, we enjoyed the experience throughout the evening. The interesting thing was there were at least four other birthdays besides ours during our time there. I would recommend the place for birthdays or get-togethers with friends!
The chef we had was funny and very quick with his service. The waiter was a sweetheart never had to ask for refills he was on it.
The food was delicious. We ordered the surf side. Our chef was polite but could tell he was a little inexperienced. It was incredibly busy for a Monday night but we were well attended. However our waitress did not offer to refill our drinks. We also ordered a sushi sampler which was a little bland. I’ve come to this location though for almost 30 years and have always found it a pleasant experience.
The food & waitress was nice!! Really nice atmosphere!
Perfect for families with kids between 5 and 12.
Menu was not explained to us. So always unsure what each of us were entitled
OVERPRICED AND NOT THAT GOOD...TOO BAD BC KIDS LOVE GOING THERE!
I don't know why I even go to this place anymore, it is so overpriced for what it is!!! On top of that the Westheimer location is sooooooooo dirty!!! The carpet needed replacing 5 years ago and the time before this the roof was leaking! Anyway old news I won't go back especially for the money that gets spent I'll actually get a Filet and Lobster where it is not butchered in front of me!
Always a great family place.
Haven't been here in almost 20 years, but the food is still great and the skills of the chefs is amazing! Definitely worth the price!
Was a nice place to eat had a lot of fun, service was great
Wife’s birthday but no acknowledgment or celebration...very disappointing
Really run down, and under-staffed.
Very good place , great food, awesome place for a date night
The wait, the service, and the food were great! Guests should dress cool because the grills are hot and the tables are close together.
Everything was excellent as always!
The food didn't have a lot of flavor. We had the filet and the cut of meat was okay, but it had little flavor. The rest of the meal was okay, but for $90 for two people, you want more than "okay" (that was with no alcohol). The"show" part of the meal was hokay. The "chef" read more bored than anything. If we go back, it will be a couple of years from now to see if they've improved.
Best lunch staff
I have been coming to this location for at least 15 years as my kids loved the show...we went as a nostalgic effort for the oldest sons birthday and although the food was still very good, the prices have gone up and the place has not been freshened up in a while. We were still eating dinner and the wait staff and manager brought the birthday ice cream scoop and started to sing and we had to stop them and asked them to come back after we were through eating. My assumption in that it was Friday night and they were pushing hard for fast table turns but this was ridiculous...
Benihana is a wonderful experience that should be shared with friends and family. The excellent entertainment with the master like chefs, will appeal to all ages. Benihana is clean and has very fast service, for a packed Japanese grill. This Benihana is a wonderful place to go to for events!
A bit noisy
I've loved going to this Benihanas for nearly 30 years! They make it a wonderful experience for birthdays and other special events or even just for a nice dinner. The staff and management is wonderful.
Waiter dropped plates of salad, and glass got caught inside of my sandal and cut the bottom of my foot. Needed to get a tetanus shot . And not to mention the chicken fried rice witch the chicken was way under done. Will not be going back our cook cooked all the food way too fast. They were understaffed.
Really enjoyed the service as well as the food! Best bet is to make a reservation as the wait was almost an hour for those that had no reservations.
First off they weren’t really attentive to us second I didn’t get the food that I wanted I had to tell the cook twice that I didn’t want vegetables on my food they didn’t want to serve my other friend that came to celebrate my birthday and they did not want to receive my voucher because it wasn’t printed and they said they took a picture of my girlfriend and I but when I went to get the picture they said they didn’t have it so now o was left with no memory of my birthday dinner!!
We went there for my 6 year olds birthday and everyone enjoyed the cooking show and great expedience.
I didn't get my birthday coupon.. I felt paying 70$ wasn't up to d level
Staff (hostess & servers) could have been friendly, the chef was great!
The restaurant is filthy, the roof was dripping large water drops right by our table, the wallpaper was falling off the walls, some had been stapled back, none of the bar tables had been bussed, the bathroom was gross and messy. I tried not think of what the kitchen looked like if the entire restaurant was so messy, disgusting and quite frankly falling apart.
With the noise, it was sometimes hard to hear our cook.
We had just placed my husband’s ashes in the Columbarium and this was always a special occasion place for us, so I took the family along with the Pastor and his wife here to dine. It was a sad occasion, but being at our special place with everyone together made it better. I think it would have made him happy.
Celebrate my birthday every year at Benihana's. I look forward to it and so do my friends
The cook did not look like he wanted to be at work. Not friendly not energetic. It was my friends first time there. Not a great first impression. Manager Michael was great! Bryan the server was GREAT! Henry the cook just needs to remember it is an experience for us.
Reservations don’t mean anything it seems to them. Seems like this place has new management. They said they were running 10-15 mins late. They had 9 open tables. Imagine that. They seated us 40 mins later than my time slot. No sorry, here’s a drink or a free app. On the flip side the food was good and the have fixed the AC.
It was great!
I have been here many times and enjoyed it, but this time was the worst. I rate it one star only because the hostess, waitress and chef were very pleasant and hospitable. The service and food were very poor. We had a reservation but still had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated, and spent over $100 for such a bad dining experience.
