My reservation was at 9:30 pm, wasn't seated till 10:15
They really weren't in their game. Soup was served by the spoonful and the salad dressing is getting sweeter and sweeter beginning to taste like thousand island instead of the spicy ginger pop you used to get. Scallops we're under cooked even after asking for them to be brown/crusted a little extra.
Garlic butter was also greatly reduced. Definitely not worth the $104 for two people.
Service and food were great. Our chef was wonderful! Coming back for another birthday next Week!
We had a great time. Recently went to the Benihana in San Francisco it was a terrible experience. But the one in Concord is always great.
Everything was wonderful
The wait time was short
The waiter was incredible
Best waiter ever
The food was very flavorful
The chef did the usual tricks
Highly recommend Benihana in Concord
DID NOT GET SERVICE FOR 45 MINUTES AFTER SEATED. SLOW SERVICE.
It was good, however, we did not get the hot green tea that the menu said was included.
Benihana is no longer a dining experience you get better service at a cattle yard. The bathrooms were disgusting the service was mediocre the food was good the cook was nice. But for the prices they're commanding and the number of people that they stick at a table you do not have room to be comfortable the place is a pigsty and I will never turn back
All 5 of our meals were over cooked and dry. They limit how much garlic butter the chef may used on the food. Because of this the food didn’t taste as savory as usual. We have been going to this location for 20 years. The quality of the food has declined in the last 2 years. I would rather make the drive to the Burlingame location that is 45 miles further from my house.
We came to celebrate a birthday. The food and the show of watching them cook in frog us was great. The only problem was we couldn’t celebrate together. It was so loud in the restaurant that we couldn’t talk around the table. We simply couldn’t hear the people on the other side of the table.
We were 36 minutes late due to traffic. Grandparents came into town for their grandson’s 18th Birthday. The restaurant gave our reservation away at the 30 minute mark. Neither Open Table or Benihana told us this would happen in any email or confirmation. Benihana did not call to check on us. 5 minutes of that wait was standing in line to get to the host stand.
Totally disappointed that there was NO warning in any communication that they would automatically cancel after 30 minutes with no phone call.
Was my son’s favorite restaurant but doesn’t look like it any more.
Long wait. Poor service. Chef was filthy
Great time with friends. Thank you staff at Benihana.
Great food and excellent service!
We had a great lunch. My teen tried all kinds of new foods and we were very entertained!
The cooks are NEVER consistent in their cooking methods and ingredients. I go there enough to know the routine by heart. I have been going to Benihana 44+ YEARS! The cooks these days almost always overcook the seafood. The food is always fresh and of good quality but the cooks ruin it by either forgetting altogether to add certain ingredients: (such as garlic butter, sesame seeds, etc.) or under-cooking the veggies, serving them practically raw, or raw on one side, burnt on the other. When they make faces or animals with the eggs, they almost always take the HALF RAW eggs and raw onions, veggies, etc for Fried Rice) that they have set off to the side (away from the heat in a heap), uncooked and RAW and add it to the rice. Sometimes they may or may not give it a stir or two on the grill instead of stir frying the onions a bit longer before adding them to the rice like they SHOULD!! Some "cooks" just take the RAW onions for the Fried Rice from barely warm part of the grill, and just add it to the fried rice, without grilling it, thereby having wasted my money because it does NOT taste good AT ALL as it does when they STIR FRY THESE INGREDIENTS!! Maybe, these new cooks are told not to spend time actually cooking the Fried Rice fixings to save time? If that is the case, I wish they would go back to the old way of cooking Fried Rice by frying it like the name that it's called. True Fried Rice has all the ingredients stir fried an a wok. They are supposed to STIR FRY ALL THE INGREDIENTS! The seasoned cooks ALWAYS DO stir fry all of the ingredients, as well as the onions and zucchini appetizers. They just don't allow them to supposedly cook by themselves off in a corner . The new cooks also overcook the Lobster and scallops almost every single time. I usually have to tell them when to stop cooking the seafood etc, and or ask them to cook my veggies & onions longer to get them cooked correctly. This irritates the cooks, then they almost always gipp me on my portions.
i was very upset on my birthday march 8th 1 of your Server mandy acussed me of not paying my tab .
Both the chef and waitress were very friendly. We will definitely be going back.
It was my 21st birthday, the waiter (i wish i could recall her name) gave me her opinions on the drinks and her suggestion was GREAT!!!!!
Always an enjoyable experience whenever I go here. Never a long wait to be seated. Great service, great food!
The chef was awesome!! He cooked everything how we requested. Food was delicious as always!!
We come here about once a month. We love the food and show. Most of the time the service is awesome.
I've been a Benihana connoisseur since age 9 currently I am 49 and this particular visit it tasted better than ever!!!
In spite of our reservation, we were seated 45 minutes after the designated time. It took another 40 minutes to get any food. No apologies, no updates on timing. Great food but supremely over-priced. Not going back anytime soon.
Awesome service, friendly servers!
It was a great night, with good company at the table. The only thing I didn’t like was how small my portion of food I get for that price. They shouldn’t be stingy with the food. My date and I were upset because we got the least of the food served there. I don’t think it’s fair that we should have to share our food. I should get what I paid for and nothing less.
Great food. Fun time. Excellent service
Very crowded table making it uncomfortable. Food and entertainment was excellent. Miss the Calamari on the menu.
Horrible chef did not do any tricks for the 5 children that was at the table.
Although I had a reservation wait time was still long , hostess was rude and seem to be more interested in personal conversation than checking in guest.
Overall a good experience, but even with a reservation 1 week in advance on open table we still had to wait over 40 mins to be seated. Beni's is cool but they are way to overpriced for what you get. Your paying fine dining prices for average food and decent cooking entertainment.
Food is good but you do not get alot for what you pay for, you're basically pating for the show and what they claim are entrées are really small. I made a reservation for 7:00pm and wasn't seated until 7:40pm I was on time with my entire party at 6:50pm. Service needs to be a bit quicker. Overall great once we were finally seated.
We enjoyed our cook, Jin, and our server was very good also. The restaurant was unusually crowded for a Wednesday night, and was very loud and noisy.
Hosts weren’t nice and not welcoming, had a reservation at 8:45pm and didn’t get sat till an hour later. What’s the point of a reservation. They didn’t tell us there were different menus for hibachi and for dine in so we were looking at the wrong menu, and when we got sat is when we realized it was different. They should have told us instead of letting us read the wrong menu. It would have helped just to get an idea of what kind of appatizer we would have gotten. Jose the chef was good and so was our server, but at the end we seemed to be a little rushed to get out of there and our green tea didn’t get served. I know it was late, but it wasn’t our fault we got sat late. I understand that it’s busy, but then let us enjoy what we paid for. Our food was mediocre for what we paid. It was my first time and the only reason why I came is because of the $30 gift card for my birthday, which is awesome. Hoping to give it another chance, but probably just doing happy hour to see how that goes.
Its always a great dining experience everytime me and my family dine at Benihana! The only complaint I guess is that we had our reservation and we still waited for a good 15 minutes just to get us seated on our table.
We had a reservation for 6:30 but we did not get seated until 7:15. After all these years you'd think they would know how to manage reservations. After that fiasco, the meal was good as expected.
Everything was great! Price was kinda high but expected! Overall a great experience!
Terribly slow service. Two hour ordeal. Food was just average. Won’t be back.
The hostess was the rudest person I've ever met. Even with a reservation we weren't seated and we had to wait over 45 mins terrible.
Horrible management that needs to be replaced. Had an attitude before arriving to our table and when he did arrive he acted as if he didn’t want to be bothered with my problem with the food being over cooked and the lack of service.
I have been going to Benihanna's for years. It was the place to treat my mom and grandmother for dinner. Back then we always had to go to SF. I am happy that they built one on this side of the Bay.
