Benihana - Cupertino
We celebrated a birthday as we have done many times at Benihana. Great chef he was very witty and good. He had a special touch to things. He wrote 23 on the heart rice for my daughter’s birthday.
The service was good and the waitress was very nice but at the end of the evening it took a long time and things drug on.
The check took a long time to receive.
So I enjoyed the meal and the people working were all great. It was just a long ending
Chef Calvin is one of the best Chefs we had at Benihanas’s. He is very friendly & on point with the food, everything was delicious.
I think you should have more kind of dessert for birthday people like a little cake or something like that!!!
Chefs are best here - very good. The twin lobster was fantastic, BEST fried rice and fresh cold salad.
Need more bus people to clean table. Dirty dishes...
My husband and I came in because I am 9 months pregnant and cooking has become challenging. I started to crave that amazing fried rice! So my husband decided he would take me weekly! We love Benihana so much! We also just moved to Sunnyvale so we love how close it is to us. Thank you for everything.
Went here for my birthday. Place was a bit worn, but I guess it's because it is so popular. Not very authentic, but was entertaining. I would return.
Our service was very slow. Cook came to our table late
Was hard to get our waiter
Have had much better service
Out server was so rude and rushed. We also got charge some $30 service fee when we were only a table of 5 ppl. Without us even knowing.
No other like it! I wish I had they grill and one of they chefs.
Great customer services. Our waiter (sorry forgot his name) was friendly and nice
It was a Birthday Party and we had a nice time with no issues.
Not sure if our cook was having a bad day or just moody in general but there was no interactions with any of the customers. He just his introduction and got straight to cooking. Yes I know I’m not there for him to be dancing and stuff but expected a little more interaction or at least a show. I looked at other tables and they are all having a good time and the chef made an effort to entertain the guest. Food was ok and didn’t really have much flavor. For the price I’ve paid I expected more from the food as well. Now I know why I haven’t been back here.
Great service and food. Made celebrating two bdays awesome.
Benihana’s is a fun place to celebrate holidays with friends and loved ones! Changes in the menu did not go over well with my family...salad dressing had a weird texture, soup croutons gone, vegetables cut in a new way.... and portions much smaller for the high price. We will go back however, because we always enjoy our time together. Our chef... sweet bit disappointing!
Hilda did an excellent job/show! Love the fact she served the veggies first (due to allergies). Should always be that way.
Celebrating my son’s birthday. Waitress and cook were great!!!
Chef Calvin was excellent but he did put a little too much salt on the filet mignon. Excellent service and fun atmosphere, thank you.
Too much pepper on food.
Waiter forgot our birthday ice cream, almost forgot the picture too
We always love Benihana, especially for our birthdays! Alex, our Chef, was wonderful, very entertaining and a great cook!
This place has gone down. I have no words. I paid for a show... I can cook for myself instead!
This was the worst Benihana we have been to. The cooks did no show. Not at any table. Took my kids for a fun dinner and didn’t get what we had hoped. Severely disappointed. Don’t waste your money or time going to this location.
Always fun, festive, and as of the last few years my husband and I always ask for our food prepared without butter. Chef is always happy to do this and taste is never compromised. We love it.
It was a great experience. We went for my daughters birthday and we had fun. The cook was very interactive. We will be back.
Food was delicious and great service. We will come back soon.
Service was much better this visit. We only waited maybe five minutes for our tables as opposed to 30 or more on past visits.
Upon arrival, we headed to the bar to await the rest of our party. We are asked if we have cash as their credit card machines are out. Fortunatley we had a little, enough for 1 drink for 2 o us.
Waitress didn't look up at any of us, didn't respond to our questions, took order never to be seen again.
Chef wasn't very interactive - food was ok.
Waitress screwed up the 2 dessert orders and actually started the activity of singing happy birthday at the in the midde of the table right next to us. Real special moment for both birthdays. Waitress never asked if anyone wanted dessert, only the 2 that it came with.
This Benihanas has gone downhill - stay away.
Mike the cook was great n was put at a Table with great people ( company )
Great food and reasonable prices
Lots of fun
I was there this past Sunday to celebrate my birthday with some friends, our server got mixed with our drinks, the chef was so quiet, maybe tired we didn’t get a nice experience that day, I been at Benihana bunch of times this was the worst. I made the reservation for a birthday, I even told the server it was my birthday he didn’t even care he just said happy birthday at the end nobody came to sing happy birthday like they used to but they were singing at other tables, for some reason our food wasn’t as good as other days I just had a bad service that day.
My son had a great time celebrating his birthday!
I was disappointed to see that our table that we were seated at was still dirty from the previous cust. I had to ask the cook to wipe it off better before he started cooking our food, there was still food particles on the table. Also when the waitress asked my son what flavor ice cream he wanted since it was his 18 birthday, she didnt ask us if we would like some, instead i asked her. and she said well his is free yours didnt come with the ice cream, I said well pay for it. I thought she could have handled that more professionally. Also our 5 course meal said we get GREEN TEA which we never got. We spent A lot of money and i felt the service was not what we paid for. We've been here a lot of times for our families birthdays and thois time our experience was very disappointing.
Great food, fun experience.
Great for any family event.
I say "yes" with certain expectations in. place. It is not a place for a couple to dine. Strictly for a group of 4+. Great for children, due to the novelty and entertainment factors. They did adhere to our allergy issues for one child, very well. Our chef was not Japanese, or even Asian, for that matter. No fun tricks were performed, which we kind of expected to be part of the fun. He tossed a shrimp tail into his pocket twice. Big deal. Oh yes, we did get a little onion "volcano" light up. So, okay two gimmicks. I've seen lots better and more impressive tricks and fancy grilling demos done in past. The food was good, but not a "wow". Boring soup, with salty chicken broth and a few mushrooms floating on top. No green onions or tofu.
A great spot to celebrate birthdays (with sign up for chefs table). Can take little while for service, but you are there for the show anyway!
Service was tentative and the food met expectations, as usual. Always a great time.
I have been to Benihana on numerous occasions. It was my son’s 8th bday and we wanted to go somewhere he can be entertained. Our cook must have been new, because the entertainment she provided was boring and under skilled at best. She also cooked one item at a time, cooking my 4 year old and 8 year old’s chicken at the very end. Instead of cooking multiple food items on the whole grill, she would cook the steak, then serve it, then cook the lobster, then serve it, then cook the vegetables, then serve it, etc. When it came time to serve ice cream and sing happy birthday to my son, only 1 person sung the traditional Benihana birthday song and barely loud enough to hear. The table next to us started their dinner 30 min after my table and they had their ice cream and three people singing before we finished our ice cream. My kid’s ice cream didn’t have whip cream or a cherry like the table next to us did. I will never go to Benihana again and I will discourage my friends from going. I will spend my money at Kyoto Palace instead.
Been going for over ten years plus and this time was a lit disappointed bc they seated us all the way to back end and table was very old and kinda of dirty and chairs were old and weak. Just very disappointed on that a lot :(( And my lobster 🦞 was not that fresh and a lit bit salty. But, overall everything else was just ok.
We were celebrating my 50th birthday and the waiter didn't even bother to acknowledge or sing a birthday song or bring something with a candle on it and food was not that good either for the price you charge. The experience overall was not good and didn't care for our waiter at all. He did take a picture and handed the picture with out. Cover or something to put it in so it doesn't get damaged , very disappointing. Won't come back for another gathering.
