Benihana - Concord Ratings and Reviews
Beni's is my favorite restaurant anyway so I'm not shocked that this visit was good. I did have a little mishap. I made reservations through Open Table and when we got to there was told that you only make reservations to sit on the side where they actual cook in front of you. I've made reservations before on the other side because during the lunch hours it can also get very crowded and didn't have a problem so it was a little disturbing to be held up this time and not told until after waiting that this was the reason. Other than that it was a great time had by all. Food was extremely good today. I definitely recommend.
We had a reservation for 7:30pm called and said we may be running late due to the first rain, was told they couldn't hold table for more than 15 min. made it there 5 min late. Waited for an additional 35 min to be seated. When seated order was taken right away took 30 min to receive soup and salad. and an additional 30 min for cook we were seated for an hour before our cook came to cook our food. Once he arrived it was pleasant, but we didn't get to eat until 9:30pm and while waiting for everything to be cooked everyone at the table was starving so we had to eat like food was entree because we couldn't wait for the whole meal to be cooked. On top of it all we ordered hot tea and while drinking my glass cracked straight down and I had glass pieces in my mouth and the cup became sharp where the crack was and almost cut my finger. Called manager over he apologized brought me another cup of tea and kept moving nothing ever said afterwards. After dinner the waitress brought ice cream for the other group and we asked where ours was cause we were celebrating 2 birthday and put it on the reservation. Again apologized and ran to get two more ice cream 10 minutes later returned and the other groups b-day ice cream had melted. Very very bad service! Even for having free birthday meal I was very disappointed in service.
I ordered a drink and it took over 45 minuets and when myself and the other couple complained to the manager she said she would get right on it but that was a lie, and then went and told my boyfriend that she would give us free alcohol for the whole table and again another lie. Then when we got our bill that drink I ordered was on there right like I’m going to pay for a drink that took over 45 minuets to get to me I think not!
We went to celebrate my sister's Cunpleños and wait for my table for more than 35 min and I was supposed to have a Reservation of nothing, they made me wait and the chef did not know how to do the show with the Foods everything was a fraud, it's better the benihana of Cupertino
I was really disappointed. The chef basically prepared the food and ran, with just s few tricks and not much personality. The chefs at the surrounding tables spent twice as much time at their tables. The food was undercooked and the service was incredibly slow. I took my sister for her birthday and they did sing happy birthday to her, but while the other waiters took pictures for their customers ours did not. We had to flag down another waiter and reques1 a picture. Overall ir1 was a very disappointing visit.
We showed up at 7:20 for our 7:30 reservation for a birthday celebration and was given a buzzer. We waited until 7:45 to ask roughly about how much longer. They told us about 5 minutes. When it was 8:00 pm we went up again as this was very aggravating as we had a reservation and we were lied to about the wait time. They then told us it would be another 20 or so minutes. No body knew how to handle the customers or apologized. We asked to talk to the manager and he just seemed annoyed that we were talking to him. He told us we would be taken care of once seated and would be given a compensation. When we were finally seated it was 8:22 and the manager never came to see how we were doing or to check in. When the check came, nothing had been changed and we were actually mischarged for a drink. Only was something changed when we went up and said something. I will not be returning here until they figure out how to get their act together. It put a damper on the whole night and ruined our evening. And this wasnt even on a weekend night! This was a monday!
Hostess stand service was horrible! We got there at 4pm fora 4pm reservation and was told we will work on it and that the man had just come on shift. We weren’t seated for 25minutes. The waitress who took our orders was not friendly and when we asked for separate checks for our party of 4 she seemed confused. When she brought us our bills she mixed up two of the bills and couldn’t figure it out for about 10 minutes. The cook was great and the food was great but the service from everyone else was horrible.
We waited over 40 min after our reservation time until we were finally seated on a Saturday night. They wouldn't seat us until the last person in our party arrived, but after she arrived within the 10 minutes of our reservation, there was a 40 minute wait.
The chef looked really tired and could barely hold a smile. The food was of good quality though, although the amount of soy sauce the chef added to the fried rice was alarming. I literally had my mouth open as he continued to drizzle away.
The waiter was good, and anticipated our need for to go boxes and they took a couple of really nice family shots at the table and handed the pictures to us when we were about to leave.
They never refilled my all you can drink soda, though. They sent a second lemonade to my husband though he didn't want one.
Overall, the food was good, the fried rice was not as good as it used to be, but the crazy Saturday night atmosphere was enough to nix any repeat visit. Perhaps lunch is better?
Delicious food as always. Fun show by the chef. Large sized meal, you don't leave hungry. We had 6:30 reservations for six and weren't seated until 7:15. From the first experience with the reservation desk, we were ignored while the staff talked between themselves. Acted like I was interrupting them to give them my name for my reservation. Several people in out party went up to the desk to check on the wait and were also ignored. Once seated, treatment was great. We had two kids in our party that were over hungry. Server who brought our waters brought them a bowl of fruit from the bar. Very sweet and much appreciated. During dinner, server brought multiple bowls of additional rice for the kids to keep them happy. Excellent service. Thanks so much!
My 12 year old granddaughter had heard about eating there and she wanted to try it. So I took her and her 12 year old twin brother and they loved it - loved the food cooked right in front of them and LOVED the presentation show. Want to have their birthdays there.
I had high hopes for this Benihana. I love Benihana we always go to the branch in Burlingame. But since we moved, this was the closest one so we decided to truly it. What a disaster. We made reservations so we dont have to wait. Guess what, we waited more than an hour to be seated. All the other guests were furious as well. Our reservations were at 8:15 we were seated at 9:35. Unbelievable. The food was great of course but worst hostess and planning on their part.
The food and our chef were great. The wait staff, hostess and ambiance were seriously lacking. For the price I could have had a great meal elsewhere where the ambiance was more enjoyable. I think it has really gone downhill in the past few years, even with the remodel.
Also, our reservation was at 4:45 and we weren’t seated until 5:15.
