Benihana - Dallas
The cook didn't do too many tricks. And the waitress forgot the kids drinks, until we told her.
Awesome place! One of my favorite hibachi!
Kids loved it also would highly recommend to any of my friends.
The person cooking seemed tired and did absolutely no tricks until asked. Also we asked to add fried rice before they started cooking and instead of adding ingredients to the cart, we were served old fried rice from the kitchen.
The tile floor was dirty the chefs are different some better then others waiter was not as good as other but ok
Everything was delicious a bit pricey. Our waiter Juan I'm guessing was new and not very familiar with the menu. It was a birthday celebration for my birthday. I ordered the Benihana trio. He asked if we wanted fried or steamed rice. I've eaten at a different location during lunch and we were just served the rice that is prepared by the chef at the table. Nevertheless we were each charged for additional chicken fried rice but this is not what we received. I did ask for extra rice but for some reason I did not get it. He even became agrumentative with one of my guest about what she had ordered because he simply was confused. Other than that the service was great.
This night was not what we expected as our server seemed to be new. He really took care of the people ordering alcoholic drinks and the rest of us were just there.
We asked for extra dressing (for salad) and he brought it after we finished our salads. The chef did things out of order and the succulent shrimp tasted just like the hibachi shrimp, only $4 higher.
I've been going to this Benihana 2 - 3 times a year for over 20 years. I love the whole 5 course hibachi meal. It's a lot of food so I get 2 meals out of 1 visit. Our waiter was very attentive and courteous. We waited less than 5 minutes for our server to greet us at our table, take our drink orders and deliver them.
My sister ordered one of their specialty cocktails which she really enjoyed and I ordered a half bottle of wine. My sister got the Benihana Special and I got the Splash & Meadow. Our food was cooked perfectly and the fried rice and dipping sauces are always on point.
I did not give a 5 star rating for 2 reasons. Even though I was immediately greeted upon entering the restaurant by the hostess we had a little bit of a wait. I was 5 minutes late for my reservation so that is understandable but the time I waited there was less than desirable. There were a total of 3 host/hostess who apparently had nothing better to do just playing and carrying on as if they just hanging out with friends and not at work.
The other reason being that in the more than 20 years I've been dining here it seems as though not much has been updated. They did re-do the bar. Other than that the chairs look old and dirty as does the hand rails and restroom. I didn't want to touch anything. I still enjoy the food but Benihana please invest in updating your restaurant. I am happy to spend $135 on good food for 2 people but not in a dirty looking establishment.
Our chef was amazing. He did all the regular things but he added in a little extra with his magic. Very fun evening.
My family and I came here for my husband birthday. The restaurant was very clean, organized, and very friendly. The cooks were very entertaining. I will be back very soon. Everyone at our table were in great spirits. I wish I could give this place 10 stars. The cook even took time after his presentation to show my daughter how to eat with a chop stick. We felt blessed the entire visit. The fact that the cook went out of his way to show my daughter how to eat with a chop stick was amazing. He doesn't even get paid for that
It is always a pleasurable experience with kids. I do NOT like waiting until all the party is VISIBLE before being seated. One member of our party was regrettably late. When she did arrive, she texted to say she was here and my daughter walked out to meet her. I went to tell the host, and he said he could not seat us until he saw her. REALLY?! That is lame and lets me know how much I am valued for the truth of my statement. I view that as poor customer service. AND...who CARES?!? Who cares if we are seated absent one member and we can begin drinking a soda at the table why we wait? You're still getting the same money and possibly more as they drink down those little sodas. The cook was not really engaging. They are not little kids so we didn't really care, that's more just an FYI. Overall, it was good...really. Despite these things, my daughter and her friends enjoyed themselves and that is all that matters. I was just less than impressed.
Great food. Fun evening!
Family night out
Omg! Its been at least 9 years since my last visit. I must say the out door fish have grown..they where huge!
So it was my birthday. I had a great time. Food of course was hot and fresh!! I went with a friend that's very hard to please..and she loved it!!
Had a great time. Hope to see Benihanna very soon:)
We arrived at 9:30pm and was seated however were not waited on utill 10:30 pm our waiter who’s name was Johnatha walked past us multiple times without acknowledging us the couple on the end of the table found someone walking by and asked them for water since no one greeted us. It was like we were forgotten about. Our chef Mango was excellent!
Awesome place with very good entertaining meal
y olny disappointment was spent 11 dollars on a drink and when I finally got it was watered down. I told the waitress she said I drank to much of it to take off my bill. Being a single person who rarely goes out to eat and spend $125.00 that meant a lot to me. Not enough to not go back again. The chef was great.
Get on their birthday list. You cannot beat a $30 dollar gift card every year for some well cooked steak and seafood. Sure it's going to be loud, and you will rub elbows with strangers unless you go with 7 or more people, but the food is worth it!
Benihana's is actually my favorite spot to dine at. I love the food and I love the experience. It never gets old. I tell everyone that I know about Benihana's. Excellent service and an amazing experience.
The chef seemed rushed. The tricks that the chef did where not that impressive like I said he looked like he was being rushed. The fried rice wasn’t completely covered in seasoning and sauce there where clumps of white rice in the fried rice. The shrimp had no seasoning or not enough of it. We have always loved coming to Benihana’s for dinner but Friday we where very very disappointed. The waiter was on top of it with refilling our drinks and making sure we had everything we needed.
Waited 30 minutes for table even though we had a reservation. Waiter abandoned us after we were seated. 10 minutes later came back to get drink order, and rushed off. Hibachi chef did a lackluster job and hardly had any interaction with table. Fried rice was dry and over cooked. Food was tasteless and had no flavor. Spent $400 for a poor experience and substandard food.
We waited TWO hours for the chef to come after being seated and the food was terrible.
Our family has always loved Benihana. This location needs some upgrades. It looked unkept. The entrance was crowded and the seating process was chaotic.
It was a great experience. Our server was amazing. Our cook put on a great show. I will definitely be coming back.
It was an amazing place that I'll definitely visit again.
We had an awesome time. It was the perfect choice to celebrate my wife's birthday. We plan to come back with our kids so they will have an opportunity to experience this fine restaurant.
Birthday dinner for my twelve year old. It would have been better if we’d been greeted immediately and told of the few minutes wait time. Instead, the person at the front desk/ podium remained fixed on their computer screen and told us to wait. The restaurant, in general , could be a lot cleaner. Our menus were dirty causing us to not want to handle them. The chef and wait staff were friendly. Although, I included on the reservation that it was my daughter’s birthday, it was only recognized when I pressed the waitress.
I would but only thing me n my best friend order was taking wrong so we received the wrong food n it was to late to change it so paid so much money for stuff we didn't even order
Went for my bday they managed to get several orders wrong. But the guy cooking was able to roll with it.
The staff was wonderful...they made my birthday lunch very special! My daughter and I truly enjoyed the experience.
I was not happy with my last visit and will probably not visit this location again. Our service took forever and our chef was very sloppy and food was everywhere, even the plating. For the price, i felt it was unacceptable. We were celebrating my birthday and 20yr anniversary and never acknowledged.
The food was great just take some time to get going.
I always enjoy having dinner with friends at Benihana! The food is wonderful and my friends and I really have fun with the energetic staff -- especially Chef George! We try to request his table our chef when we make reservations!
I spent $40 for filet mignon and got a Reg steak! I ordered colossal shrimp also it’s supposed to been 5 or 6, I only got 2. They tried to lie and say it was, I didn’t argue! Karma do the work for me! It was my daughter birthday only 1 staff member came to sing happy birthday. We had to ask for them to sing a bring the ice cream. Specifically made reservations for a BIRTHDAY dinner! Worst Experience ever..
Still waited about 30 minutes even with reservation. Other than that everything is good
Floor was really dirty. Table next to mine was not cleaned or dishes cleared for about 20 minutes after we were seated. The interior looked like it did 10 years ago (dated). The host was yelling that she was going to cram people to tables in a min. Thought I was at nite club. 😂
Great food and experience.
We had reserved 3 tables for 8 for a company dinner..we knew we would not all be able to sit in same room..the young hostess was rude and acted put out by us..the young man who was our cook..was very rushed and really didnt do much as far as entertainment. The food was not very good, very little flavor. I had never been to a Benihana's before. I wasn't missing anything. I would not go back or recommend this place..at all.
Was great. Can’t wait to go again
After many years of excellent service, this visit was a disappointment. The service began slow with the waiter bringing out the drinks (hot tea) after a considerable time from being ordered, the soup was cold (all for a party of 5) and the steam rice arrived well after the meals were cooked and served. The chef was also disappointing. He appeared disheveled as if he had just gotten out of bed. His apron/overshirt was dirty (especially his shirt pocket, heavy with egg stains) and he splattered food all over the table and on guests during his preparations. The fact that he re-sheaths his knife after each portion of the preparation makes me wonder what all is living inside the sheath. Nevertheless, the waiter and staff were all friendly and polite, it was just this attention to detail that distracts from the overall experience. I will not let this one visit prevent me from returning because as mentioned earlier, I have experienced over 30 years of satisfaction with Benihana's.
