The waiting is too long. We reserved at 1945 , didn’t start the cooking part til 2130ish. Almost 2 hours. Good thing we ordered sushi . You have to do do something about this. Maybe add more chefs . But Mariano, our chef was great.

I'm the most dumb guy. Cause I been at Cupertino several times and every time is worst. I will never go back to this supposedly fancy restaurant. I a totally wack don't waste your money. 2 adults 4 children for a $400 bill and is my worst experience ever. Better go to HOUSE OF GENGI on San Jose. And also I. MAD with open table how come you recommend a restaurant like that. Bye SO EXPENSIVE FIR A REGULAR PLATE. DONT ASK FOR MY EXPERIENCE IS A WASTE OF TIME

Mike was a great chef, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. My only issue was the delay. I had a 7:30 appointment and figured it would only take a few minutes to get to it from the restaurant. So a 5 PM reservation would be ample time. Even with my reservation, I was not seated until 5:40. The food was excellent once things got going, but I had to ask for my check and barely got out by 7:15.

We arrived at 6:15pm right on our reservation time. We waited 2 hours before being served. Then at the end waited another 30 minutes before the check comes after our dinner.

We were seated on time but had to wait 45 minutes to get our drinks…and then they only brought out 1 persons drink and we had to wait another 10 min to get the other 3 drinks. The chef and waiter kept getting confused on who ordered what. Service was super slow. We were there for 2 1/2 hours. We’ve been to this Benihana many times and never had an experience like this before.

We made reservations for 8pm, got seated at 8:30pm and didnt get a cook until 9:25pm. In addition, our server was lethargic at best. It took her 10 minutes to get our table after we were done eating.

Food is always good, we go every year. But somehow each visit we have the worst servers. They forget items and/or forget to order items. This last time our appetizer came out after everyone had already finished the main course.Then I ordered a take home salad dressing and instead got a side salad. It took our server extensively long to complete any task so I did not bother to try and ask him to fix this after several mistakes we were exhausted. Everything is good here except for the servers we get. I do my best to be understanding as both my partner and I have worked in restaurants for more than a decade but the level of service is just lacking. Cooks, bartenders, and hosts were all decent.

This was a second dining experience in about 4 weeks. The previous was extremely crowded and no where to wait and definitely no where to sit for the wait. Also, our reservation time was pushed back to 45 minutes or so. Last night was the exact opposite! There was sitting space to wait. However, the noise level was still overwhelming - as we waited, we could hardly hear what each other was saying. We were - this time - seated fairly quickly. Additionally, the food was more flavorful with much much spices added. Also, we were asked this time if we wanted some soy sauce which added to the flavors of the foods chosen. It would have been much better to have water served for everyone instead of having to ask. It would be nice to have tea served with the meal as well or at dessert time. I do enjoy the foods and the creativeness of the chefs - very humorous! The food, the quality of it, and the amount of it is excellent. Will always try to dine at Benihana whenever I can.

The food was cooked just perfectly. Luis was our fantastic chef and Mia was the hardworking table sever. They were both excellent their jobs. The back of the dining room needs better ambiance and more air conditioning.

The server and the chief was great. I got unlimited refills of lemonade. They were very nice and interactive. I definitely recommend going here for any special occasions (birthdays and graduations), but maybe just once in awhile because it gets pretty pricey. Make sure make a reservation ahead of time. Enjoy!

We had reservation at 11 which is the hour they list as the opening hour. We arrived 1 min early and the restaurant is not ready to open at all. The manger was not in a good mood. We checked in and he just told us to wait in the bar area where you can see people are trying to unload things and etc. So we waited for 20 mins. We thought we were being nice to let the manger know there’s water all over the bench ( where he told us to sit and wait. Luckily we choose to stand ) and he just looked at us like what do we want him to do. After 5 mins, he finally realized someone needs to wipe the bench dry 😂

Reservations where actually on time, The chef was funny, made it enjoyable. The server could have checked up on us more he only came like twice and the second was because we asked the chef to call him. I understand when it’s busy but again, took a while. Overall it was a pretty decent dinner.

Our waitress was the worst. I don’t know her name but she was wearing a mask and glasses. She looked confused and took forever bringing us anything. Once she dropped something off, we wouldn’t see her again for another 20 min. We had to ask other servers for help since we didn’t even know where our server was, she barely checked in on us and we were waiting for the cook for close to 2 hours. The cook was great, made up for the horrible service. Then when it’s time to pay she comes back and says she couldn’t take it anymore watching everybody eat so she took her lunch break which is why she wasn’t around. She kept trying to make small talk as we received the bill. It was just irritating because the whole 3 hours we were here she was no help, but now that it’s time to pay u want to be chatty. She made us not wanna go back. Worst waitress

I arrived at 7:30 PM. My reservation time they serve, didn’t make it to our table until 8:25 PM. Our waiter Geraldine was really rude. She took my nieces order for ice cream and never brought it out and embarrassed us in front of the other guest, seated with us. This was my first time at Benihana‘s and I promise you I will never go back. I refuse to spend my money with people who are racist and treat people any type away on their birthday. This is not the place don’t eat here if you are of color

This was our first time trying the place and we went in with high hopes. The experience didn’t start off the best, with one of (what I am assuming is) the managers yelling at the hostess and barking orders to any employee in her sight. This was accompanied with a 20 minute wait after our reservation time, which usually is an issue… but not gonna lie the chaos was quite entertaining. The food was great, and service was fast once we were sat down. Thank you to Roger our waiter, and victor our chef for making the rest of the night great!

Made reservations for my dads birthday for 6:15 didn’t get seated until 6:50. That part was extremely frustrating because we made the reservations for a reason and the host was extremely rude. After time went by my sister asked her how much longer because we do have a reservation and she was rude and had attitude and told her there was two parties ahead of us but it took about 4-5 more parties for us to finally be called. BUT, our server Josh was GREAT and our chef was GREAT as well. Josh was on it and made my dads birthday great. If it wasn’t for them and their great service we would of had a terrible experience.

The service including the check in process was disorganized in my opinion. We had reservations and still had to wait almost 25 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. Then we got to the table and once we ordered our soup and salad came the same time as the cook.

The food usually leaves me wanting more. It was bland and didn't have a lot of flavor. We ordered grilled shrimp for appetizers and got tempura shrimp. We needed drink refills for a long time. When server finally came, she refilled only 2 and other people had to ask her for refills. This is just a given if a glass is empty, refill it, or ask the guest if they need more. We were forced to tip $75 and felt ripped off because the service and food weren't great. We also asked for no sesame oil be used on the food, but the chef sprinkled sesame seeds on the rice. We told the server we had an allergy at the table.
