   It was Morhers day, sure, but we walked in and they said they were 1 hour behind. We had 6:45 reservation and they said they were just seating 5:45. Poor planning system obviously. We went to the bar and squeezed in- ended up just eating there so we missed the whole reason to go to this restaurant…. Sitting at the cook plates and watching the prep of the food.

   We had reservations for 6:00 pm. We were not seated until 7:20pm. I had two babies with us. This was unacceptable. Why do we make reservations? This is poor management from the restaurant. We were not given any time line to be seated. Once seated, the service was excellent. The cooking show was great as usual.

   Management and service were terrible. We had to wait over an hour for our reservation. They were extremely overbooked and didnt have anything to offer guests who had to wait that long for their reservation. Everyone was waiting. It was horrific. Once we were seated, the waitress was rushing through everything at the beginning and rarely came back to our table to check in. The table was also not very clean and took forever to get hot enough for the chef to start cooking anything. The chef didn't do any of the regular tricks they normally do either.

   They were extremely behind and over booked. No heads up from the staff, no acknowledging the fact that they were 45 mins behind on the reservations when asked when we would be seated. Poor management by the front of the house to overbook on Mother’s Day. Saw a bunch of old moms standing for an unreasonable amount of time, no extra chairs brought out for the elderly. No offer to comp a portion of people’s bills, no offer to start bringing out beverages for people who were waiting to start out with. Just really poor management. Then you pay over $500 with gratuity built in. Gratuity is based off of service, it’s a choice for the customer and it’s subjective. Your service was crap on a very important day. I’ve been going to this location for the past few 10 years and watched it slowly decline. I will no longer be going here.

   Although it was super busy for Mother’s Day and we had to wait over 40 minutes past our reservation time, our chef was super entertaining and made my daughter’s 18th birthday super fun! And of course, the food was super delicious!

   Made a reservation and it was a waste of time. Over hour to be seated. Left and didn't wait. Why have reservations?

   We had a 5pm reservation and didnt get seated until 615pm. Several folks were waiting for there reservations and the frustration was showing by all parties. Myself and few other guest made complaints to the staff and manager but all they did was make excuses. Instead, the manager was rude and condescending. A good manager would have offered something up whether a discount, a free drink or appetizer but not this one. My goal is to avoid the Burlingame Benihana from now on. You lost a repeat guest.

    The food and service were very good, which is why I did not give this a 1-star. My valet car was vandalized in the front with some sort of drinks thrown on it, and the back of my car has a huge dent. The valet team was of little help, blaming others. They looked at a tape and said my car was not in view of the camera. The 3 in the booth just said to move my car and get out of the way. Please get rid of the valet service. I asked for insurance and they once again gave me the runaround.
