Benihana - Farmington Hills Ratings and Reviews
My brother had never eaten there before and I decided to take him for his birthday. He loved it! He loved his meal, we loved the company that shared our table and Mamadou was very entertaining as her prepared our food. My brother even said that he was coming back soon.
Japanese Restaurant had a MEXICAN speaking Spanish cook our food. Food was delicious however I could NOT see a differences in any of thr dishes besides the type of meat. Nothing authentic, very disappointed. HOWEVER; the opentable reservation worked wonderdul!
I cannot remember our servers name, but we had Will as our Chef. He was awesome.. we just love coming to Benihana's.. my son took a picture of the food and posted it on Facebook and the gentleman across the table got into the photo and a friend of my son's new the gentleman we were sitting with at the table.. what are the odds
TERRIBLE customer service. Managers stereotype and do nothing at all. Act like you are trying to steal from them or don’t want you there. I’m 25 and ate here since a little girl. I feel within the past few years this location has deteriorated and they really don’t care if you are satisfied. Very unkept. The grill is dirty. They charge for everything then halfway deliver. Servers are subpar in appearance and very unprofessional. For the amount of money spent and “strict corporate protocol” followed I expect better! Fire the managers and simply list corporate rules on the wall and call it a day at least then I know what I’m dealing with.
Just to explain the rating - We went on New Year's Eve, so that could have affected the service, lack of floor cleanliness, and delays. Our reservation was for 7:30 p.m., which worked for our close-by 9:30 church service. But, we weren't seated until a little after 8:00, and, while we received our beverages and soup, we then waited at least 20 minutes for our chef to arrive (after 20 minutes, I stopped watching the clock and drank my sake). I'd never experienced this before although this location is usually crowded, but it may have simply been the day we were there. Needless to say, we were late for church, but the food was very good, as usual. This chain appears to do very well, so I'm sure they won't miss us if we take a break from dining there :)
My family decided to have dinner for New Years Eve. I understand that the restaurant was very busy that night, but my family felt very rushed. Our server didn’t even offer us ice cream at the end of the meal and our chef seemed to hurry through the cooking process. we love Benihana, so we will be back, but I just thought I needed to give that feedback. Please don’t make customers feel like they need to hurry to leave.
Not at akl what I expected. Even though it was New Years Eve. I expected it to be full But we were rushed out Before we finished our meal th staff sat plates out making us feel rushed like cattle The chief was inexperienced. It was my son's birthday of which we stated in open table as well as to tbe hostess. We saw other birthdays being celebrated The chief ask if there was anyone, celebrating a soecial occasion That's as far as it went For the cost of our meal we would have been much more satisfued with Shogun
Always consistently good, but this location is starting to show its age. A bit pricey, but you’re also getting entertainment with your meal. I don’t like the pretentious valet parking that they try to force you into. It’s a small lot, I think I can walk 50 feet thanks. Lowest “suggested” tip is also 18% on the after tax balance. I don’t think so...
This place is not the best Benihana's that's for sure. I came here to celebrate my bday & my bro in law's bday. We tried to make a reservation for 8pm but were told 9pm was the only time open and they don't take walk ins. I figured we could show up early and possibly get seated sooner.
First problem started with the birthday certificate which says it is good for the month of your birthday but upon printing mine out, we discovered it expired today (the 27th) and not the end of the month. No code. Luckily, the host said this was a glitch and wrote down the barcode via email.
We showed up early and asked to be seated whenever a table was ready. The hostess said it should be 10 minutes, 9pm comes and goes. It is now 9:15 and we are finally seated. My group of 4 & 2 other couples. They take our drink & food orders but it was 10 and still no chef. When the chef comes over, he tells us the table seated across the way complained so he had to cook their food first and asks how long we have been waiting. We say it's been a while but no worries. 2 people at our table announce they have allergies - gluten & shellfish - yet they decided Benihana's was the meal for them? The chef looked annoyed. They should have mentioned this before. Lady comes back & asks them about their allergies and tells the chef (in front of all of us) that the allergies aren't too severe and he can cook all of the food. He tells her it isn't fair to the 6 of us but the lady doesn't care.
We had to wait for him to prepare the gluten free food, then prepare the shellfish free food - then he start cooking for everyone else. We had 3 bdays at our table and we didn't get food til 11pm. I got the emperors feast - chicken & filet. He must have forgotten to make my chicken. I asked if he had made the chicken yet as he was cleaning up. He said yes. There was none was on my plate. He acted like he was doing me a favor by preparing the chicken, I wouldn't come back here again.
The chef Robert was wonderful, even though I wasn't in a laughing mood he still managed to get a few laughs out of me. He was perfect. Although, my order came with hot tea and it was never brought. Then I asked for it and it still didn't come so I gave up. I was disappointed with that because I love hot tea, otherwise things were fine. Food tasted excellent and perfectly cooked.
Even though the manager would not let me use my coupon (she stated it couldn't be used on holidays, but the coupon clearly did not say that. It only stated that it had to be printed and could be used Monday through Thursday)... I had a wonderful time on my birthday "Christmas" and would definitely go back.
We love Benihana, but this one seems like there is not a lot of space at the table. There was not enough elbow space at the table, so it was not very comfortable!! Me and my husbands plates were shifted to the left , so mine was in front of the man beside me and my husbands plate was in front of me!
I hate to complain because I know you want as many people at the table to make money, but this was a lil bit ridiculous!!
My family of 5 dined here for my son's 22nd birthday and the everything was very good. The food was so delicious and enjoyable. Our chef was fun and friendly and the service by our waiter was also very good. Overall it was a great experience and we look forward to returning some day!
While the food was good, the service was unacceptable. It took almost an hour before the cook arrived at our hibachi table. Had we known that the restaurant was short on cooking staff and were still seating more tables than they could properly staff, we never would have made reservations as we were pressed for time. We had to ask three different times before the cook arrived at the table to prepare the food.
We had an absolutely wonderful experience. My husband and I sat with a group that was having their Holiday party and they included us in their vibrant conversations. The chef was also very involved with the conversation and quite witty. He prepared our food with great care for allergies, for the vegans in the group, and for the rest of us . Our chef was a hoot!
