Kyle was a great chef!
i must say this is the 1st time ive gone to Benihana Fort lauderdale and was extremely disappointed. i go to this restaurant at least 3-4 times a month and that night was a disaster, my reservations was for 2 for my friends bday and it was at 7:45pm, the chef did not come out until after 9pm, also we request a particular wine, it was out. i ask for onions for my appetizer soup, they didnt have any. i had to ask the server 2 and 3 times for the same thing. it was the worst experience ive ever had
We had a 6:45 reservation and showed up at 6:44. It took us 30 minutes to be seated. That was the only negative that I really have to offer. After we took our seats, the rest was pure magic. We had Kyle as our chef at the Fort Lauderdale location and he was new, but excellent. We were a party of 8 and it was my oldest daughter's 20th birthday party. We all left full, satisfied, and laughing. It was a night that none of us will be forgetting anytime soon. Highly recommended.
I realize there is communal seating, but 8 at a table is too crowded. When making a reservation I always request no more than 6 people at our table (we are usually 3). I am usually accommodated with my request but not this last visit. I tell them when I get there if they put me at a table with more than 6 we will leave. Next time we will leave.
Unfortunately one of our favourite go to places has deteriorated quite dramatically, from the service and hospitality to the cleanliness. It's sad because it once WAS a great place to have fun and enjoy good food! Sad.

Food was surprisingly good. The plates and sliverwear were greasy and had some old food on them. No biggie. It's a high volume restaurant so it's bound to happen.
KC WAS AWESOME COOK AND OUR WAITRESS WAS ON POINT. LOVED MY MEAL ENJOYED MYSELF. FRONT DOOR CAR SERVICE👏👏👏👏😉.
Horrible experience! Dirty restaurant bad service overworked employees. Hoods not working and really smoky in the restaurant. Not attentive and badly managed. Literally had to get up and leave after and hour and no chef. 20 min for menus 20 min for water 1 hr and only clear (dirty water tasting) soup, pre made salad at 30$ plus per person oh no! Save your money or go across the street to Zaluz or blue moon fish.
The experience was boring. The chef was not at all engaged with us nor did he give us a show. My steak was overcooked. I hope to never have him again needs more training...
food was okay but served too slow, it came in shifts and what was first served got cold, the chef was friendly but really didn't interact with all of the table he also forgot some of my wife's order and he also forgot another person at the table's rice order.

I would not recommend, I went for my Birthday. Not everyone's food was cooked at the same time. They forgot about one person's food in our party so they ate last and by their self. The Chef wasn't well experienced and lacked any Asian heritage which gave Benihana its name. It seems like the food should have been timed good enough so we could eat everything around the same time. Rice was first, then vegetables and by the time we were done with all of that then our main protein was served. Upon arrival, the first person I saw when I entered the restaurant was an armed officer on duty and no one was at the front desk, it made me a little uneasy.
We have historically liked to go to Benihana for our girls birthdays, and this year was no different. What was different is that we had a 7:30 reservation (and 4 kids under 12), were sat at 8:15, started dinner at about 8:45 and left around 10pm. The chefs there always do an amazing job, and I’m guessing that the servers were burdened with too many tables, but it was waaaayyyy too long. The restaurant could use an interior overhaul, too. Staring to look a little too rough around the edges!

Benihana in Fort Lauderdale is the WORSE restaurant my husband and I’ve been to in years. Our reservations were for 7:00 pm, but we weren’t seated until 7:40 pm. The plates in front of us had dried food particles and grease in them. Besides being FILTHY, and Grease ladened, the table we seated was under several air conditioning vents above our heads. We each had long sleeves and pants on, but it didn’t matter. We were shivering. We asked the server several times to adjust the temperature, with no improvement. He finally told us the thermostat had been set on 50 degrees and he moved it to 78 degrees. Meanwhile everyone at the table had icicles forming off their noses and the cold air from the air conditioner kept blowing and it NEVER got any warmer: The table next to us had a loud, extremely drunk obnoxious couple who should have been cut off from alcohol, but the restaurant continually over-served them and never told them they had enough. We worried about them getting behind the wheel to drive home because they were in no condition to drive. Finally my husband went to the manager Jasmine to complain about the air conditioning. She basically did nothing. He went back a second time to ask her again to adjust the air conditioning and also told her we were going to move to another table in a warmer section of the restaurant. It was so late there was no new parties left to be seated at any of the remaining hibachi tables. We took our plates and started to sit down at another table when we were promptly intercepted by Jasmine the manager. She said we couldn’t sit there because she did not want us to “dirty” up a clean table. Everything was FILTHY in the restaurant, including food on the floor. She said we could sit in the bar where there were many high top tables with littered with dirty glassware and spilled drinks. My husband asked for a check and told Jasmine she was a terrible manager, actually no manager at all. She charged our card and threw us out.
as always, the service from ALL the staff and chef's, is courteous and accommodating.
Nous étions 6 réservation à 7.00 assis à 8.00 servi à 9.30 il mon dit qu'il manquait de chef cest pourquoi nous étions 12 à la table qui peut en contenir 8 pour etre à l'aise le personnel est restée polie et il s'excusait pour la situation car il y avait entre 11 et 12 pe sonnés par table ce qui est inconcevable résumée soirée chaotique et gênantes pour moi cependant la nourriture était excellenre
How the mighty have fallen. The service is terrible. The chefs could care less about the job they are doing. The restaurant overall is dirty and the valet parking can't handle the amount of people entering the establishment. I could go on an on.
Not happy with this visit, Very long waits because of cook shortages. They over sat the table I was at to the point I could smell the random person next to me's bad breath. Everything took so long including the cooking because there was clearly 2 more people then the table should hold. For near $40 a plate, this is unacceptable. Never coming back to this location.
