Benihana - Cincinnati
The food was very disappointing. I ordered medium rare but got well. The cook and another waitress from the table behind us started arguing in front of everyone. I think our waitress might’ve been new but was so slow! We ordered an appetizer but never got it, and it was still on the check.
Our food was okay. I love Benihana, however, it totally depends on your chef. This chef did not use any sesame seed and that changes the flavor totally. He also kept asking us, the table of 7, all same family, if we were going to eat like the veggies or the shrimp. When some folks replied no, then he wouldn't cook it. This made us furious, as we put it on the other plates and take it home. We paid for it already.
I was less than impressed this time.
My sisters birthday and the service was very bad
Our waitress was absolutely terrible. Slow doesn’t even describe it. Didn’t bring the rice until people had already finished the main course what good is it then. Appetizer arrived after we reminded her in the middle of the meal. Chef was new we believe though he said he wasn’t. He cooked part of the veggies then cooked the meat then cooked the other veggies. Itching came out together or in the right order. Chicken sat on the grill the whole time and was extremely dry. We watched another chef and he had all the veggies on the grill at the same time. Just didn’t make sense. Worst service I have ever had at a Benihana and they weren’t even busy.
Chef was awesome!! Food was great!! Servers were to inexperienced so that portion of the lunch was horrible. I will be back because that’s not going to take away the fact that the place is amazing!!
We were very excited about trying Benihana and wanted it to be special for our overseas friend visiting for my birthday. My birthday was never acknowledged and the Chef’s only trick was ‘butter flying’ which wore very thin after the fifth go. The food was over salted and had little taste. It’s possibly the worst Benihana we have visited.

Great service, food and ambiance! Our Chef - Eugenio was excellent! He was efficient and the food was delicious! We had reservations for 2:15 and we were back in our car by 3:20!
The service has really declined. After being told my party would be eating in the lounge our order wasn't taken for 30 min. The order was put in wrong because he insisted on not writing it down. I dont eat red meat at all and thats what was brought to me. After sending it back I learned that they swiped off the steak and nd threw chicken on the plate instead of remaking it. Which also caused everything else that came with the meal to be cold. When the plate came back it still had 2 strips of steak on it, which is how I knew what I mentioned above. Both of my toddlers who were with me has been very sick since the dinning experience. And I am almost certain its due to the meat interaction and their vegan .
My table waited at least ten minutes for our server to arrive at the table. She told us “no one told her she had a table.” I felt like our chef rushed through our meal. My rice was not really fried and still seemed like steamed rice. I was not told that fried rice was more expensive and could not just be substituted in the 5- course meal. I also never received my green tea with my 5-course meal. This was my first time there and I was very disappointed in the service and overall quality of the food for the price that I paid for two meals.
Out chief was absolutely amazing as well as our waitress! Both funny and super nice! Loved the whole experience as always!
The food almost always ends up being great. Our chef had issues with our orders and even combatted with other patrons at our table over TERIYAKI SAUCE of all things!! He Didn’t put the spicy sauce on our chicken till after he served it to us and we had to remind him . Our server MJ was great as she always is. I eat Benihanas frequently and will always request her.
Celebrated a birthday and had a great time. Great food and good times rolled. 5 stars
The food was good, I thought it was a little overpriced. The evening wasn’t as much fun or entertaining as on a previous visit years ago to this establishment or our recent visit to a Japanese steak house in northern Ohio. The chef wasn’t Japanese, he didn’t converse with us at all or put on any kind of show/entertainment while preparing our food. We probably won’t visit this restaurant again, we’ll wait until we return to Cedar Point to enjoy a Japanese steakhouse.
For the last 5 years My sister and I have made it a Tradition to come here every year for our Birthdays. We absolutely love this place!
Very hot in the building diminishes the overall experience
FOOD WAS EXCELLENT!! BUT THE CHEF WAS KIND OF SLOW COOKING.
OUR TABLE WAS THERE AN HOUR AND 45 MINUTES . ONE COUPLE GOT BOXES AND PUT THERE FOOD AS IT WAS BEING COOKED. A TABLE THAT SAT AFTER US LEFT BEFORE OUR FOOD WAS DONE.
We've been dining at Benihana for several years, very dissatisfied with our most recent experience. First, it was blazing hot in there- they had portable air units sitting in the room to assist but it DID NOT help, besides they looked very tacky! The service was horrible, had to ask multiple times for refills and still didn't get them! The waitress never asked how my steak was to be cooked and the "cook" just assumed apparently that I wanted it well done. Wrong! I would have liked it Med-rare. I had to wait for it to be remade and they forgot my order of Xtra mushrooms -had to wait on them to be cooked as well. To top it all off...we made a reservation for 7pm, understandably waiting to fill a table but why if I make a reservation and someone else does and shows up late do I have to be held up from my dinner to wait.
I think this will be our last visit.
Prices are increasing and the establishment has gone completely downhill.
Portable air conditioners we setup and not keeping the building cool. The chief rushed through dinner - just not the regular Benihana experience I have come to expect.
Bathrooms where a disaster, puke, overflowing (women). No AC in the whole building. Portal units were struggling to keep moderately warm. Service started out fine but slowed down once the main food was served, took 30 minutes to get the check and pay.
It was a birthday dinner. I went to rest room when I first got there, restrooms was horrible dirty and dingy and we was sat down had to wait on other people to get there. Waitress didn’t get refills quickly had to wait on drinks after being empty for awhile. Place just need cleaned up . Was just dirty all over
Prices went way up since we’ve been here last. Our hibachi chef barely said a word other than reading back our orders. He didn’t do any fun tricks while cooking other than the steam engine. We at least got our meal in a timely order. I felt bad for the table seated after us. Once they got their soup and salad, they sat waiting about 40 minutes before a chef came to start their meal!
I live going to Benihana it’s my favorite place to go when celebrating special occasion

The Benihana chain is usually one of our favorite restaurants. When we went to the one in Cincinnati, we were not impressed. My girlfriend is severely allergic to shrimp and we both expressed this to our server multiple times, others at the table also knew and were surprised when the chef came out, and acknowledge the allergy and started cooking the shrimp. He started touching the vegetables with the same tools, that were used with the shrimp. We spoke up and he apologized, finished cooking the shrimp and seafood before he cleaned the rest of the tools and the grill. Unfortunately, this did not save my girlfriend from not experiencing bad symptoms of her allergies. The waiter did not get our bill and another couples bill at the table correct either. He charged us for 3 extra rices, totaling 5 rices instead of two.
Went for my birthday celebration. Food was excellent as well as the service. They had a temporary a/c system running which was loud.
Overall had a great time.
Our chef was the best one out of the last 3 times I have been there. Food was delicious,name tag had Chico. The server was also great but I didn't get her name,I wish I did.
Very disappointed with the service we received. Salad plates weren’t cleared, drinks weren’t refilled, orders were messed up. We had 3 birthdays at our table & no one came out to sing. The air conditioning must not have been working correctly, it was very hot and sticky in the dining room.
I usually would recommend this place to anyone. We brought some guests this time that had never been here before. I hyped it up like always. We were all very disappointed. Our waitress had all of the orders right when she read them back to us. We received our soup and salad very quickly. The chief forgot half the food and had to keep running to the kitchen. He didn’t try to entertain at all, just ran through the steps. He read the order wrong for my husband. We corrected him and he ended up getting what he wanted. He was very rude about it. Our guest never got his noodles that he substituted instead of rice. He had to ask the cook. He was extremely rude and stated it wasn’t on his check even though he read it correctly back to us the first time.. I feel like this place is going downhill. The bathrooms were gross, they had no air working on one side. They had a makeshift air vent in the middle of the doorway. Very unhappy with this visit. Not sure when or if I will be returning.
Excellent food and service
We won’t be back. Benihana is normally our favorite restaurant to go to celebrate good times. We were greeted by an armed guard who was very friendly, but I have never seen a restaurant in need of that level of security. Yikes. Our chef barely made an effort and that was disappointing because one of the girls had never been to Benihana. She was pretty unimpressed and shocked that we have always enjoyed ‘The Benihana Experience” in many other locations. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. Not only did it smell filthy, it WAS dirty dirty diiiirty. The food was meh, not great not horrible. Crystal, our server was great. But that is t enough to come back to this location ever again. Boo.
Crowded / Very small portions for the price. Chef and waitress were busy and running around trying to make everyone happy, but they needed to be in 10 places at 1 time.
We always enjoy our time at Benihana. We have a group of 8 girls that always celebrates our birthday there. We always look forward to see our favorite servers and chefs at every visit.
The people that were cleaning the tables off were just wiping food to floor instead of sweeping it up.
Floor was very dirty
Air conditioner was broken! Along with that and the heat from the hibachi grill, was very warm.
Birthday Dinner for me the chef was amazing! Will reccomend it!
