Benihana - Farmington Hills
Food and service were excellent but felt to many people were seated at the table causing an uncomfortable eating experience
First time here, celebrated my twins 15th birthday. While the staff and food were very pleasant, the menu seemed quite minimal. While the 7 year old found something to eat as well, a $12 kids meal was quite excessive when a drink wasn't included. I would come back, but looking forward to more menu selections.
Victor is one of the best chefs at this location. Made a reservation and was seated within 10 mins
Celebrated my 14 year olds birthday there. He had his 13th there and chose to come again for his 14th, so it is good choice for birthdays.
Manado, our chef, and Kelsey, our waitress, were awesome. It was both of my sons first time and they enjoyed it very much.
The wait was long once we got to the Hibachi table. The food was not the Benihana taste that we’re used to. The chef cooked the food out of the order we’re to. The waitress served soup and salad and did not inquire if it was wanted (my daughter doesn’t eat either). Our visit was not the level of service or tastiness that we had become accustomed to at Benihana. I would probably have given the food a zero star, but it wasn’t an option.
We had an issue when we were first seated and had to speak with the manager Lisa or Laura was her name. She was very rude and when we asked her a question. Instead of listening she made a statement and walked away without any solution.
Celebrating my Birthday. I think the waitress was spread thin. She wasn’t very attentive. The other people at the table (whom I did not know) expressed the same sentiment.
Always delicious, Benihana is a special treat. Everything on the menu is great.
My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our first visit to Benihana on Haggerty Road. We were sat quickly, and Page, our waitress was very pleasant and attentive. Edgar, our chef, was very entertaining and clearly quite skilled. Both Page and Edgar were extremely accommodating to my girlfriend's gluten issues, and modified the meal and various courses to make her meal memorable and delicious. We're already looking forward to going back!
The prices are high but the experience is family friendly.
Frank is the best chef at the live table ❤️
Kids love him and he always goes the extra mile showing his tricks to them 👍🏼👍🏼
Our chef was very interactive and entertaining! He made our experience very exciting and our food was delicious!!
THE COOK WAS NOT ALL THAT GREAT..COOK TOO FAST. THE HOSTESS WAS NOT VERY ATTENTIVE.
We were out celebrating a birthday (no birthday coupon needed as I was treating a great person) the waitress made smart remarks and had to be reminded about things that were ordered, the chef didn't do a good job with the food. I was going to complain to management but decided not to because they never do anything especially with their urban guests. I just will try other hibachi restaurants in the future.
We celebrated three birthdays in our group and were each treated special. Our chef prepared our food effortlessly and had an excellent sense of humor. I love the Birthday Club!!!!!!!!
It was my boyfriends first time for his birthday, he really enjoyed the food and the experience. I was hoping they did something special for birthdays, especially when they ask if you are dining for a reason.
I would recommend to a friend, however, there was spilled rice underneath me and my dates table and no one bothered to clean it up before we sat down. We felt forced to stay as it was crowded and if we asked to move it would be a longer wait. There needs to be clean up directly after anyone party leaves not waiting until the end of the night.
Yes, this was the best place I have ever been to. Everyone was awesome and pleasant.
Once seated, we did wait almost an hr for our chef to come out, but overall the food and our waitress and chef were both phenomenal. The food was delicious!
Always great quantity and quality of food. It can be very crowded and loud at times. It seems like it’s hard to find the server at times. Despite this I’m pleased with the Benihana brand and will continue to eat there. The kids love it.
The culture of the people that go there are very pleasant people to be around.
Birthday Celebration .. we had a very marvelous host who cooked very well and was funny. Mike Smith
We were seated about 15 minutes after our reservation time. Service was slow, perhaps due to short staffing. Chef was great. Food had less seasoning than what we’re accustomed to each time we’ve been to Benihana, which is quite often. Overall experience was still good though.
Food was great, service was great but the wait was long for a chef and then we waiting a long time to check out because our waitress was swamped.
Service was horrible. Food overcooked and no flavor.
Although we have a reservation we still had to wait 30 minutes to be seated...however Chef Gabe made up for it.
Dirty restroom and walls
The whole process can be a bit time consuming. Rice was hard. Didn't like vegetables not being cooked together. Steak and shrimp could have used more seasoning. Sushi was awesome !
Waited 15 minutes for them to clean and set the table to get to it for the table to be dirty food left on from the party before. Waited another 25 minutes for drinks of any kind. Chef was the only good part of our evening. My friend who was with us told a manager and they seem less than interested and walked away
Plan on making reservations. We were seated exactly at our reservation time. Our meal was delicious. The table next to us had a young child who did scream for attention a couple of times, but our table was all adults and very friendly. I have some food allergies, and the chef worked around them very nicely.
Service was ok not my best time. I wish was had a better chef
Explaination of service rating: our chef Mike was a 5 - outstanding; our server was a 3 - wine order was incorrect and service was slow but not sure that was her or the bar/kitchen. Seating process was a 1 - most disappointing. 5pm reservation didn’t get seated until 5:25ish. It was after 5pm when the doors opened, rush of 25 people, not all with reservations. Recommend opening restaurant at 4:30 to keep on reservation schedule.
We loved it
The service was absolutely horrendous. The hostess with long red hair was so rude to me when I checked in I almost called the corporate HQ to complain. Then, she was calling out names to accompany diners to their table and I asked her if she said my name. She responded with the rudest NO and gave me the dirtiest look. Our reservation was for 6:30. We were finally seated at 7pm and ordered at 7:45. There was ONE server taking care of an entire section of hibachi tables all on her own. At one point, I literally bussed our hibachi table and put the dishes on a tray. Never. Ever. Go to this location. If you want hibachi go to the Troy location or find another restaurant. The long, red haired hostess then proceeded to ignore us (with a sour look on her face) as we left the restaurant instead of properly wishing us a nice evening. BEWARE. HORRENDOUS SERVICE.
The best Benihana in Michigan hands down.. It actually looks like a Japanese restaurant.. Me and the wife love it
Great as always.
Waitress could have been much more prompt, it was hard to get a hold of her, busy with other tables.
Chef was excellent!
They were out of noodles and the warm sake machine wasn't working.
Our cook was phenomenal. Food was seasoned so well, no sauces needed. Waitress was a little slower than expected, and not as attentive. Overall, as always..... A GREAT EXPERIENCE!
