Benihana - Coral Gables
It was our first time at a restaurant since the pandemic for my birthday. Food and service great! The social distancing and rules were enforced as well! Will definitely go back!
It was horrible we had reservations for 7:00 pm we gat to restaurant on time and when we gat there they told us that last person was for 6:30 and that they trying calling at off course never received the call I ask can I please order to go they said sorry we are closed. I can’t believe all off this happen they never called or either try to services me in any way.
The restaurant practiced social distancing. There were only two other people at our table. The restaurant was very quiet. Our waiter was friendly and efficient. The food was delicious

Food was very good and tasty, waiter very nice, and everything very clean.
They seemed a little lost. We were celebrating my granddaughters birthday and asked for a picture to be taken a routine done for customers; it was never done. A little disappointed. Otherwise everything was nice.
The service and food was amazing. However, I did notice a price increase. I understand they need to make up for money lost during this pandemic, but I don’t think right now was the right time to increase their prices. Not sure when I’ll be going back.
Everything was good Service ,cook , management , not too many clients there.
Having to wear a mask while your food is cooking totally kills the ambiance.
Great service, manager was visible and attentive - good drink pours, delicious food, overall fun atmosphere. Everyone was friendly!
I think the price is a little expensive but good. Cook was good this time.
It was my birthday and my first time benihana's Coral Gables. My friends and I enjoyed the night and we were talking who was the next birthday to go again.... For sure, I would return to try more dishes. The service and the food was excellent. Thank u

I made a reservation for my Birthday. I chose Benihana because I have 2 kids and they like to see the chef playing while cooking... I had a reservation for 7:15 pm, we were seated at 7:35PM and waited more than 1 hour for the chef. When he started the kids were so hungry and tired. So, a lot of stress to celebrate my day. I will not come back.

front desk/hostesses need to learn to smile and be more friendly. hospitality training necessary. rest was good for the price.

Oscar is the best chef at this restaurant! He is so pleasant and includes tricks in his performance. But his focus is where it should be ... on the cooking! All the meats and seafood were tender, moist, and delicious! Oscar even remembered our family from a previous visit several months before. You can tell he takes pride in his work. Oscar is a keeper. We can’t wait to return to Benihana.

Upon arriving we checked in with the host station. We were told I’ll be right with you. The server then turned around to a pizza box grabbed a slice and processed to eat it while asking us our name.
She ended up being our server as well. Coming from the Napa Valley and dining in very upscale restaurants we were somewhat disgusted that she was checking us in with pizza in her hand and in her mouth. While waiting for our chef to arrive I was looking around the seating area. The walls, light switch, light above the table were filthy, covered in grease and dust. While walking upstairs to the bathroom I noticed similar cleanliness issues. The stairs look as if they are it swept or mopped. The food was just ok. We were not celebrating any special event just a Friday night dinner on our first trip to Miami. It was also interesting to watch the manger stand around and socialize with other employees while our table had empty cocktail and water glasses.
At the end of our meal we were presented with our bill. There was an automatic service charge of 18% added to a party of 3.

The service did not warrant a 18% tip. We are familiar with the hospitality industry and always tip 20-30% depending on service.
I would not recommend this Benihana location.

I would recommend them to manage the restroom cleanliness better, the restroom was dirty and it gives a. As impression to the restaurant.

I booked reservations that day for 11:00pm and when we got to the restaurant the doors were locked and lights were turned off. There was a paper on the door that said, “closed due to no power”. Had to quickly call the other location and race over there as the last reservation was at 11:30pm.
When we arrived we were told that the restaurant was CLOSED. I did not receive a call, text or email of the fact.

serving staff needs to be expanded. Our server had too many table at once. not to her fault our food orders were incorrectly entered for two of us. Was given a bottle of beer without a chilled glass and my friends wine order was missing had to ask the attendant to locate it. the cook was excellent. I do not plan to return to this crowed place that look like an assembly line instead of a fine restaurant. My wife and a friend went to the restroom and they said that it was smelly and dirty like some one forgot to clean it.

Great staff and excellent chefs! Next to I am in Miami I will be sure to come to this location.
We had made reservations thru open table, once we got there, they told me that we had no reservations. I showed them the confirmation on my phone, and then they looked again and they had given our reservation to another group that was there. So we had to wait until they could seat us.... Very odd and confusing.

The food usually has more flavor than on this visit. It would’ve tasted better with a little more butter, salt, and pepper. Great experience overall.

Had reservations and we were seated promptly. However, it took a little time for the waiter to take the orders even after everyone was seated.

Visited this location on super bowl weekend, worst mistake I ever made. Brought in a party of I for a business meal had a table reserved for 9:15pm, did not get seated until around 10:30 and after being seated had to wait an additional 30-45 minutes for the chef to start cooking. Seems like the place had been overbooked it's not the chef's fault he actually smoothed things out bug after waiting almost 2hrs to eat you lose your appetite. Management at this location needs to do a better job of organizing reservations if I set a time 5hrs ahead i should be able to walk in and enjoy my meal without having to wait for a table. Worst benihana experience ever. Save yourself the anguish and visit north bay village location instead.

We waited from 8:45-10:00 just to be seated after making reservations at 9:15. The service was slow and we didn’t actually eat until 11:00. The great thing is we were accommodated by receiving 50% off of our bill. However, I would not go back...the food wasn’t worth the wait! We were from out of town and was dropped off by Uber so we had no choice but to wait. Hopefully it’s not like this all the time!

We waited over 30 minutes to get our table...with reservation. And then another 30 minutes for the chef to show up! Service was bad too.

Nunca había ido a un Benihana y tenía una mayor expectativa de la comida y el lugar. Compartimos mesa con otras tres personas que de entrada no fue de mi agrado. Todo lo hacen con una mantequilla con ajo (vegetales, proteínas, arroz) por lo que todo sabe a ajo. La salsa de ajonjolí está rebajada con crema y sabe a crema cuando debe tener un intenso sabor a ajonjolí. Obviamente La Comida me cayo súper pesada y fue difícil de digerir a pesar de ser plancha de tepanyaki. Lastima. El servicio fue bueno.
They were more interested in taking us out, asked for a tea, never came, instead we got the check.
Tons of food and fun for my girls and I.
