Rating: ★★☆☆☆ (2/5) I visited Benihana yesterday at 2:30 PM and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the start. We weren’t seated until 45 minutes later, and the greeting at the door was cold and unwelcoming. No “hello” or friendly acknowledgment—just a flat “What’s your name? What’s your order under?” from a staff member who appeared disengaged. Once we were seated, our server was a bright spot—very friendly and energetic, and I appreciated her effort. However, even with her positive attitude, service was lacking. We didn’t receive napkins until halfway through the meal, and only after asking for them—and then still had to wait because she had to go find them. The chef also had to leave the table during the performance to look for sauce cups, which were missing, and returned with to-go containers instead. That definitely disrupted the usual flow and feel of the hibachi experience. On top of that, the order in which the food was prepared felt odd and out of sync with the typical Benihana rhythm I’ve experienced in the past. Overall, it just didn’t feel like the high-quality, coordinated experience I expected. I appreciate the effort from our server, but unfortunately, I likely won’t be returning to this location.

I had to sit in bar area for the sushi special. My food was not great like it is when you sit at the hibachi grill.

If you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience that goes beyond just good food, **Benihana in Dearborn** is *THE* place to be! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warmth, professionalism, and top-tier hospitality. This wasn't just dinner — it was a full-blown experience. **First Impressions Matter — And the Hostess Delivered!** Right at the door, we were greeted by the most gracious hostess. She welcomed us with a genuine smile that instantly set the tone for the evening. She was organized, attentive, and made sure we were seated quickly and comfortably despite the dinner rush. It’s rare to see someone juggle a packed house with such poise and friendliness — major props! **The Manager Was a Class Act** Midway through our meal, the manager came over to check in — and let me tell you, that personal touch made all the difference. She was professional, courteous, and clearly runs a tight ship. You could tell the staff respected her and that she genuinely cared about the guests' experiences. She even assisted with a take out order my son attempted to place for his mother. Leadership like that is hard to come by. **Our Server Was Next-Level** Now let’s talk about our server Brittney — absolutely phenomenal. She were not only knowledgeable about the menu but also incredibly attentive without being intrusive. Our drinks were never empty, our needs were anticipated before we even had to ask, and her friendly, upbeat energy added so much to the night. It felt like she genuinely enjoyed her job — and that joy was contagious! As I celebrated a late birthday **And the Food… WOW.** Of course, we can’t forget the reason we came — the **hibachi show and the FOOD**. Chef Eli brought fresh and favorable food. It wss cooked to perfection right in front of us. Eli was not only skilled, but hilarious too — we were entertained *and* well-fed. The fried rice? Next level. The filet mignon? Melt-in-your-mouth good. And don’t even get me started on the lemonade

Surprise….. a fight broke out and it was our server! So we were left with no service mid first course. Our griller came out with the food even before we got our salads. Our drinks went unfilled for most of the dinner. Food wasn’t great this time around. Didn’t have to pay for entertainment though!

Price has definitely gone up, and unfortunately the food portions went down a little. The steaks seem thinner then they used to be. Taste is still incredible though.

Our waitress was slow and we sat at our table for a good 15 minutes before she came. She didn’t give us napkins or silverware, got charged for our fried rice and I didn’t know they were charging for that, I couldn’t use my birthday coupon. I wish I would’ve known ahead of time that you couldn’t use it on a Sunday, she told us that she would be back to our table because we were her only table left, and I never saw her again until it was time to collect money, she was nice, but inattentive, the food was good. Our chef was good. I was disappointed because our bill was a lot more than I expected.

It was my daughter's 17th birthday, and Brittany and Chef Veto were wonderful in their customer and food services. I truly love how they were so patient and helpful. Brittany, with other tables, came back to check on us.

Was seating 15 min after reservation, which isn’t bad. Finally got drinks half an hour after being seated and the waitress was all over the place and very slow. She seemed like she was on something. An hour and 15 after being seating the chef finally came out to cook. We once again had to cancel plans because of the horrible organization of this establishment

Steve was our chef, he was super nice! There were a couple of kids at our table & he did some sweet things to give the kids a big smile. Latisha was our server. We have visited many times & by far we had the best service we have ever had. She is great!
