I feel like this place has dropped in quality in recent years. I had a $30 birthday coupon and still ended up paying like $70 for my meal. I had to remind the chef what I ordered after she gave my shrimp to the guy sitting next to me who ordered steak and chicken and my friend's chicken was a bit bland. The chef also used literally all the garlic butter in the fried rice, effectively ruining the flavor because someone joked she should use it all. Plus looking around at all the other grill stations, it's clear they've not been cleaned in months. Even the photo they take at the end of the night was shot without a flash and put into the paper frame so dark I could barely make myself out. Not sure I'll come back next year.

food was great and our chef was excellent. the reservation process was useless though. we had a reservation at 8 and didn’t get seated until 8:30. no one even apologized for the wait. they even texted me at 7:40 saying our table was ready, so not sure why i made a reservation if it didn’t serve a purpose.

The service was top notch, I celebrated my birthday feeling very welcome and festive, the chef was very mindful and clear about what he was cooking into my food for allergy accommodations, was also mindful of not cooking on the same utensils/grill area as others. Hunter, my chef, was superb!

Unfortunately our experience at Benihana in Encino was not good. We were celebrating my son's birthday yesterday (with my husband and grandsons) and he had signed up for the "Chef's Table" which advertises $30 off on your birthday. When we tried to use the discount, the waiter said it was only good Monday-Thursday! No where on the Chef's Table does it say when the discount is good! We asked the manager and he said that was their policy (and not very nice about it). We had just lost my mother a few days before and were hoping to have a nice celebration for our son. Our service and food was good, but we felt like they had used false advertising and a "bait and switch" when sending emails out for this chef's table. A sad and unfortunate end to our dining experience.

Always love coming to this location especially if you like to be in a crowd. The only issue we had this time around was the ventilation system, something seemed off, it was extremely stuffy - the table next to us had just ended when ours started, felt like we could have used alittle break from the fumes but it’s okay. If you have a seafood allergy please do not come here - for that specific reason alone however there is a hospital directly across the street. Our chef was amazing ! Great jobs and cooked the food perfectly!
