Benihana - Beaverton
While we usually have a good experience here we had a strange time with our server and the chef. We had to tell the server we were there to celebrate birthdays for our kiddos after he asked other people at the table not us. He forgot what I was drinking, took one of the worst celebratory pictures we've had in the 10+ years of coming here, I was going to let it all slide then we didn't even get our ice cream at the end, he brought sundaes for the birthday people, but I mean come on. To top all that off our chef spoke like 4 times the entire meal, only did 1 "trick" show and forgot an appetizer (which was added after it was brought up at the end of the meal.) Mushrooms were under done, meat was overdone... we'll go back after a while, these meals cost a lot for the experience - it's unfortunate when it doesn't live up to expectations.
Have been having birthday dinners at benihanas for several years, never disappointed always want to come back.
Our poor server had the entire section by herself! She did her best, but there is no way one person could take care of that many and provide excellent service.
Our chef was the best we have ever had! He was amazing!
I would have loved dessert and a picture of my family for my birthday, but we had to leave because it took so long.
Asked for Mateo and was told he was there and woul be our chef. We were surprised that we got David but were extremely pleased by his professionalism, chef Skills and interactive personality!!!
Unfortunately we sat at our table/grill for over an hour before the chef even came to our table to start cooking. It was so disappointing. It was my sons bday celebration. The chef was tired and didn’t offer many jokes or interaction. A little sub par fir the experience. The waitress did ok waiting on us with starters, but we had no acknowledgement or apologies for the unreasonable wait. And, if was only a Tuesday night do not the busiest night ever, bout you would have thought so by the service.
Allen was excellent! Highly recommend the center cut tenderloin. Overall experience was outstanding.
It was a great first time experience. The only downside is that we came home smelling like we did when we first walked in. You walk into fish & grease smell. BAM! We had to put our clothes outside overnight before we washed them. Our chef was fun and energetic. We sat with another couple that had been there multiple times and they felt that he was very refreshing and that the others had gotten into a rut with the same old show.
The filet was melt in your mouth tender and the friend rice was good. It was hard to hear our chef, as it's loud in there.
I have never been disappointed at Benihana - not once. All aspects are 5-STAR - always!
We took our Marine grandson there and had a great time. The chef was great and very entertaining. The food was excellent, even the next day. It was pricey, but everything combined it was fine. It was the first time we had been there so we didn't know what to expect. For us it will be a special occasion place to go .
Our chef had no peronality
We had a blast (as always) at Benihana celebrating our daughter’s 8th Birthday! Amando was an amazing Chef, and we had a great Server, too!
Wonderful food and service.
Chef was to into watching people take shots and over did the pepper on everything ick
Been coming to Benihana for decades. It's one of my favorite places to eat. The food is always good and it's so much fun for the whole family.
We have been regular customers for more then 30 years. Always enjoy the food at benihanas.
The only thing I would say that needs improvement is the amount of time it takes to eat a meal
there. Its always a very long dinner. Mostly because you wait and wait and wait.
Wait to sit down, wait to see a waitress with your salad and soup, wait very long to see a chef... Every single time.
Its generally a 3 hour experience. Never quick... Always good food. But always slow.
They need more chefs or to at least realize no one should sit more then 15 mins at there table
before seeing a chef to start the dining process.
I never understand the point of a reservation at Benihana. We always wait another 30 mins to be seated. Our cook was not as entertaining and skilled as previous visits...seems to be the trend.
My wife didn’t get what she ordered, and others at the table had raw shrimp ect.
We were off in a separate room at at one point my daughter and I were there alone. Kind of strange.
There were plates everywhere. Thankfully open spaces at our table to put everything.
Food was salty.
You pay for the "show".
Carlose was very pleasant cook and had nice skill to show us
too far from bus
server neglect to take my order as other customers came in 2nd
ask for extra wasabi, was brought a stupid big gob
waitress was obviously not meeting me with a pleasant experience
Great place to try out Hibachi and watch your food prepared fresh and sizzling hot in front of you.
This is our 3rd year going to Benihana at the request of our daughter for her birthday. If it weren’t for her earnest request to go here for her birthday, we would never go. Super noisy, extremely overpriced, mediocre service. Just not really worth it in my opinion.
Good service and food. The only negative is the noise level
We arrived just before 3 PM and were seated quickly. This was my birthday dinner and it was just perfect. Our server approached and he was known to us. He greeted the whole table warmly and immediately took drink orders that were promptly delivered. I was a bit put out because we never got any tea but I didn't think about it until I got home. Those were followed by the soup course and the salad. Then the chef appeared and started with a fabulous show that never ceases to amaze me. The food was scrumptious and plentiful. He finished up and left us to finish our dinners. Our server kept our water glasses filled and cleared plates away. It was a nice dining experience except for the lack of tea.
I hadn't been since once in Seattle maybe 30 years ago. Thought it'd be fun to revisit for mine and my little brother's birthday. We had a blast. Jacob was an awesome chef and took special care of my vegan nephew while still workin' the table for all of us. Very charming and we totally enjoyed everything. Thank you.
Always a good time, and consistently reliable experience.
Birthday dinner Dinner was amazing and the cook was phenomenal the server getting our beverages did not check on it very often and the heating and cooling system in the very back room was horrific
Clothes smell terrible after due to bad ventilation, but food is always consistent and tasty.
It was a good place for a date night. $130 for my wife and I to eat with one drink. It was good food and the service was good. Very loud and hard to hear what the server and chef were saying. Overall it was a good time and we will go back again.
Fun show and tasty food!
Excellent food staff facility were definitely a repeat customer
Love the waitresses and staff. The food is great and I would recommend it to all
Too noisy hard to order, my order was wrong a couple of times.
Allen is amazing! Top chef!
We continue to go back serval times a year, and I am not sure why. The service is not like it used to be. Dishes are never cleared unless you ask. You have to chase down a waitress to get anything. The table always looks dirty because of this.
My other complaint is ice cream with some meals and not others. The cost is so minimal and it is the principal. You order the most expensive item on the menu and it doesn't come with ice cream!?! That is just rediculos. For the very small cost to the restaurant, it should be given with all entries as it was in the past. A pretty cheap business practice
Excellent service and our chef was really entertaining. Perfect spot to celebrate birthdays.
We have enjoyed coming to Benihanas to celebrate our birthdays for years now. Your restaurant, although, sometimes a bit overbooked, does not ever disappoint our family tradition. Thank you for making this tradition such a special one for us.
Loved it, and our chef and attendant (waitress) ere amazing!
We were put into a back room which was extremely cold. The air conditioning was so strong that we were shivering during out entire meal. It kind of ruined the evening. The seater said she would try to adjust the air but we didn't notice it. Also, they forgot to bring a filet that we ordered and we had to remind them (not the cook's fault but the seater).
