Benihana - Coral Springs
I would only recommend this location if they don’t have the server i had
Great experience as usual!
The food is always great and the service is always exceptional.
The service was terrible. We waited for over an hour for our chef even though we had a reservation. The chef failed at some of the hibachi tricks and it was not entertaining. We will not be back.
20 minute wait after reservation. Drinks cane 10 minutes after table next to us even though that table sat 10 minutes after us. Special request of food was forgotten. Meal was forgotten and nit prepared until after everyone else was finished.
Great food and a great time! Will come again. Recommended!
Good food, entertaining and good place to celebrate a special occasion.
Our server was excellent. I believe her name was Kanika.
The restaurant seems understaffed. Service is VERY VERY VERY slow. We had an 8:15 reservation, was seated by 8:25, no service until a drink order was taken at about 8:50 with our dinner order since we stated we were ready. Soup and Salad came out at 9:05 pm, followed by the chef at around 9:20. The Chef was absolutely boring. It seemed like he had no desire to entertain. Just cooked, no show to it. (tricks and very little interaction with the guests at our table). The Chef didn't bring the correct items with hime either, so it took longer than usual to receive food. The server service did pick up as the restaurant emptied, except for the bar. There are much better Benihana style restaurants around.
Our chef Juan from Bogota was the BEST!🎉🎉🎉 He was very entertaining as well as a phenomenal cook. It made my daughter’s birthday perfect.
I usually give all five stars to this Benihana, but I felt our chef, Erick, was inexperienced and not at all into
the entertainment part of his preparation of the meals. We could hear oohs and aahs coming from other tables with knives clacking and cheering, not so at our table. The food was excellent as usual. We eat here several times a year even though it is a 30-minute drive.
I have been there plenty of times. This time we had a chef that did not seem to happy. He did not
try to engage with us and did not put on any type of show. As I had brought my nephew with me and
this was his first time, I was very disappointed in regards to the way he did not interact with the customers.
I was There for my husband's birthday, we arrive at 8 (with appointment). Start eating 9.30. We finish the food at 10.30 and requested an ice cream to sing happy birthday which end it up comming almost at 11pm.
Our experience was Fair
We had a 7 pm reservation- I was early and was told that we had to wait on a table. After waiting until after 7 pm we were told that no chefs were available even though there were tables available. When a manager came up around 7:20 and asked the hostess if everything was okay I interrupted and told him that it was not okay because we were still waiting despite having a 7 pm reservation. We were immediately seated at a table and after waiting until 8 pm a server came and took our drinks order.
It was not acceptable that we had to wait so long- we could have been seated, ordered drinks, had our soup and salad until a chef was available.
I love benihanas i should almost work there . Food is excellent.
I was very disappointed this time at Benihana. The chef spent the majority of his time paying attention to the little girl and her family at the other end of the table. It was my birthday which he never mentioned. The usual tricks they perform he didn't do. He seemed bored to be even doing his job.
We had reservations and still had to wait 25 mins. Once we where seated and are order was taken it took over 1/2 hour for the cook to come to the table.
While the staff was very pleasant they where extremely under staffed.
I had a wonderful experience at Benihana at Christmas time, the food was perfect and the chief that cooked the food was very entertaining. This chef however, was less so. The steak and lobster were cooked well. The vegetables were under cooked and the rice was not mixed fully and the rice had chewy( overly cooked) grains to it. There was no “show” from the chief, we could hear other tables being entertained with “ohhs and ahhhs” coming from the diners. Just disappointed.
This place has gone so far down hill in the last few years. Our reservations were for 7 and we were seated 5 minutes early. That was the last time it was good!! Took server awhile to come to us - had other tables, i guess. Then drink and app order took over 30 minutes. He kept passing by but with no food or drinks but alot of " they're coming right up"!! He finally brings our drinks - no sugar rim on my lemon drop - way too much mint in mijito - glasses not full - had only 2 apps - not ours - said "kitchen made a mistake " " shouldn't be too much longer". In the meantime, our soup and salad were served - soup was cold, salad was not fresh. Cook was not friendly at all - no fun like it use to be - onion train, rice heart, shrimp tails, etc.. Charged for rice - thats just plain tacky!@ Food was ok. Was definitely expecting some acknowledgement of 4 birthdays just at our table - no offers of coffee, tea, no desserts, no happy birthdays. What in the world has happened to this place?? Wont be returning!!
Food was on point. Her was nice and made it special
The worse I have ever seen or experienced .
Waited for more than one hour for seating.
Waited an additional hour before the Cook showed up.
The food at the Table was marginal at best.
The following day I attempted to eat leftover
Fried Rice which made me sick
Went to Benihana’s to celebrate my birthday. The chef and service was phenomenal. Friendly staff and the food was delicious.
Service was very horrible. The worst service I have ever encountered. Took 62 minutes before a manager and another person at the table to complain before we got mediocre service. Three tables were seated after us and meals were cooked before ours. With one table coming literally an hour after us and got there meals before ours. There was no nothing for we provided a bad service. It was do you want ice cream since we were not as good. As if the ice cream was free. It was included in the meal. Just highly disappointed. I will attend Benihana again but just not this location. Overall it was horrible and food was ok at best.
Since we were there early...5pm first 2 ppl the cooking went way to fast. The steak was not that tender. Shrimp and lobster was fine. Had brown rice and now I see you charge an extra $2 50 for that now. The food was all to fast and out of there in an hr or so.
Was disappointed on the wait. I made an appointment but I still Had to wait 1.5 hours To start eating. Chef seem new and meek. I expected more entertaining or tricks. Overall it was ok.
We made a reservation but had to wait because it was only one cook. Then sat for another hour to eat, and on top of that my fiance wasn't happy with his food. We dined there at least 5 times a month. But now we're looking to dine somewhere else
Great Birthday meal at Benihana. The food and Chef Ken were amazing, the table service was a bit lacking. Overall it was still a great visit.
New chef, smothered everything in the oil did not use
enough garlic butter or soy sauce, got sick from oil and went to car, never ate my dinner, my husband finished and took mine home, got home figured once my stomach settled would eat the white rice, IT WAS NEVER PUT IN CONTAINER, TOTAL WASTE OF A NIGHT AND DINNER
Food was great! Loved the Suma roll and coconut sake.
Our Chef was interactive the entire time... and our sever Gabriella was Awesome! BDAY Dinner
Had the opportunity to visit the Coral Springs location for my birthday with a few friends. Made a reservation and was finally seated 30 mins after our reserved time. Once seated, ordered an appetizer that never came. Chef did cook the food perfectly and was very polite. However he did not perform any show of cooking at anytime. He clearly did not have any skills to perform what you would expect . You would be best to visit the Ft. Lauderdale location to see a chef perform a show for the price they charge for their food.
New chef was not good
We go there 2 times a month
This chef was no good
Took my family here who were visiting from Detroit celebrating my nephew's 11th birthday. The restaurant was clean, the staff was professional & courteous. Our chef JC was phenomenal! He came out in a timely manner, prepared the food with scrumptious flavoring. The kids enjoyed the show especially the sunflower made out of rice & veggies. JC was fun & entertaining all while cooking our food in a timely fashion. We appreciate him for his superb service. The waitress was excellent. Very friendly & ontop of refills or requests.
The chef had NO personality & wasn't too friendly. He forgot to make chicken that we ordered! The chef at the table next to me was more fun! My bill was $100.00 & that included the $30.00 off birthday coupon. Not worth it. My chateaubriand had fat in it too. I will never go back again & I will not recommend. Total disappointment!
Overall great experience...
The overall experience was disappointing. It took about 10-15 mins just to be ackowledged and have the drink order taken. Plates were not cleared in a timely fashion, refills took forever, etc. The food was lackluster and bland. There were staff members sitting at a table next to us, facetiming and being generally obnoxious. There was apparently some kind of drama happening between staff and they thought it would be appropriate for everyone to be involved.
The waiter was horrible and did not apologize for her mistakes. The manager had to be called and still the situation was not properly handled .
It's a lovely place for a special occasion, but a little too pricey for a :"regular" type of restaurant. Our Chef was great. We've been there a couple of times before, but this was the best chef so far. , I'm not talking about his cooking, but the entertainment side of it. We'll be back!
I believe our chef was new but if you're a regular you don't want the foods changed as he tried to do.
