Benihana - Coral Springs Ratings and Reviews
It was my daughters 17 th birthday. They were told At the front and the cook was told . The server never even asked if we were celebrating anything like they normally do. They came to the table to sing happy birthday to the other person at the table in the other party and walked away. I saw that my daughter was upset and disappointed. The server offered to bring her ice cream . It’s not about the free ice cream. It’s about my 17 year old being disappointed and feeling like her birthday wasn’t special or celebrated. I️ called the manager the next day and spoke with Adam although he was apologetic he basically told me it was my fault for not making it clear to the server that it was her birthday. That may have been easier to do if the server actually had been at he table a little more .
Thank you for your time
This was my first time eating here and it was thoroughly enjoyable. There were some bad reviews when at looked at this location, but decided to give it a try anyway. That was a good decision! Our waitress was amazing, very friendly, and always checked on us at an appropriate time. The chef Cesar was fantastic! Super funny, gave a great show, and provided great food of course! Will definitely be coming back to this location soon!
Food was great, and our waiter David was outstanding. He was very friendly and accommodating. I️ visit Benihana several times throughout the year and lately been having not so great service . Tonight we celebrated my husbands birthday with family and I️ wanted to have a great overall experience and I’m glad we came to this location. So from now on if I️ want great service and dinner , I️ guess I️ will have to travel 4o minutes from home because I️ live in Dade. Thank you David and Benihana staff.
Shared a table with some very ignorant people. They were totally drunk and rude. Started to talk to my kids and tell them they need to sing Happy Birthday to their friend. At which point I told them don't talk to the kids then they start to say oh we're in America go back to Pakistan. At which point I ask the manager and we were moved to a different table. I feel the situation was handled wrong and that those people should have been kicked out because Benihana's refuse to serve them more alcohol. Benihana's give me $27 off my bill but I feel that is situation like that should have been handled differently and those people should have been kicked out.
We had a reservation and were seated about 15 afterwards. Waited about 20 minutes for drinks. Over all we arrived at 820 and we left at about 1120 pm. Being there was 3 hours is ridiculous. After waiting for drinks we waited a while for the soup and the salads came after the chef arrived at the table. The chef had a small box he kept putting food into while he was cooking. Food was very salty thats about all you could taste. Food was not as good as it used to be. I usually come here for my birthdays and friends birthdays but now I think we will be going somewhere else.
we have gone here a few times and this time it was my birthday. i also had a birthday coupon sent by benihana and it ended up I couldnt use but it was sent by them. Our cook was so dull and my chicken was under cooked. I didnt even eat it and he never asked "what was wrong as he saw I didnt eat it". Horrible experience
The restaurant was not clean at all. The first of all, our table smelled badly. That smell came from a dirty towel to wipe the tables. I could not breath and covered my nose all the time. From the beginning, I lost my appetite. The most I did not like, was that the chef scraped the teppan table in front of us. The teppan was dirty from the beginning. Even a small bug was running. When he scraped it, a lot of black burnt crud powder came out from the surface of teppan and he wiped them with a towel. But he ocassionalky uses that towel. They should clean teppan perfectly shinning before the customer comes and also the chef clean with a clean towel in front of us again just like Benihana always did before. I am also very disappointed quality food was down even vegetables. I am not sure only Coral Springs is not good. Especially the sauces for meat and even their salad dressing taste was not right. I may understand meat quarity down because the inflation. But good sauce may cover or good but small portion for keeping the price. If Benihana keeps serving these kind of food and condition, I am sure they loose their customer gradually. Rocky Aoki will be sad. I am a Japanese and I think I know what is Japanese food and our service. This is not only complaining. This is my wish they change better. I’d like they serve good food like before and keep a good reputation that Ricky can be proud. Thank you
I usually look forward to eating at benihanas because I love the food and ambiance but this night I was so disappointed. Our waiter not only forgot what we was asking for but he brought out our drinks on a tray & before handing them out he rubbed his hands together over the drinks like he was trying to remove something off the palms of his hands, who does that? Why would I want a drink that u cleaned your hands over? And then we get our food and the rice grains were not fully cooked. We told the chef & his attitude towards our complaint was "well there's nothing I can do about that" at that moment I called for the manager because that was so unprofessional!
We made a reservation for 8 pm and we arrived at 7:50, we were seated at 8:20 and the cook finally arrived to the table at 8:50. Walk ins that walked in with us we're also seated with us. The hostess was rolling her eyes at us and didn't even tell us it would take an hour to be serviced. Why even have a reservation?! The cook and the waitress were really nice and friendly though.
Also, the interior of the restaurant did not match the exterior at all. The interior looked outdated and crowded but the exterior was new and modern. So confusing.
Service was horrible, my food was incorrect, the chef was lost. The only reason why we stayed was because of the two ladies who were sitting with us. No chicken in the rice nor were we given veggies after we all ate everything off our plate. I’m highly disappointed.
The wait time to be seated was reasonable (10-15 minutes). The best part of the evening was the server (Bethany) who provided excellent service. She brought out the orders for the table accurately and her follow-up was very good. On the other hand, the food cooked table side lacked flavor. My mother and I requested that our fillets be served medium rare but were served medium. Fortunately, the meat was still tender. Although I requested that the vegetables be thoroughly cooked, the zucchini and onions were served raw and also lacked flavor.
I have been eating at Benihana's for 30+ years. However, the quality of food over the past several years seems to be going down which is why my family visits this location less frequently.
Went for my Grandmother's Birthday at her request. Food was just what you'd expect from Benihana...plenty of food for even the hungriest appetite. The service was where things really went wrong...server was friendly and polite but rarely seen. She disappeared after taking drink orders, brought waters back, but drinks from the bar didn't come back for 25 minutes. Similarly, when we were done with our meal and hoping to get a check she was MIA. We went and tracked down the manager who said she's right there and pointed to another table. "What can I help you with," would have been nice, but he just walked away. The server finished the other table's order and disappeared. She resurfaced 10 minutes later at which time the manager walked by and said, "see, I told you shed be back.". Wouldn't have had such have a problem with Applebee's or Chili's prices, but at an average check of $45 pp, I expect more.
Went to celebrate my birthday. At our table were two birthdays, the table behind us had one and the table next to us also had two. A very enjoyable experience. Soup was very tasty, the salad dressing was really good. Our chef was very entertaining and interacted with the two children at our table really well. I had steak and shrimp which were great. Enjoyed the fried rice and of course the volcano made out of the onion. All in all it was lots of fun.
Our table was dirty from the last seating. We asked our waiter to have in cleaned and he refused. We spoke to the manager about it who told us it was the chefs issue - still a dirty table. We had to ask our chef to clean it properly before cooking our food. Customers should never have been seated at this table that still had cooked vegetables and rice still scattered about the cook surface. Disgusting. Fortunately, the chef did clean the surface properly before he cooked and he did s great job on the food. Too bad the manager and table service sucked.
We attemped to use a $50 Benihana gift card our son had given us. Waitress referred us to the manager, who made no attempt to help us find out why their computer would not accept it. He offered no help, only told us we would have to call Benihana customer service. We tried to call, but not able to communicate well with automated customer service because of restaurant noise. We charged the full amount of bill to credit card to avoid scene and embarrassing our son, who was with us for his son's 7th birthday. We felt as though our honesty was in question.
Perhaps the manager could have accepted our gift card and taken our proof of identification and phone number and dealt with Benihana's business office himself or taken a write off.
We will not be returning.
