Benihana - Beaverton Ratings and Reviews
Food was not good the 5 courses include grilled onions and tasteless rice with dry shrimp as an appetizer. Its been years since Id been to Benihana and now I remember why. Our dinner for 3 was $126 and the food was like eating at a Shari's or Dennny's. We will not be back.
Lunch here is a special birthday tradition for a friend. Reservations were easily made through Open Table and we were seated promptly. Then we waited...over 40 minutes until someone from our table (another party) went and asked for service. We got our drinks and the dining experience was ok from there. At the end of the meal the man who complained received an apology and some sort of comp card-our party did not get any acknowledgement at all. One of our party is celiac and her food was not separated and the same utinsils were used while cooking. We also asked for less sodium / sauces to be used and were laughed at. I understand people can be overly picky but that should have been an easy request to fulfill.
This was our third time going to Benihana. The food was excellent, as always. However, our chef (Roger) seemed nervous and not as entertaining as others. Maybe he was new. He did a great job cooking, but did not engage the customers, and appeared to get some items out of order on the service. Overall the food was great, but the entertainment value (part of why we go here) was lacking.
Great food as always. Service was a bit off this time but the waitress stated she was new. Filet cooked perfectly. Always enjoyable and fun for groups to sit around the hibachi and watch the chefs cook. After being so many times though the shows get a bit repetitive but still impressive.
We took the whole family to Benihana's for our daughters birthday. The service was ON POINT!! The entertainment was great! The food was amazing!! It was a lovely evening! We were surprised were able to get reservations. If all restaurants had that great of service, they would all be book solid every night of the week!!
The staff was great. We were seated within 10 minutes of our reservation. The people we were sitting with were fun. We didn't have to ask for anything, which was great. The food was delicious! However, I love vegetables and there was only onions and zucchini. Overall it was really great.
My issue with Benihana is that I can make a reservation but it still will be 30 minutes before any food is brought out. I’ve been coming here for years and it seems as if in the last 4-5 years things have shifted to where we used to be able to be in and out at lunch in an hour has turned into an hour and a half or two hour process. The lunch meals are a good value but it’s unfortunate that because lunch breaks aren’t usually over 2 hours, I never know if I have time to dine or not in that time. Due to that, my visits are few and far between.
It was ok. It was fun to watch them cook at the table but I guess I expected more interaction. The food was overpriced for what you got and it was average. You’re basically paying for the “experience”. The ventilation really needs to be better. The smell of oil, old grease and garlic permeates your clothes and hair. My purse and coat still smell like Benihana. Service was good for as busy as it was. It had been years since I had been to Benihana - we were celebrating a special occasion. It just wasn’t as great as I remembered it. We really could have spent that money on a better meal in a quieter place. We had a group of 7 so it’s a good place to seat a large group. It’s a unique experience, but not a place I’ll regularly go.
It was not the best experience we have had here. The waitress took the first drink orders brought the soup and never came back. Salads never showed up and water was never brought nor were refills on anything offered. With all the choices out there I am not sure we will return.
Have been to Benihana’s many times and usually enjoy the ‘show’! Service was prompt, but our chef was not personable and did not do much in the way of entertainment like usual. We got a little juggling and that was about it! He didn’t slice the appetizer shrimp at all and served the appetizer AFTER a majority of the people at the table already had their entrees!!
This was not the experience that I am accustomed to at your restaurant and left very disappointed!!
I took my mom here for her birthday. The staff all kept wishing her a happy birthday and were very nice. The chef was really great with our small kids using kid movie references while doing his show. Made them laugh and they LOVED the tricks. A couple of small service hiccups but overall we had a great time.
I will say, it is fairly noisy in there. We didn't mind but I could see how others may not like it if they are trying to visit with one another.
Brought my whole family to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Family including 3 grandchildren ages 8,5 & 1. The entire staff was very friendly, helpful and gracious. We all had a great time and the chef made sure my wife and 3 grandchildren had a special time. I recommend for any family type celebration - especially if you can fill-up the table with 7-9. Cheers
It was my birthday I brought my 30 dollar certificate got a meal for 39 and another for my sons. Lady at the end said we cannot have our ice cream to go. I Think she thought it was my birthday one. Later she realized i bought dissert , but it was so late my kids were falling asleep. Not my best experience after 8 years . Paid for desert I never got.
We had a great dinner for our Anniversary. We got there a little before our reservation, so we went into the bar and it was Happy Hour. Loved the drink selection, and had an appetizer, then they came and got us for our table.
We had a nice time and the food was great, as always. Our Chef had fun and showed off some skills with his kitchen tools that we hadn't seen before, so that was nice as well.
We will be back again, sooner than expected due to the discovery of their happy hour, we will drop in after work for a drink and a lite bite. ( :
