We were late for our reservation, the address and GPS had us searching on Peachtree however the entrance is actually 1 block over on the 1 way street on the backside of the mall.

While they were looking to close we were still seated and treated well and allow to celebrate my son' birthday. We were last seated for the evening but the server and chef still took great care of us.

Only negative is location and the pan handlers downto

Visited on a Sunday, Restaurant opens at 2pm. Doors opened at 2:07pm. Even though it was 7 mins. It was 7 mins of waiting in the cold. Got seated about 2:15 our chef didn’t come out to cook till 2:45. I feel that since they opened at 2. They should have been ready and not have all the wait times. Food was good as always.

I will never go back to this location our experience was CRAP all the way down to the manager aruging with employee and us as the customers. We did not get the full experience of the restaurant we waited over and hour before the cook was even ready and when he came to the table was still not ready his stand was not right the order was wrong and no tricks while making the food. The restrooms where disgusting no toilet paper and toilet water all over the floor. This location needs to be shut down and under new management smoke coveted the place as looks like the vents are in horrible shape this was the worse benihana's we have ever went to.

This restaurant does not honor reservation times; if you want to make a reservation to go, don't count on it working at peak times. I have been to the Benihana in Downtown Atlanta twice in the past six months. Both times my party had a reservation. Both times my party arrived at or before the reservation time. Both times my party had to wait to be seated. The first time we had to wait for over an hour to be seated with a very uncomfortable wait - those who have been to this restaurant know that it has a very small (5ft x 10ft) section for people waiting to get to the host/hostess stand and those waiting to be sat, and on this occasion there were at least 25 people jammed into this "holding area." We were told the wait would be 10-15 minutes, but it turned out to be an hour or more. The second occurrence was this past week when my party and I arrived 5 minutes early and were subsequently told that it would be a 15-20 minute wait. This time we proceeded to the bar in the back of the restaurant to wait, but after 25 minutes nobody had come for us. One of our party members went to the host stand and inquired about the holdup and was told that it would be another hour before they could seat us. He turned and walked halfway back to the rest of the group before turning back around and asking to see a manager. He explained the situation to the manager and returned to the group at the bar. Finally, the host came over and sat us at the manager's behest, but then there was confusion because the another host was trying to seat another party at this table. Once this was resolved, it took another 30 minutes for them to get our order and even bring out the first course (soup) and then another 45 minutes before the hibachi chef even arrived at the table to prepare the main course of the meal. All in all, it was over 2 hours after our original reservation time that our chef started preparing our main entrees. The food is great, but I won't go to this location again.

Service was horrible. An hour wait AT table before cooking and then 30+ minute wait to get check back. Big waste of time and money. Do not go!

I dined alone, so I assumed there was an area to just enjoy a meal and not watch the show. However, my only options were to sit at the bar or watch the show. So I made the best of it and met some great people at the table for the show. The chef was great, food was wonderful. Only complaint is the hostess would take a long time to return since the resteraunt became busy. Would return again soon.

We made a reservation for 8:30 pm. We spend 4 hrs there. We wait almost two hours to get the table. After that we wait 1 hr for the chef. I made that reservation to receive a friends from Fl and have a good time with them in City. The experience was not good. The waiting time was ridiculous. Very bad organization.

We had a reservation at 7pm. We get there and they said it would be a wait, that was fine but then it started to get past 30 minutes so we asked again how long. Maybe another 15 minutes. Long story short we ended up waiting for an HOUR And THIRTY MINUTES after our reservation time. After we got seated it took another hour for the cook to come out. Now I know this place isn’t like a normal restaurant and we have to wait for the guest to get up and leave, so why even have a system where you can book reservations on the weekend if we aren’t going to be sat until 2 hours later? The food was good and our waitress kept us laughing but the manager stayed she would give us something off for the long wait time and when we got our bill she didn’t take anything off. I didn’t care if she did or didn’t but don’t say you are going to do something and then tell the whole table that’s not what you said. This was our first time visiting this location but we know now to go back to the other one instead.

This was one of the only places we could find open on a Sunday night. We had a reservation and were seated, then a cook never came forever. Some guy sat there and ordered carry out for 5 people...craziest thing. We will not go back!

We arrived at the restaurant on time. It was crowed around the entrance. They found the reservation on their computer but they said they were a little short-handed and did not know when we would get seated. They couldn't even give us a time estimate. There was a group waiting next to us. Our reservation was for 7:30. Their reservation was for 7:00 and they were still waiting. What is the point of getting a reservation when the restaurant will not honor it? Why use your app when the restaurant will not honor it? You should remove Benihana from your app. We went somewhere else to eat. I gave everything one star because this survey isn't entered until every category is rated.

In a word: horrible. We arrived at 655PM for our 7PM reservation. The host's stand was overflowingly crowded. They told us the wait would be an hour. They offered us a drink that we ultimately had to pay for. We left at 730 and went to another restaurant.

Arrived on time for our 5:00pm reservation to be told they were “running behind.” Left at 5:30 to find other options so we would still make our show on time. Taco place around the corner was decent.

I would not recommend this Benihana location.

I was looking forward to this for about a month. I hate to say I was very disappointed. First off the wait. I booked a reservation to avoid this problem. Get there and people who came in after my party was sat right away. When asked what was the reason they simply said they offer looked my name. Finally getting to the table and while ordering I was told they were out of sushi. Like completely out. How? Idk. As stated I was really looking forward to this dinner and wad really looking forward to the las Vegas sushi and couldn't have it. Next the cook. Didn't not interact with the table. Just cooked the food, made a heart with the rice and that was it. Lastly the birthday song. I was there to celebrate my birthday usually they sing in Japanese and the whole experience is fun. Not this time. He was not going to sing if someone also at the table did not ask. And he only acknowledged that one group. I brought along someone who has never been to the restaurant before and telling them all good things but sadly we were both left disappointed.

We were over the 15 minute grace period for our reservation time, however, it took a significant amount of time from where we parked to locating the restaurant, we came in through the mall on Peachtree, and once we found the restaurant, we weren’t greeted for a long period of time, prob 10 min or so. We were told that it was the rear entrance but we had never been there before so wouldn’t know any different. We were then made to wait over an hour even though our parking ticket aligned with the reservation time. The Manager suggested that we try other local restaurants if we didn’t want to wait. It was my son’s birthday and this is where he wanted to eat. I had called ahead to determine where to park but the actual main entrance is on a different street than the physical address. They need to email directions and parking info and detail on the bookings page of Open Table. Our waitress didn’t bring over birthday treat or take pictures til after she took up the check, I felt as if it was an afterthought, that she remembered we were there for a birthday. Next time I’ll make the drive to the Buckhead location, where i’ve never experienced a problem with parking, customer service, or wait staff. We only came here because my daughter’s dorm is downtown.

We set our reservation for 6:30. We arrived on time. We left at 7:15 with out having been seated. At least half the tables were empty. The people who were seated were waiting a long time with just waters. Was under staffed and seemed unclean to me. I love Benihana's, but not this one. We had a very nice meal at Cuts Steakhouse just 200 feet away, and were seated immediately.

We had a reservation at Benihana's (229 peachtree). We arrived (myself, my daughter and two grandchildren - a one and two year old) on time. No one was there to greet us, after waiting I finally flagged someone down. Once he returned after checking us 15 minutes later he said we arrived late and could not seat us and that we would be on the waiting list for 40 minutes. After telling him we were there on time and no one was there when we arrived to check us in he said they were on the opposite end of the dining room and we should have found them. This was rude unaccommodating and bad business practices. The restaurant was full and it is clear they do not honor reservations here.

Worst experience EVER! I will never step foot at this location ever again. Let's start with a reservation myself and 2 other colleagues had at 2pm. Our fault, we all arrived around 2:16 ,due to a accident on Peachtree street that was causing our tardiness. I make a call at 2:02 advising that we were running late. I was told that we had a 15 min window. Great, or so I thought. When we first entered there was a line already formed. So we all assumed this was the line. We lost time standing there only to realize all those people had already checked in..yet was staying in formation. Our fault again. Finally walk around and check in, server tells me it will be about 25 mins since we were past our reservation time..No prob. We wanted to catch up anyways, so we stood chatting for a good while. We go check again on the wait as we have past the 25min mark. Server 2 apologizes and seats all of us at table 1. So now we are seated for another 10 mins maybe even longer before server 1 comes to us and say I don't know why she sat y'all here, this table doesn't work. By now we are a little irritated by the service. So we asked to speak to a Manager to get moved to a working table. We sat another 5 or so minutes and this lady walks up to the table and rudly says "Y'all wanted to see me?" Shocked, we all kinda looked at each other and I proceeded to introduce myself and explain from the start that we just wanted to be moved to a working table. The lady interrupts me and began to say "y'all missed your reservations, you shouldn't have been seated in the first place." Offended, I said to her we understand we were late, however we didn't just come walk back here and seat ourselves, your staff seated us. Long story short the lady was very confrontational. Refused to give us corporate number. Told me to "Google " it! Also when asked her name she yelled Michelle I'm the GM! Immediately I was embarrassed that I had engaged in a verbal war with this lady.

I had a reservation for 7:00 pm. I arrived 15 minutes prior to my reservation. I was not seated to 7:45 pm. I watched people another group of people walk straight in the door, to be seated immediately, when I inquired about this to the manager, I was insured those people were not seated, but merely passing through the establishment. When I was seated, I saw those very same people, I inquired about seated at a table. Furthermore, it took an additional hour for the chef to show up to our table. He didn't to take his job seriously. He dropped one of the eggs, in his trick, cracking it, and had to remove egg shells. Additionally, he dropped almost all of the tails from shrimp tails in the hat trick, he dropped the pepper three times in the pepper shaker trick, right into the middle of the rice he was prepping. Lastly, when I asked for additional garlic butter in my rice, he told me it would be an additional charge without cracking a smile, and plopped it on my rice when it had already cooled, therefore it did not melt, but just laid on my rice, looking unappealing. I asked him to place it in my rice while he was still preparing it. I was there for a birthday celebration. Overall, my experience was fair, and that was because of my company, not because of my service, or treatment.

Soooooo we had "reservations" for 7:30pm but no chef until 9pm. I don't think much else needs to be said about that.

In regards to the food- I've had much better hibachi at my local spot minus the hefty price tag. We definitely paid for the name of the restaurant instead of the quality/taste of the food.

One positive... my drink was strong and kept me calm and mellow, because I was NOT happy. Guests from out of town to celebrate my birthday and got crappy food and service. Sigh...
