Steve was our chef, he was super nice! There were a couple of kids at our table & he did some sweet things to give the kids a big smile. Latisha was our server. We have visited many times & by far we had the best service we have ever had. She is great!

Of all the hibachi / teppanyaki / japanese steakhouse experiences Ive been too, this was the most underwhelming. The food quality was alright, but the chef lacked the energy I expect form these types of experiences. Most of the tricks youd expect seemed forced, sloppy, or forgotten about (smoking onion was done after the food was cooked and thrown away instead of being added to the grilled vegatables). As these shortcomings go, the other chefs at other tables seemed to get more of the energy and tricks down, but still not with the classic expected energy of these experiences. This was especially disappointing given that my girlfriend had never been to a hibachi restaurant and had high expectations for the experience. Also, the waiting service was poor. We had to ask 3 times to receive tea that was included, and finally being responded with a sort of "forgot about that" after other diners received their togo boxes. Also, we had to ask multilple times for the steamed rice, which eventually was brought out when the chef was gone and other diners had finished eating, and my girlfriends hcicken was cold. Benihana has been a staple in creating this amazing experience (which demands a hefty price for the food you receive) but we were more than disappointed in what we received, especially for the high price they demand for the sake of the experience that was lacking.

I’m sorry, but it’s just not what it used to be. The prices were very high and the days of Japanese cooks are long gone. Our Chef was good, but the Japanese cooks were a big part of the experience back in the day. The waitress got my sushi order all wrong and a few things were missing from the dinners. I also remember long wait times years ago, and on a Friday evening the restaurant was sparsely populated. I think they need a redo or a modernization to get back in the busy booking world.

Our reservation was for 6 pm. At 6:45 we still didn’t have our soup and salad. Christine, our waitress never came back to clear our salad bowls or refill drinks. Chef was good, food was good but waitress was awful. We also had to wait for the dipping sauces. The other party asked to see the manager. It’s a small space to eat to begin with so eating your meal with salad and soup bowls on the table made it even less enjoyable.

We drove over 30 minutes and arrived on time for our 7PM reservation (that had been set for 2 weeks) and were told while checking in that we would need to wait 1.5 hrs to be seated. We had a 2 year old and a 1 year old with us and could not wait that late. We weren’t offered anything, the wait staff’s attitude toward the situation was pretty cold. What’s the point in setting a reservation if we have to wait so long anyway? A couple of women waiting for their 6pm reservation had still been waiting around 7:30 PM and were even skipped over as Benihana’s staff started calling out for 6:15 PM reservations. This shows a total lack of organization and care for their customers on Benihana’s part. This was my wife’s favorite restaurant but we cannot go anymore because we can’t risk not getting seated every time because the restaurant clearly does not care about their regular customers.
