Welcome to Benihana and a dining experience unlike any other! Our guests are seated at communal tables in groups, where your personal chef will perform the ancient art of Teppanyaki. Watch as we slice and dice, preparing a meal that will dazzle your eyes as well taste buds, whether you choose mouth-watering steak, tender chicken or succulent seafood. You can also enjoy sushi prepared by a talented sushi chef and indulge in a specialty cocktail. Benihana Cherry Hill is located right across the bridge from Philadelphia, at Points Plaza, where Routes 70 and 38 merge. Enjoy a cold or hot sake in our spacious bar and lounge, or take a seat at our sushi bar for fresh nigiri and specialty sushi rolls.
Join us for Happy Hour, Monday through Friday from 4-7 p.m. for specials cocktails, sushi, and assorted appetizers. An 18% service charge is added to all guest checks for parties of eight or more. This service charge will be paid directly to the employees who provided service to you.

Terrible service, long waits, mediocre food for the price. We waited a terribly long time to be seated with reservations. We received our appetizers after we finished our meals, and our chef over cooked our meals although he was very friendly and sweet to our children. Unfortunately because of Covid restrictions the atmosphere and overall experience has declined. 2 hours and $200 later we had to flag down another staff member for boxes and check. Maybe after Covid restrictions are lifted I will give it another try but I don’t plan to make another visit anytime soon.

Before the pandemic this place was great. Unfortunately they are extremely understaffed and the cook didn’t even cook the fried rice correctly, we got no dipping sauces and sat at the table for an hour before we even got our food. The staff was sitting in the dining room eating food on their break I’m assuming, which looked very unprofessional. Very disappointed for the amount of money we spent. We still gave a good tip because I actually felt bad. Hope things get better for this place.

Terrible service - Took 2 hours for the chef to start preparing our meal. The food was terrible and wasn't portioned properly. The chef didn't know what he was doing. All in all it was a truly horrible experience.

We had a reservation and were seated at the table within minutes but then after they took our drink order we were told there was a soup problem so they took an hour and 15 minutes to bring out the chef and get things started and still hadn’t brought out the soup. They did bring out the salad to hold us over but it made no sense because there were other tables with chefs coming out and soup coming out that had been seeded after us. The chef didn’t get my order right but I didn’t say anything because I didn’t want to complain in the middle of his cooking. The employees were very unprofessional and disorganized. There was an employee from the back coming back-and-forth to our chef to see if he had stuff on his car or if he needed more things on his cart and with over an hour to prepare you would think they would have that figured out. The bill was $125 plus tip for two people and the experience was definitely not worth it. In my past experience with hibachi the chef actually talks to you and you’re paying for the entertainment experience. The chef introduced himself and then cooked but there was no interaction or engagement. One couple at our table actually left before it was all over because they had us sitting there for so long. Very disappointed in the experience. The food was OK but I have had better. They seated me next to a window and it was so drafty and I was freezing until they turned the cooktop on for dinner. The bathroom was the worst experience of all and I actually went next-door to Wawa to use the restroom instead of using the one in the restaurant. I will never go back

Entire table was freezing by the emergency door. Bathroom was so disgusting it was unusable. Food was ok but way too expensive for what we got. Chef didn’t entertain he just cooked. Will not go back. Major disappointment got a birthday

Although it was my birthday they would not let me use my birthday certificate because it was a Friday. Although I told them about the certificate when I walked in, they did not tell me they would not accept the certificate until after we ordered, so we couldn’t decline to eat there. The manager was brought in but also refused the certificate. The food is fine, but very expensive. I would not go here again. Although the restaurant was not crowded and we were a party of 4 adults, they still sat another party at our table. I also felt this was wrong due to covid and the fact that there were plenty of open table to spread people out.

I will NEVER patronize Benihana’s in Cherry Hill, NJ again. The service was horrible we waited over an hour for the cook to come to our table to start the experience. The restaurant was cold. The staff were not knowledgeable and unprofessional.

After being notified that there was only a 10 minute grace period on our reservations time we were made to wait at the restaurant for almost 30 minutes before we were sat at a table and that was only after we inquired why we were not being seated. We arrived exactly at our reservation time. There were only 3 tables being used at the time. After we got seated we noticed our plates and the table area were not very clean! We all including our kids normally have the zucchini however on this occasion unfortunately it was mixed with onions which our kids do not like so they were unable to have zucchini. Our food was cooked ok but we received a smaller than usual amount of shrimp for our appetizer which is included in our meal. We all ordered the Benihanas Trio which includes “Filet Mignon” yet we received another type of steak. After all were served the chef realized one of us was shorted the steak so he asked for a filet to be brought and only this one was an actual “Fillet” Finally our and lastly the chef made our “Chicken Fried Rice” we upgraded to our order. This rice was pretty bad as was the plain white rice served to my kids who opted for the plain rice. The rice was hard and crunchy and the Fried Rice we were up charged for was tasteless!!

Over an hour wait for the chef to begin cooking the meal. He proceeds to drop some of the ingredients (scallops) on the floor, pretending not to notice. My steak was not prepared until he had finished cooking everything else.

Terrible. Quality of food was poor. Restaurant was dirty. Employees were disheveled and unprofessional. This was the worst dining experience possible. And the meals were very expensive. I wanted to ask for our money back!

Waited 40 mins even with a reservation, stuck us with strangers in the middle of a pandemic. Utensils had old food on them, found hair in my soup, waiter forgot food. Chef was nice, portions are ridiculously small for the price. Place is dirty, staff just hangs out. Won’t go back

While the food was pretty good the chef we had at our table was either brand new or had no clue what he's doing. He came to our table and just started making our main entrée. I ordered the Landon say and he put colossal shrimp on my plate totally messing up everybody at the tables order. He was replaced by another chef who was excellent.

The problem was that my steak was on my plate but the scallops were cold because they didn't bring me replacement scallops. I will have to say management did compensate us by giving us 25% off our check.

Benihana is not what it is to be. The food portions are getting smaller and smaller. Not this time but the other time I went there in September I asked the chef why other Benihanas fill the rice bowl all the way and this one only fills out halfway. He told me all the other Benihanas are doing it wrong. If 7 Benihanas are doing it one way and this only one is doing it another way. Why do you think your right. I prefer for him to just say that's what management want them to do. They use to just put the garlic butter in the food. Now you have to ask them like 4 times more garlic butter. But the food doesn't taste as good as it did in 2014. I only go to this Benihanas because it's close to my house. But I prefer to go to Short Hills one.

we had reservations and still had to wait 45 minutes to be seated.they are understaffed but the main concern was.this establishment needs to be cleaned from top to bottom. the bathroom was extremely dirty with only a half roll of toiltet paper for 4 people to use is unacceptable, the bathroom door didn't have a handle to open so we had to wait for someone to hear us to be let out. that's a safety issue for sure. The food Quality is still there though and our chef was very nice

Horrible! I had a 8:45pm reservation and I had to go to the manager at 9pm to see what the wait was and was told" oh we are seating you next." 30 minutes later I'm still waiting and just the whatever attitude made me leave at 9:30.

We had 7:00 pm reservations, but we were not seated until 7:30 pm. Our drink and dinner order was taken, but we waited another 20 minutes for our drinks to come. Next, we waited another 20 minutes for the soups and salads to come. When the chef came to the table, and started making the food and putting it on our plates -- he had no sauce bowls to give us. We waited until he finished cooking the zucchini and shrimp to receive any dipping sauce. They replaced the mustard sauce with yum yum sauce, by the way. In my opinion, it's just not as good. The rest of the meal was good, and served in a timely manner. We went for my birthday, but they don't serve the specialty banana dish anymore. Nor do they sing to you. And, they don't take your photo anymore either.

Pricey for no reason. The service was not good. I've visited the Cherry Hill location on 12/12/21. My experience was unpleasant. I've decided to visit the location for my birthday. Upon, entering the location, the lobby area was okay. The women 's bathroom was unkept, the door was held open with a small table, which had a paper towel located on the top. My party consisted of 9 individuals. Our server was fairly new, so we (my guest )were very understanding. While delivering our soup, the soup tumbled over and landed on the server's chest. The server needed assistance with the tray, colleagues did not assist and so my brother assisted with the tray. The server returned to the table sometime later to provide our soup. Then, the chef cooked our meal. The portions were very small for the price. We've asked the server to sing happy birthday to me, she forgot. I was a little upset with the server but understood. I felt that since the server was new, she should not be assigned to a large group. I've voiced my experience to the manager regarding my concerns, the taste of the food and he seemed uninterested. I would not recommend the location to anyone. And, I would never return.

Problem we experienced is service was slow then i placed a to go order 2 hrs before i even ordered my sit down food and because the cook did not want to make he did not and left his shift. No solution was offered other then giving us a gift card for that order and not holding anyone accountable for this the manager was very rude and short with trying to satisfy the customer after spending over 200 for dinner. I will never recommend or go to this cherry hill location. The only one who was great with his great was the chef who cooked at the table. Everyone else needs proper training esp the management team he did not know how to run that shift

Overall this restaurant isn’t what it used to be ….first visit since before the pandemic . The staff seemed a bit unorganized and loud. The cleanliness of the bathrooms were terrible . The paper towel dispenser was ducked tapped to the wall the floors and hibatchi areas weren’t in the best condition either.

As for the positives The chef was fun and made a attempt to have our experience be enjoyable and the sever was very responsive . Overall the food was just okay not worth the price. the soup was salty and the salad had huge chunks of lettuce in it not discreetly chopped. The hibatchi I had shrimp and chicken was just okay.

Bathroom was very filthy with water and tissues all over floor and no toilet paper in stall. Workers were standing around like they were clueless. Our reservation was at 4pm and we were seated around 5. Food was delicious, chef was very good, but that was it. Appearance of staff was not up to standards. It will be awhile before I return.
