Benihana - Denver Ratings and Reviews
I came with some co-workers for a work party and it just happens to be my birthday the week prior. We were having our traditional Benihana December dinner. This time I got a $30 gift certificate to use for my birthday and they wouldn't take it. It was pretty disappointing. A manager even came over to our table and said, Sorry, we won't take that without a barcode. The thing is... I printed it at our office and it was only one page. I checked by printing it again the next day. The food was great and our chef was great. Our waitress was mediocre and management was lacking. I work in retail, so I know in my business that I would have taken the $30 off the bill since it was clearly an issue on their end with what had printed. Just based on principle this will be the last time we go to Benihana for our work party. I can't stand "customer service" where the establishment puts themself above the customer.
I made a reservation for my mom's birthday. She has dietary restrictions. Benihana is usually great about accommodating those, and it's festive. The food is pretty pricey, but that's usually made up for by the fun atmosphere and the sheer amount of food. I hate to give a negative review because everyone eventually got their food and our drinks were always full, but there were some issues that dampened the festivity. My mom's order was initially prepared with ingredients she could not eat, part of an order that had no special accommodations was totally forgotten, and the only side veggies were a slice of zucchini and a bunch of onion (I feel like there used to be more/better veg than that, but maybe I misremember). Anyway, most everything was fixed eventually and everyone was super nice about it. It was just kind of a really expensive strugglefest.
Came with no expectations as I figured this would be a typical chain restaurant experience.
I was pleasantly surprised and so were my other 10 guests including 5 children under 12.
Very entertaining and great quality food (I eat out 3 times a week and consider myself somewhat picky).
I would highly recommend this when you have kids in your party. Guaranteed memorable experience.
the original Benihana's was a great experience, special occasion, dress up place to go, where you got a show and good food. This experience couldn't be further from that. no seating while waiting for our reservation, rude staff at door, EXTREMELY smoky, packed in like sardines. if you like onions you'll be served PLENTY, the spicy chicken was SOO spicy both of us who ordered it could not consume it. cook should have known better, TONS of children, very loud, for the price you would expect not to see half the clientele in sweat pants. went home with sore eyes, headache, empty stomach and clothes that reeked of onion. not returning.
Rice was burned, last to be served with a group of eight, ask that no lemon on chicken a number of times they still put lemon on had to have it cooked in the kitchen after everyone had eaten. Soup was barley warm overall bad experience, we were given a $10.00 credit after all the hassle. We have eaten at a number of Benihana's around the country and this is the worst and we will no go back and tell our friends to avoid this Benihana's.
was not impressed with the money we spent. benihana's not what it used to be. the fried rice was burned, my scallops were burned on the outside cold on the inside. the experience is one that everyone should experience but i don't feel it was worth the money i spent.
We’ve eaten here many times and have always been happy, this last time we went we were crammed in the table really no room to eat comfortably. We waited longer than normal for food to be prepared. Wasn’t a very pleasant dinning experience, food wasn’t as good as normally, seemed to many customers not enough staff . All in all it was good, we will be back again, hopefully next time we won’t be sitting elbows to elbows and quality of food and service is back where it has been
It is something to see and, once we got seated, the service was great. Our kids really enjoyed the show. Food wasn't very good considering the price. However, I didn't have too much of a problem with that because the kids ate and were entertained. What I did have a problem with was the wait. We had reservations and it still took us 1/2 hour or so to be seated. I was pretty close to walking out. Why take reservations if you can't honor them?
the service and the food were really good, but the Chef Justin was nothing less than awesome. Justin's confidence, sense of humor and his ability to entertain, you just can't say enough about him. Your other chef's should take note of his talent and strive for that type of perfection.
Justin thank you for a great experience on our Anniversary!
It was very noisy. I had a hard time having a conversation with anyone. They stuck us in the back corner of the restaurant and pretty much forgot about us. It took an hour to even get drinks on the table. A cook at one of the other tables spent much more time on a show than we received. The food was ok. It did not meet my expectations by any means. The price was very expensive for the quality and entertainment. 3 hours for dinner was way to long for anyone. Especially a family dining with a 4 year old.
