Benihana - Farmington Hills Ratings and Reviews
We went for a date to celebrate Valentine's Day (even though it wasn't V Day yet, but my boyfriend and I were both going to be busy all day on the 14th so we celebrated early). Even though we didn't go on V Day, we still made reservations since it's recommended. The bf had never been there, and I still had a valid birthday coupon, so I said why not. Sadly, we were still sat 20 minutes after our reservation time, even though we were there 10 ish minutes early for dinner. After we were sat, our cook didn't show up for over an hour. I know they were slammed, but even getting my white rice and my water refilled took me asking the waitress when she would come around, and still waiting a long time for her to come back with it. So, while our reservations for a weekday night were at 7:30, the cook didn't even show up to start cooking until after 9p, and we didn't leave until after 10p. And no, we didn't have drinks or anything. Personally, I won't go back because it's too chaotic there, the prices are high for what you get, wait times are silly even with reservations, you'll leave feeling super greasy from sitting next to the grill, the restaurant's overall cleanliness isn't very good either, it's noisy, the service is slow, and you'll probably get sat at a table full of grouchy strangers.
It was my son's first time here and he has Autism. We had a really enjoyable experience. No meltdowns. But if there was a meltdown the noise level was good enough where his meltdown wouldnt be a distraction. Food was very well cooked per normal and our service was excellent. My aunt has a food allergy so they even prepared her food in back. Great job
It's great fun, the hibachi chefs are always entertaining. After coming for many years, the chefs always have a new joke or talent to wow us with. I usually hate being seated with other strangers at one table, but have learned to not mind it here.
This was my first dinning experience here since being Gluten free. It of course wasn't as good as it used to be for me and my food came out cold from the kitchen instead of hot from the grill at the table but the rest of the family enjoyed themselves.
It's was my mom 73rd Birthday dinner and they couldn't even seat Everyone together after we had RSVP for our dinner ( party of 16) We sat into 2 different rooms and table were available right next to each other. Not once but twice the Manager did not Even try to get thing Right..
Well with the table my friend and I were at the people were extremely rude and loud and obnoxious. Which made the chef and the server irritated so we all got bad serives after that and it only continued to get worse to the point to where I wanted to get up and leave. I understand the customers aren’t your fault but the chef and server was. Almost wanted to say something that day but I didn’t wanna ruin my night after it. Over all the WORST experience by far at Benihana and I have been going there since I was little.
Food was great. But they may have been understaffed, we were there for more than 2.5 hours waiting mostly. It took our chef almost 40 minutes to show up, then it took nearly another 40 minutes from the time we finished eating to get our check. It was disappointing to say the least.
I truly used to enjoy coming to Benihana. But lately the last few times have been very disappointing. My date left his bday coupon at work. We had to jump through hoops to verify who he was. The food was over cooked. The waitress brought us 1 drink & then you didn’t see her again till the end of the night. And then they didn’t even acknowledge my dates bday.
My brother had never eaten there before and I decided to take him for his birthday. He loved it! He loved his meal, we loved the company that shared our table and Mamadou was very entertaining as her prepared our food. My brother even said that he was coming back soon.
Japanese Restaurant had a MEXICAN speaking Spanish cook our food. Food was delicious however I could NOT see a differences in any of thr dishes besides the type of meat. Nothing authentic, very disappointed. HOWEVER; the opentable reservation worked wonderdul!
I cannot remember our servers name, but we had Will as our Chef. He was awesome.. we just love coming to Benihana's.. my son took a picture of the food and posted it on Facebook and the gentleman across the table got into the photo and a friend of my son's new the gentleman we were sitting with at the table.. what are the odds
TERRIBLE customer service. Managers stereotype and do nothing at all. Act like you are trying to steal from them or don’t want you there. I’m 25 and ate here since a little girl. I feel within the past few years this location has deteriorated and they really don’t care if you are satisfied. Very unkept. The grill is dirty. They charge for everything then halfway deliver. Servers are subpar in appearance and very unprofessional. For the amount of money spent and “strict corporate protocol” followed I expect better! Fire the managers and simply list corporate rules on the wall and call it a day at least then I know what I’m dealing with.
Just to explain the rating - We went on New Year's Eve, so that could have affected the service, lack of floor cleanliness, and delays. Our reservation was for 7:30 p.m., which worked for our close-by 9:30 church service. But, we weren't seated until a little after 8:00, and, while we received our beverages and soup, we then waited at least 20 minutes for our chef to arrive (after 20 minutes, I stopped watching the clock and drank my sake). I'd never experienced this before although this location is usually crowded, but it may have simply been the day we were there. Needless to say, we were late for church, but the food was very good, as usual. This chain appears to do very well, so I'm sure they won't miss us if we take a break from dining there :)
My family decided to have dinner for New Years Eve. I understand that the restaurant was very busy that night, but my family felt very rushed. Our server didn’t even offer us ice cream at the end of the meal and our chef seemed to hurry through the cooking process. we love Benihana, so we will be back, but I just thought I needed to give that feedback. Please don’t make customers feel like they need to hurry to leave.
Not at akl what I expected. Even though it was New Years Eve. I expected it to be full But we were rushed out Before we finished our meal th staff sat plates out making us feel rushed like cattle The chief was inexperienced. It was my son's birthday of which we stated in open table as well as to tbe hostess. We saw other birthdays being celebrated The chief ask if there was anyone, celebrating a soecial occasion That's as far as it went For the cost of our meal we would have been much more satisfued with Shogun
