Benihana - Coral Springs Ratings and Reviews
We went to this restaurant to celebrate my daughter's birthday and were very disappointed. The waitress didn't crack a smile and the chef didn't engage with us at all. he didn't even ask how we wanted our steak cooked. He cooked things in a weird order with people with the same meal getting their entrée at different times. At the beginning of meal, we informed the waitress we were celebrating a birthday and there was no singing or an offer to sing. I wrote a letter to the main office and have had no reply. When you spend a hefty price for a meal, which we knew the price going in, you'd expect, at the very least, a smile.
Let me just say that the food was delicious !!! Our waitress was a little in attentive...She forgot our apps..They never came out....Our chef was not the greatest..He forgot some ingredients..He forgot that one person ordered a steak..He wasn't as entertaining as what i am use to at these hibachi locations...However, the food was tasteful and at the end that is the most important.
We have visited this restaurant quite often and for the most part have been satisfied. ...on this visit we brought our 7 year old son to celebrate him being student of the month at his school. He ordered the kids meal shrimp and even though he got the appetizer shrimp like everyone else did, they forgot his meal. It wasn't until the chef was cleaning up and we asked about his meal. He sent for more shrimp but since everyone was almost done with their meal, we told him nevermind....but they brought it out anyway and he cooked it for him but as I said....everyone was almost done eating, so we had to take it home. We were very dissatisfied with that part of our meal.
We go to Benihana's around 8 times a year for birthdays and special occasions. We've have always enjoyed the " show ". and the food is excellent.
I'm allergic to Shell fish, and the restaurant has always been extremely careful to not cross contaminant our food.
However this time, we experienced a " bad chef " STEVE. that got our table's orders incorrect. He was confused, reversed orders, and had to ask several times, who got what. This guy needs lots of people skills training.
He also FIRM voiced my wife, because she called the Ginger sauce , Brown Sauce.
This iis totally unacceptable. He shouldn't be serving anyone.
I complained to the Manager, about to leave.
Management asked us to wait while they change the chef. We waited at the table an extra 15 minutes. We given a drink for our inconvenience.
Worth the wait. Loved the meal, new chef was entertaining, and helped make our meal enjoyable.
Still, the events left a bad taste .. Don't know if we will ever go back.
The entire table should have been given a complementary meal.
We were asked if we
wanted white rice with dinner. We asked if we could have fried rice instead. When we got the bill we were charged for chicken fried rice. No one told us there was an extra charge for it. We had to argue with the manager to have it removed. He kept telling us that his people were "trained" to tell us there would be an extra charge. There were 4 of us and none of us were told there would be an extra charge. He finally removed it.
I went there with my son for my birthday, they sat us with a couple who was there with their 2 kids and a grandma, very friendly people, they happened to be from New York, as myself. The cook came out, an African American guy and immediately maee a commen about the married lady being "HOT" which made "HER HUSBAND" and myself feel very uncomfortable. He made some remark about her "boyfriend" a couple times, where she corrected him by saying "MY HUSBAND" various times. And he again said how "Hot" she was, and asked my son and I, "Isn't she hot?". The tension grew so hot, you could have actually cut it with a knife. That was VERY, VERY DISRESPECTFUL and it could have had a very bad ending had it been different people, or latin people, as MYSELF. He was not funny, entertaining or amusing at all. It was a FLOP, thanks to the cook. My son's dish was a trio, and he had to ask for another piefe of chicken because he had cooked what he had and disteibuted out, without adding my son's portion to his plate. On the bright side though, the food was good, the alcoholic beverages great, but everything else, especially the cooks demeanor SUCKED!!!! I would probably go to the Benihana on Commercial next time.
Hibachi is always fun, especially when dining with children. Personally, we limit these outings to special occasions only due to budget constraints. The atmosphere is very lively and a little on the loud side, but it's part of the fun. My husband would prefer hibachi tables for 4, and while I agree, I am not opposed to sharing.
Manager was unprofessional didn't care what his customer had to say didn't even apologized
Waiting time for our food was over an hour
Waiting time for the drinks 30 minutes
Waiting time for the the check another 45 minutes
Overall bad management and organization
Not worth it to go to this place Coral Springs Florida
Horrible. Couldn't even accommodate a surprise birthday party. Hostess told me over the phone they would sit my party but when I got there that was not the case. They refused to let them sit until I arrived with the other party. Yay for a surprise birthday at the hostess stand. She told me the manager told her no but didn't have to decency to call back. Service was poor on top of that.
We were celebrating a birthday, it was fun watching our food being cooked; chef was a real showman! Shrimp and steak were cooked just right, nice and tender, not over cooked. Steak was very tender. We used a birthday $30 off coupon when you sign up ahead of time online which was great! We had a great time!
Wait time was entirely too long. The manager apologized and gave many excuses as to why we waiting so long for our server/chef. I know this is an ongoing issues because my daughter and her friends had the same problem a few months earlier. The same resolution was given to them as to us, 20% off of the check. I use to enjoy coming to this Benihana's, but I think I will find another restaurant until I hear things have returned to 'normal'.
This is the worst Benihana we have ever visited. No ambiance whatsoever. Went to celebrate a birthday which was on our reservation and mentioned to the hostess. They never acknowledged it. Food was over cooked. Chief didn't understand English. It was horrible. This is the only bad experience I have had at a Benihaha before. It is this particular restaurant.
We made a reservation for 4, 2 adults and 2 children. We were sat right away, which was key with two children. Drink orders were taken right away. Options were explained. We did sit with 2 other parties for a total of 8 at our table. Because of being sat with 2 other couples and we had 2 kids, I feel the energy of the table was low key. Because of that, the energy of our chef was more low key than others I've seen, however, he did do a great job entertaining us (fried rice was made into a heart, some fun dialogue with the children). Overall, the children loved it, the food was delicious, and we enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely return.
