Always good food and service! 52nd wedding anniversary and 2 birthdays celebrated. Great time!
Been going for years, didn't enjoy this time around. Service was poor and cook wasn't experienced which is the "experience". Fodd wasn't very well seasoned and server never came to replenish drinks. I dont know that I will go again.
The server was particularly obnoxious. We sat down and before we had a chance to look ask questions he hurried us with our orders. When my mother tried to order a side salad he told her she couldn’t do it. Then he never placed the order for our appetizers or for rice both of which came 10/15 minutes after the food was ready. He also didn’t apologize for his mistake or come by to check and see how we were doing. After several complaints to the management we got our check and it was discounted but at this point I would never want to go back.
Service was not good and the atmosphere was poor. Floor was dirty. The chef looked like she was sleeping. Despite all that the food was good.
The service was incredibly slow. We were there for 2 hours from the time of our reservation until the time we left the restaurant (on a Thursday in August when the restaurant was NOT full). They were incredibly short staffed. Water was never re-filled and food did not come out at the right times. At the end of the meal, they took a picture for my daughter's 8th birthday. However, when we asked about the picture while leaving the restaurant and were told "the camera was broken" and it had been for a while. Nothing was offered in its place so we asked for the frame to put our own picture in it. So disappointing. Will never return.
Overall I was very unimpressed. The floor were sticky like it was it was syrup everywhere. There was no showmanship from the cook. He was kinda not into it. Maybe I’ll try another location.
My experience today was terrible!!! Unfortunately not acceptable in our standards. We had a birthday to celebrate. First we had reservations for 8:15 pm and never got seated until almost 9:00 pm. Then our service was terrible, they never service us our rice, they did not had the proper sauces to go with our 5 and 6 cause dinner. They never had my salmon on the trade and the cook had to go get it and then everyone was eating and my food was not able to be prepare until almost everyone was done with there dinner. Services was terrible tonight. The level was noise, smoke from the fan not working properly and the level of how dirty the carpet and place was disgusting. I do not thing we will go back to Benihana’s in Dulles ever again and we definitely do not recommend. Others in our table said the same. What a terrible and disappointment this birthday celebration was.
The customer service was great but the chef was not that sociable
Food and experience at the table were great as usual. Unfortunately, the hostess ruined the experience with a bad attitude, lack of information, and a “customers suck” approach to her role. We waited 20 mins past our reservation on a Monday night when the restaurant was far from full. When asked, no proffer of information of why we were waiting well pass our scheduled time, she said she had to let the staff catch up. So, the restaurant’s problem became our problem. Hostess was rude and couldn’t have care less about our dining experience.
Overall it's pretty good, but there are just a few things that keep me from being wow'ed by this place. It seems like the portions are going down on what you get for what you pay. I feel like our plates weren't nearly as full as they used to be. The chef had a great presentation at the beginning of the show, but I didn't see any shrimp flips or any other fun thing during the rest of the cooking/performance. I also had made a note on the reservation to indicate it was my birthday, but the only way they knew was when I presented them with my certificate for my birthday meal. And the birthday singing/etc. was a little lacking. I also find the layout of the restaurant to be a little awkward.
The chef was very good, the seafood was nicely done, especially the calimari and scallops, and the meat was good. We used a Chef’s Table birthday reward which made the cost reasonable.
Server was overwhelmed with a large party behind us after delivering our water (forgot my wife’s drink, but we didn’t ask for it, was too late.) I never received a water refill and we weren’t asked about tea, ended up having it with the ice cream.
The rice should have been brought out before any of the hibachi food was put on our plates, I was mostly done and was left with rice and onions.
I like the hibachi experience, but they have done better in the past.
The Benihana at DTC is a beautiful restaurant. The food was wonderful. Our party was unfortunately seated in front of the kitchen door and adjacent to the bathroom - with two other parties. It was entirely too crowded at our table. Also, the bathroom was not clean - and at least two of the stalls did not have paper.
Excellent service and meal.
It was my Son’s 11th birthday
My birthday celebration. I love Benihana in Sterling..always have a great experience ! This time was not as good due to the Chef. We asked for mustard sauce and metioned the waitress went to the kitchen to get some. He shrugged his shoulders and said good luck. Normally one of the kitchen chefs prepares some rather quickly but unfortunately not this time. The waitress apologized..no big deal. But the Chef seemed to have an attitude during the meal prep and after the meal the other people at out table mentioned it too. I still like Benihana but would not like that Chef to prepare food for us again.
We booked Benihana for our son's 19th birthday. The cook was OK--still learning his bit. The host/waiter was good, but non alcoholic drinks and dishes were a bit overpriced. We had a nice time, but were not dazzled.
We had a great experience. Went to celebrate my son's 18th birthday. He had great time & the food was delicious. The presentation was very nice and service was superb. I would definitely recommend for the atmosphere, the excitement of seeing the food prepared right in front of you and the food is fresh and delicious. Great overall experience!
Dinner with fiancé & his parents. Male server/host came up to us as I was checking us in and said they were just 3 people multiple times as if I couldn’t be with them seemingly due to our different ethnicities . Chef at table seemed very inexperienced. Female server was nice enough. Sushi came out much later than anticipated when ordered as an appetizer. Shrimp tempura roll was very underwhelming but sushi combo platter was ok.
The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either. I came here to celebrate a birthday because my last visit years ago was pleasant, but it’s evident that prices have gone way up while food portions have gotten smaller - real penny pinchers.
The food is under-seasoned and over cooked. This is the third time in the last six months we have been to the Dulles, VA location and the steak, ordered medium-rare, was prepared medium-well. Additionally, the onions were under cooked. We've noticed a decline in the quality of the cooking over the last six months. It was one of our favorite restaurants. However, the Dulles location is dropping on my list of fun, go-to places for dinner.
Overall very impressed with the food and service! Special thanks to the manager, Ron, for being so involved and making sure everyone had a great experience this past Father's Day Weekend 2018! We will definitely be back to try the sushi there!
It seemed that prices were higher because it was Father's Day. The portions were small and one chicken breast split between 4 people.
My family and I really enjoyed our time, the food, service and atmosphere was awesome.
The food was great. We hoped for a better seating as we made the reservations. We had to sit on the side of the table and our chef didn't even entertain us. Was more focused on a family and three kids and when dropping cooked shrimps to those kids. He just didnt even see my kid. I had to ask if he could do the same for my kid as he was also eagerly waiting. We appreciate the leftover veggies and food from cooking for the other family but we just felt side lined. We didnt feel equally important. I requested the host for another table she just ignored and said its fathers day when there were two other tables available.
Just sad... I like Benihanna but not this location and the staff...
Matsutake has better quality food at a better price.
Address: 13049 Worldgate Dr, Herndon, VA 20170
The waiter is very rude. It was a party of 7 that walked out because the waiter was very rude s d didn’t want to explain the menu to the part of 7! They complained to the manager and he did nothing to try and convince them to
The waiter was absolutely horrible, rude and obnoxious. I always leave tip but tonight I could not based on principle as his service was that bad. He was rude to my kids and today is my daughter’s birthday.
This was our second time here. First time last fall was very enjoyable. But we would definitely NOT recommend it following our recent visit.
GMAPS has the wrong address and directions simply took us around in circles.
Once there, the manager on duty could have not been more indifferent about our frustrations. We had 2 young children who expressed that they were very hungry yet service was very slow.
Five of us had to wait for more guests were found to be seated with us before a "Chef" (only there 6 months) was assigned to cook for us. She was a ** cook-and none of the 3 adults were happy with our orders. Very disappointing evening.
The chef and and food were outstanding. The issue was that our waiter was rude and grumpy. He was clearly irritated from the first moment he greeted us. Every question we asked was met with exasperation and disgust. Every drink refill was a bother. And the highlight was when we inquired about dessert. Upon asking what other ice cream selections were available beyond chocolate, vanilla and sherbet that was offered to our children, it was explained to us in an angry yell that they have green tea but it’s an exotic flavor and most people don’t like it.
Restaurants charging $20-50 per adult meal and $10-15 per kids meal have to do better than good food. That is table stakes when charging those prices. The service by this waiter wouldn’t have been acceptable at a budget diner. It was disgraceful and not a manager in sight to ask how it was going.
Waiting almost 2 hours past out reservation on Mother’s Day
Terrible experience for Mother’s Day. They were so severely overbooked people were waiting everywhere. Reservation was for 6:30. They were 1.5-2 hrs behind. Who could wait for that? We had to leave. FYI....don’t take on more reservations than you can handle.
This is not my first pick for Hibachi in the area. In fact, it's my last. The only reason we went there is because it was the only place last minute we could get a reservation. Their food is just okay and you'll wake up in the morning tasting garlic. Our server was great and very attentive. The cook seemed lifeless, not very entertaining and was confused with every ones order. It was a very busy night and I can understand it can be hard to "keep up the act," but an entertaining cook can make a bad Hibachi place better.
Everything was great. Never disappointed at Benihana’s
Very good a services
No odor due prepared food
Every body happy
Great fun, perfect place for a special dinner
Great food, phenomenal customer service!!! A+!
I would definitely recommend Benihana’s Dulles for special occasions like Birthdays and Anniversaries.
Birthday.. the cook was very friendly but the steak was supposed to be med , it was well done. The onions were not cooked anuff they were still crunchy. And the server was very slow my husband ordered a Coke, when it came it ended up being a Pepsi product which she did not like so he sent that back and ordered a beer and that took forever to receive his beer. So usually when it’s your birthday they sing at the table but that did not happen, but the server did say I could have a scoop of ice cream for the whole table but it took forever so we ended up leaving. I’ve ate at Benihana so many times and never really had this type of service.
Been going to this Benihana for years we love it very nice employees
We had a great chef, waiter and overall experience!
Great experience and the kids enjoyed Chef Jonathan.
