Despite a reservation, it took almost 30 min for us to be seated; service was poor; a long time to get even our beverages, and then forever for the chef to arrive to cook at our table. Beverage refills were few and far between. It wasn’t the best experience with us spending more time waiting around, than eating or enjoying ourselves.

We had a 7PM reservation for 2 on a Saturday evening. We were seated about 7:35. Although, they did repeat my order back to me, I did not receive what I requested, and before I could tell the chef that it wasn’t what I wanted and that I was going to need some sauce, he was gone and we could not flag down a server for more than 10 minutes. I did get charged the proper price for the dinner that I received. The meal that I wanted was more expensive, so at least that worked out. I had a steak, and I cut off enough fat to fill up a bowl that the sauce came in. We had to wait another 10 minutes to get the check back. My guest needed a box for leftovers and we asked twice to 2 different servers before someone got it. There just did not seem to be enough servers and seemed to be a lot of disorganization at the front desk. We have patronized this place before, but we won’t go back.

After a bad service several week ago, we decided to try again, this time with 3 of our kids. We were there 2 hours! It was 15 minutes after our reservation time before we were seated. It was warm before the grill was even turned on, server was slow again. Again the chef was fantastic, but the waiter was so slow! My daughter wants to go there again (it was her first visit) for her birthday, and I'm really leaning on going somewhere else.

The waiter was good no complaints with him however the cook was rushing. The food was super salty. I’ve been to other Benihanas where they do tricks and cute stuff. None of that happened he prob did it twice and then just gave up and cooked. This place could be better. Not to mention the place was not busy so for the hostess to be nowhere to be found for the first 5 minutes of our arrival was disappointing also

We made a reservation for 7:30. We walked in and stood at the desk to check in for 10 minutes and were never greeted or told that someone would be with us. After we checked in, we were told that they “would get to us as soon as they could”. We went to the bar to have a drink while we waited. We sat at the bar for 20 minutes and again nobody acknowledged us, asked if we had been helped, got water... NOTHING! After sitting there for 20 minutes we decided to leave. We went to House of Japan, which is down the road and had a wonderful experience. I will NEVER go back. The lack of customer service is embarrassing.

Our reservation was for 7:00 pm, but we didn’t get seated until 8:15. We were told 2 different stories by separate employees. One said (at 7:20) that we would be seated shortly and that there were only 3 parties in front of us. The other (at 7:45) apologized and told us that she was very sorry, but the general manager opened up spots for reservations when there really weren’t any available. She was very nice, and apologized, but you could tell she was just as frustrated as we were. Once we were finally seated, we ordered our drinks and were able to order food as well (we had plenty of time to figure out what we wanted). Our soup came out and then the chef. Now we started feeling rushed. We had barely had our soup for 30 seconds, and the chef was cooking already. We received our salads after the zucchini was already served. The chef was OK, but not very interactive with us. He dropped a lot of stuff and missed every time he tried to do the shrimp trick. He joked that he was hung over, but I’m not sure that it was actually a joke. At the end of the meal, we had to ask about the ice cream that was supposed to come with our meals, and oh...we never did get our green tea. Our drinks sat empty needing refills and we had to ask every time. It was just an all around bad experience. It’s sad that we spent $200+ for a party of 6 people, and had this experience. This was our first visit and as far as I’m concerned it will be our last.

I was very unhappy with my experience. The chef was unprofessional to the point that raw meat was flung onto a fellow diner's plate. My chicken was undercooked, my shrimp was over cooked and the fried rice was so heavily doused in garlic butter, it would have completely ruined the entire dish if I had wanted to wanted to eat it. For the amount of money I was charged, I was expecting so much more finesse. Even the bathrooms were gross and poorly stocked. I understand being busy on Mother's Day, but I don't understand how this is supposed to be the best. My sister and I were looking forward to bringing our mother here, and were sorely disappointed.

The zucchini was good though, I guess.

The food was amazing, as always, and our service was awesome. We were disappointed that we had to to wait 45 minutes after our reservation time (it was Mother's Day). We had a reservation for 6:30 and were seated about 7:15. We finally left at 8:45.

The chef we had was great! He was creative and put a new spin on a very traditional meal that was refreshing. This type of restaurant is so predictable is nice to have someone subtly bring something to the meal.

Have been there twice in a week. Although the food was good both times, the same items were prepared differently. No consistency.

The only thing consistent was the service is fair at best. Had to ask for dishes to be removed and to get drink refills.

Birthday... I think our waitress was a little new. She didn’t get all of our orders rgt and the proper food wasnt sent out to be cooked which left us having to wait after we waited over an hour after being seated just to order. No one sung Happy Birthday to my brother. We spoke many times about it being his birthday, she even told us about joining the birthday club emails. Overall it was “ok” the cook was great, he just didn’t have all of our food all at once.

My experience at Benihana’s was wonderful. Unfortunately the only reason I give them 4 stars is because management was awful. Our hibachi chef was wonderful, as well as our waiter. But we walked in the door to be “greeted” by their general manager and she immediately was rude and had no patience. She even went as far as staring us down our entire dinner for absolutely no reason. I’ve never felt so unwelcomed/unwanted in an eating establishment in my entire life. I still would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone, I just hope you don’t run into the GM.

They claimed that my reservation did not exist. However, I am on here writing a review for open table which means I did have a reservation. The host was rude, the cook was "different"...he threw the meat on the grill and didn't seem to enjoy working there as he stated it was just something he was doing for now to pay the bills. Perhaps I will think twice about coming here again.

Always love my Beni Hana experience and food. Very disappointed in this particular restaurant. They did not honor my reservation through OpenTable (even though I have used it to reserve tables at this location for years) and that they will not honor them in the future; we were seated an hour after reservation time. I don't understand a partnership if you're a) not using it and b) hurting your customer experience.

i had plans to come to Benihana for my 25th birthday. Yay for a milestone! Received an email with birthday certificate the day before my bday! I made reservations and was so excited because I have been wanting to try Benihana just never had a chance. When I went to print my coupon the certificate wouldn't work it came up as something weird I called the store to try to get this resolved my friends were already on there way to the restaurant while I was at fed ex trying to print a certificate that wouldn't come up. I Called the Polaris store and could not get through it just repeated the hours after I would push zero when prompted. I finally got through to Manager Jody after my sixth time she said she couldn't do anything. I told her Its my birthday and I really want to come. She stated other people haven't had a problem with it printing but she would try to get another sent to call back in 5 mins. I did she still hadn't done anything give me five minutes Jody States. I do that and she told me to give her more time then when I called I couldn't through no one picked up the phone and I had missed my reservation. Waited 30 more minutes hoping an email was sent and nothing. I was so upset my birthday was centered around my amazing plans to try benihana. This ruined my birthday and It was the worst birthday I ever had. I had terrible service from the manager of all people! There was No follow through and she treated me as if she didn't believe me. I have a screenshot maybe if I offered to email it to her It would've been better and she would've believed me but because I have a passion for customer service this just made me not even sure if I ever want to go to a Benihana she wasn't concerned about me as a guest at all. I'm super disappointed and hurt because I spent my day preparing everything and everyone for my birthday dinner and because I tried for so long I never made it to dinner I just ended having to go home! Worst birthday ever!

Very painful experience. Had reservations but still had to wait to be seated even if we got there on time. They seated the people who had a later reservation first before us. Waitress was busy with other table and had to ask the chef to come get our drink order. The chef did come out quick with the food but she cooked the food in a very weird order. The appetizer shrimp, veggies and rice were cooked last and the steaks got cooked first. Food quality was not as good as it should be. We ordered white rice and didn’t even get our rice until we asked for it again from the waitress. Will probably not be going back anytime soon.

One person in our group had the wrong time and was late so we had to wait for her to arrive, which was fine. However, after we were seated, the service seemed to be slow. We didn't feel the quality of the food was as high as one of their nearby competitors, particularly the sauces that went with the meal. No one offered to refill our water glasses until after we had completely finished our meal. The prices also were a bit high for lunch.

We drove an hour to meet my 3 sons and their girlfriends to celebrate my birthday. Of course we waited about 20 minutes in the bar ( no big deal) but once they sat us in the back corner of the restaurant that’s when the real problem started. They Forgot Us! I was finally able to yell across the room to get someone’s attention.The manager showed up and offered free appetizers for our wait.That was fine but we had to follow up on those as well and they finally arrived after the chef began serving our food. As far as getting another drink we should have served ourselves.
The chef and the food were very good but we never saw the manager again .Will I go back-not anytime soon after being disappointed and paying$330.00 before tip. To me that’s a lot money.If only the manager would have followed up.
One last item - my birthday was never recognized

Arrived 15 minutes early for our reservation which they quickly gave away after an obviously lame attempt to find us waiting in the large, loud bar. How do they not have buzzers or texting when table ready? 45 minutes after our reservation time we were seated. Service was then painfully slow, we never got 2 of our 5 courses and portions were much smaller than other competitors in town. Manager gave us 10% off for our trouble. Never going back. We will stick with House of Japan.

We made a reservation but still couldn’t be sad for 20 minutes after our reservation time. Once we arrive to the table we set another 10 minutes without even being greeted. Service was slow and once they poured our Yum Yum sauce they immediately took it all back.

Made reservations on Open Table. When we got there (on time for our reservation) the hostess area was chaos. We stood in line for over 5 minutes without even being greeted. They seemed to be more concerned with handling take out orders than guests that were standing in front of them. One lady in front of us had reservations as well that were 45 minutes past time. The hostess couldn't tell her how much longer it was going to be before she was seated. Another lady had been waiting an hour and a half for take out. We turned around and walked out the door without being able check in. Not sure that we would go back. If you can't manage the front and greet your customers, how can you manage the kitchen and serve customers in a timely fashion?

Had a reservation for 7:15 and didn’t get sat until 8:30. I dont Understand the point of a reservation if you aren’t even gonna get sat at the time. Reserve a table for people with reservations so we don’t have to wait an hour.

Very disappointed in the food, service, chef, and cleanliness of restaurant. Had a reservation and still had to wait a half hour for our table when they weren't full. The chef continued to flick grill scrapings and scrap food at my daughter. The steak had no flavor, rice was crunchy, and couldn't get drink refills. Our chef was more worried about watching the hockey game on the bar tv than cooking the food.
