Benihana - Beaverton
The smell of the cooking is really strong, very noisy, the food was ok and the prices are high!
The food was good as always. The chef was just ok, but not quite up to a Benihana standard experience. The food could be a little cheaper for the amount you get considering fried rice is not included.
Lunch service was unbelievably slow. Reservations were at 1PM. We finally left around 3:15. The waitress was missing most of the lunch. I had to get up 2x and walk to the bar to ask for items. I will be back but I do hope the lunch service improves!
I’ve never been to dinner as late as I went this time. They were very behind on seating us and our chief took forever to cook plus didn’t have many tricks.
We came here for our birthdays with two Chef Table certificates. We were a party of 6. Service was a bit slow and our chef was relatively new. Not a lot of interaction with him. Food was good but there were multiple mistakes/missing items that had to be rectified. Pace of meal was off in that none of us got our entire meal at once. Probably not our best experience at Benihana.
The chefwas great, my waitress not so much. I had a wonderful time regardless.
It took 40 minutes before food even started. Didn’t quite taste as good as normal.
Tonight we enjoyed dinner for my son’s 8th Bday. Food was great service was awesome.
We had a great time! I believe our chef was new, and still learning how to do the show, but the food was excellent and we enjoyed the people we were seated with. Thanks again!
Great food. Very busy and felt a little crowded but overall a great anniversary date!
Nancy and Amando were very attentive and friendly!
We love Benihana and have been coming for many many years celebrating birthdays and special occasions. The food was excellent. The preparation was spot on. The service was a bit to be desired. I believe the waiter was a first timer doing the job, but he was nice. The experience was a bit out of order...took picture before the birthday meal. It doesn't deter us from coming back. We just hope the next time will be more normal. He was nice and was trying make up for any problems. So nothing a bit more practice won't make percfect.

It was crazy expensive and the food did not fill me up and the chef messed up in every trick and I will probably never go there again because of that experience
our chef was a young guy fairly new but an excellent cook, some of the best tasting food I have ever had at Benihana, everything was great. He had some pretty good jokes that he told us while cooking, very entertaining and smooth at what he was doing.
We always have fun and amazing food when we go to Benihana!
Would have gotten a 5 star if the main light that spots the grill wasnt out, and we all were extremely cold.. otherwise the chef was nice, the food was a little pricey but good and my kids loved the experience which made it all worth it!
Birthday celebration and spending time with family and this was a great place to experience that, thank you!
Jose was phenomenal.
We enjoyed the whole experience, Nancy received us and treated us very warmly and Jesus was the best in showmanship, food prep and kindness. Enjoyed meeting new friends to dine with.
We had a great time. We were seated with another young family so it was a hoot matching for the table. Always way too much food!
Food was great....cook was fun and gave a good show...my only co,plaint is that it’s very noisy unless you are in a side room with limited tables.
Our family has been coming to Benihana's for birthday dinners for 20 years. We always look forward to the occasion. Lately our cooks have been beginners, concentrating on the food and not entertaining. Our food was very good but no interaction between the cook and us. Plus the filters above our table were apparently missed in the last cleaning. They were dripping oil. A person from the kitchen came our and cleaned them while we were at the table. Water and/or oil has flying around and almost hit one of our plates. We will be back but it is not the same as years ago.
I had the Seafood Diablo. The squid was rubbery and the pieces too big. Calamari should always be cut in narrow strips, not squares. The flavor was missing from the dish. Could have used a better seasoning. Our server was very polite and courteous. We appreciated the pictures she took and the free ice cream for the members of our party who did not order an entree.
Food was delicious, the show was great. Our cook, Carlos (aka Christopher) was very good and entertaining. Thanks for the fun time!
Made a reservation for 8pm. Was not seated until 8:30pm. Did not actually start making our dinner untill 9:45. Finished around 11:20pm. Clothing reaked of oil and just food smell in general. Not worth the price. Very noisy. Waitress and chef were very nice
We have been to Benihanas on our anniversary for 24 years. Our reservation was for 8pm, the cook did not come out until 10pm to START cooking. If our cook, Christopher, wasn't so funny, we would have left. I have never had to wait so long. We live in Vancouver and drive a very long way to come here and did not get home until almost midnight. Very disappointed with our visit this time.
Great food and entertainment. I would recommend. Can’t believe I have not gone there in many years.
Love the food and experience but for the second time we waited nearly an hour from being seated to the chef arriving. Just be prepared that you need at least 2 hours to dine here.
We came for a birthday celebration and spent $250.00 on a dinner. They couldn't get us up from the table fast enough.... to start the grill wasn't warmed up so we had to wait. They comped us some terrible tempura things.... would have rather had a credit off the bill! Then they forgot to take our photo. The girl says - come over here to get your photo this is a great spot! Then they decended on our table cleared everything, including my wine which I was still drinking and since it cost me $15 a glass I'd have liked to finish it at my table. They brought it back to me as I was walking out the door as if I am that desparate. The photo, btw, was horrible, you can't even see my son's face becase the downlighting was ridiculous. It was just rush, rush, rush. Sad experience for a place we have always loved. Either leave more time for families to enjoy their meal or get a bigger restaurant. Sage our cook, however, was amazing!
Love Benihana will be back often much more fun with a group of friends
My wife and I started going to the Benihana in Marina Del Rey Calif before we were married. We have gone many times over the years with friends and family for special occasions and on business.
We just went again to cerebrate or 43rd anniversary.
We have a menu that was given to us in April of 1978 with a photo for my wife's birthday. Benihana has been consistent-in food and service over the years, where ever we have traveled to.
The prices have gone up a bit since 1978 when the Filet Mignon was $4.75 and we have to travel 45 miles to get there, but it has NEVER disappointed in food or service
Excellent service, food and fun to celebrate grandma and grandpa’s 56 wedding anniversary!
The chef was not entertaining. He was quite the whole time and did no tricks. We had our 2 kids and that’s what they love. The food wasn’t the same either. No favor at all. He rushed the meal.
You try to fit too many people o to one table. There is no leg room or elbow room so I had to sit on the corner of the table.
The food was fair. The steak had no flavor but was tender. The chef did put on a nice show for the kids and service was good.
Chef Malik was great. Our hostess took great care of us. Love coming to Benihanas to celebrate.
I love the food, our chef Timeteo(sp) was fantastic! We always enjoy ourselves and we celebrated our anniversary, which they made special for us!
I go a couple times per year, it is always fun. Delicious food.
While we have been to this Benihana before and have enjoyed the service, one of the reasons why it costs as much as it does, is about the experience. The customer is paying for a show, and the flair to have to food cooked expertly in front of them, while the chef does tricks with the food and tries to be playful and dazzle the customers with their expert cooking skills.
Our service this time was not so great, we waited almost a hour before the chef appeared, the waitstaff at that point did much of the work and were very gracious, and kept letting us know the chef would be there soon.
The chef we had was very new, it was her first week, and she tried very hard and in the end all the food was cooked well, what was lost was the show that Benihana is famous for, lots of fumbling, very little tricks and a bit of a mess trying to cook the fried rice heart.
Now here is the thing, I don't think any of this is the chef's fault, she is new and doing her best, and I am very sure in time she will be expertly flipping eggs and shrimp tails into her hat and pocket, and she did a lovely job cooking the food, my steak melted in my mouth. What I am pointing out is that this type of restaurant is famous for the experience it gives, and customers come in for a show, so I sort of felt bad for the 3 birthdays at our table that looked a little disappointed for not getting that.
Food was very good, service was excellent
