Old, slow service, what happened to the Benihana we all knew and loved?
I had a horrible experience.. After I placed my order I went to the website to see if they had a lunch special. The website stated all locations have different special and to call that location. I called the location and ask the representative about the specials. She put me on hold and came back to the phone and stated the lunch times were 12pm to 215pm. When arriving to location I told the host my name and reservation time she said have a seat. While we were seated the hosted returned an stated they no longer have lunch specials on Saturday. Puzzled to how she knew it was me that called. I told her I was told by associate that by phone that is was a lunch special before I can.. She told me she must've forgotten and she was sorry. I ask to speak with the manager. I explained The story again and she said sorry we no longer have lunch special.The manager was rude and dismissive. I also explained I traveled far..No empathy at all.She told me there's nothing she can do.. I was livid.I left very unhappy and I won't be back... Neither will my family and friends..

Terrible food with long wait. Had reservation and waited over an hour for cook and then food was over cooked and bland. They don't use garlic butter unless you pay extra for it.
Our cook, Orlando, was not good. Different cooks have varying abilities and the food was not good, plus was distracted by his many missing teeth.
I spent over three hours there on a Thursday. It took an hour and a half for our chef to come to our table. Only after an hour and 20 minutes did the manager come over and explain that they were down a chef. No other table experienced the delay we did. The table next to us had their chef within 20 minutes of sitting down. No offer was made to compensate us for our long wait. Even after waiting that long to start, we had to wait for 20 minutes to get our check. We go to Benihana a couple times a year and it is one of my favorite restaurants but I'm not sure I will go back.
This used to be a much better dining experience a few years ago. The restaurant was cold and drafty and our cook wasn't very good. He cooked the food in the wrong order, the appetizers and vegetables first then the seafood then steaks and he made the fried rice last. We prefer the rice be cooked and then the main dish. The servers were very good and friendly.
I don't understand why we were the very first table for the day and still waited an hour once we got to the table for a chef to come out and start! We also had to wait 15 minutes to even be seated at our table. The restaurant opens at 11:30am which is when we got there our reservation was for 11:45 and was seated at 12 and then waited an hour!!!!!!! You can never come here to eat if you have any other plans!
My family has frequent Benihana for probably 15 years now as it was my favorite restaurant. I have noticed over the past year the chef's have stop using garlic butter in the food- which was the purpose we chose to come to the restaurant. Also I just went to dinner for my birthday last month - no song was sung, and no pictures were taken, I was disappointed. Please consider bringing back the garlic butter while cooking. I heard this complaint from others at the table.
Was very disappointed to get there and to find out they no longer serve lunch on the weekends. $100 lunch for a party of 3 is little on the pricey side. Only stayed because we were celebrating a birthday. The heat wasn't working and it was really cold. The food and service was great.
We absolutely love this restaurant. Never have been disappointed. Always look forward to dinner there.
