The chef was horrible! The chicken was too big in the rice and was not cooked thoroughly. My shrimp was raw and I couldn’t even eat it. He did not engage the children at the table with any type of entertainment. We frequent Benihana and have always enjoyed our food and the entertainment. Since the change in the chefs, it has gone down hill. We will not be returning anytime soon unless we can request a chef.

Food was fantastic, showmanship was fun. Seated with the exact same people from one year ago on our birthdays. Not planned and so hilarious.
people need to leave their cell.phones put away and stop being so damn rude to others at the table...i will refuse my table again if people are chattimg away and not paying attention to servers. making me wait that much longer

It was horrible the chef refused to make my food sad it made me upset o go to Benihana Dearborn all the time I’m very upset about my experience

Do not book this reservation for lunch. If you are running on a bit of a tight schedule. Reservations mean nothing at this location.
We arrived a few minutes early and still had to wait upwards 45 minutes to be sat. Once we were finally sat it took an additional 30 minutes for the cook to come. Waiting for the cook wouldn't have been an issue , if we were seated on time.
When it came time for checks. We mentioned that we were now running behind, and needed to return to work. It took an additonal 20 minutes to get our checks out and ran. We didn't get out until about 2 hours after our reservation time.
Are Chef Patricia appear to be very tired and overworked and underpaid that's just the vibe she gave off her presentation wasn't all that I feel as though she needs to work on her attitude, people skills and her presentation after all it is her job leave the attitude at the door this used to be a fun place bottom line this restaurant is very ratchet very unprofessional at the front desk wait staff manager.
Reservation was at 1:30pm and we didn't get seated until 2pm. Chef didn't come out until 3:30pm and she was not a good cook. No I was not pleased with my visit this time.
Very good meal. Jose did a good job to keep the food coming and every bit of food was tasty and flavorful. Michael was good at keeping our drinks refilled during the course of the meal.
Cook was not great for the money I spent on our food.. Service was not great for early Easter Lunch... This is one of my Favorite Restaurants, but was disappointed..
The food was delicious and the chef was great. We will be back soon.
Very slow service reservation was for 2 didn’t leave until after 430....everyone was very nice but they didn’t have enough cooks available so we waiting at the table forever
Everything was terrible except the food. The food was satisfactory. The server was mediocre and the chef looked drained. The some of the staff that roamed around the place were extremely unprofessional and rude. I do not recommend this location to anyone. The first few times I visited it was great but the last visit was just awful.
My last 2 visits to benihana in dearborn have honestly been very poor overall. The chefs are not authentic n have had poor skills with their displays and often we had food forgotten and no good service for drinks and so on. Ive been to the benihana in northville multiple times and it is like going to two entirely different restaraunts and for the price i expect it to b much better than my experiences have been...after 2 failed attempts in a row ill definitely be making the drive further to have the experience im paying for. Complete letdown both times. Very sad.
It was an good experience I go all the time with my auntie and we always have fun and enjoy our meals people are so welcoming

We had a gift card for $150, which is why we came here for an anniversary.
It was nothing special. The waitress took almost 20 minutes to bring our drinks, made an excuse that the order didn't get entered right. The food was okay. Our bill was $110 for the two of us, because we didn't plan to come back we tipped the waitress with the $40 remaining on the gift card. She didn't even bother to come back and thank us for a 36% tip. We will not return to this restaurant.
My server was awesome! Very attentive.. I didn't have to ask for anything as he was ahead of the game. My chef was not very friendly. He was quiet which didn't make for a fun, exciting experience. He didn't interact with the table at all.
This was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. It took over 1/2 an hour to even get our drinks. After 1 hour and 30 minutes our chef was still not at our table, it was at this point that my entire table decided to get up and leave. We spoke to a manager 3 different times that evening and they never explained why it was taking so long, they only offered to give us a “discount”. The manager seemed to be to busy flirting with other patrons to actually care to run the business. I will definitely not be going back.
Eli the cook he is always amazing.. however not remember the name of the waitress , but her attitude was bad no customer service at All she was the only bad thing during our dinner
We had friends here from Canada since they don’t have Benihana in their country. They absolutely loved the atmosphere and food. We all especially loved our cook Ken. He made the experience so special once we told him it was their first time there. Thank you Ken and Benihana ❤️
Table grill was not clean. Sat for an hour staring at food scraps. Chef was a total amateur. Food tasted off. Definitely had better elsewhere.
The service and atmosphere is always great. I recommend Benihana to all my family and friends. Benihana is my favorite place to dine.

Food is good. But the service is lacking. Server was her rude. I understand she was newer. But being rude to your guest is inappropriate.
Rachel a manager was rude. Hostess tried to change order for my son's appetizer.
May never go back again, one of not the worse dining experiences ever. plus oil substance was dripping on to us from the overhead fan.
we had a poor waiter who was training someone to be as poor as he was with two of them we still had delayed water drinks apps and napkins
the cook was new he took three times as long as the other cook at the other table we were there over 2.5 hours as much as I asked and asked to have my food cooked with more butter he ignored my request
I believe you should have all new cooks sit at a table with customers and have a meal and they can see what the other cooks do while cooking for the public
I spent 90 dollars that's including tipping the cook waiter and bar tender for a very poor and terrible experience
I didn't want to be that complaining black lady so I just paid and left but its not fair that I as a black women felt bad about voicing how bad my service was because I didn't want to be the stereotype Over all it was bad and stills has me feeling negative about benihana
Ehhh....this is probably my last time going here. It starts out with a loud arguement at the hostess stand. It was followed with a waitress yelling at them because she was skipped in the seating process. 18 minutes after our reservation time, we are seated. Our waiter had a trainee. Both the waiter and trainee were very professional and friendly. They made us think the dinner was starting to turn around. Then one of the people at our table recieved their vegetable tempura with a sticker still on the asparagus. The manager offered to replace it for free, but ended up charging them for it anyways. The chef appeared to be new. He fumbled around a lot, was very quiet, didn't do anything more than the onion train (which still took him a few minutes to set up). The food was alright, but our chef took so long to make each component, the meal felt fractured at best. We were only a party of 2.
Birthday and friends day
I have been to several locations this location is by far the worst the staff is rude and (ghetto) unprofessional.
We had a reservation for 530pm. Didnt get started til after 6pm. I understand it takes a while with a table of 8 people but within 5 -10 mins we should be getting drink orders and getting started. Also ordered 2 beers and only received 1 at first. Our server was told we got the 2nd one at the bar..we did purchase 1 at the bar also because it was taking so long but that was paid for separately. So we still should have received the 2 we originally ordered..no one even asked just assumed..
We waited over 30 minutes for the chef, I’ve been to this location several times before and this was the first time this has ever happened, there were no apologies and the chef was not the friendliest.
I had a reservation and placed me with walk-ins. It took two hours for our chef to cook for us.
Celebrated my birthday at the restaurant. Had a great time with the other people at the table and the chef was very entertaining. Plenty of food, with some to take home.
I haven't been there in a while. Definitely not like it used to be. Less food....smaller portions. There was a lot of fat on my kids steak. I figured they needed it for the grill. I was not impressed when the cook cut the chunks of fat up and gave it to my kids. That was Gross. We still had a great time. The food is still great but not awesome anymore. I would go back.
The chefs was inexperienced and poorly trained
The chef (Ken) was amazing. The food was great as always. The waitress could’ve been a little more attentive but overall I can’t complain about my experience.
Looks like they hired a few new chefs who tend to overcook the food just a little. This is the second time this has happened.
