We have tried this restaurant at different times on different days. They do not have enough staff and therefore the service is AWFUL. It is not the staff... our waitress was very personable and we could see her running around overly busy. No manager to be seen helping. Only 2 chefs cooking with 6-8 tables full on the floor.
Not worth the 90+ minutes it takes to have lunch here.
Done. Will not be back and will not recommend.

It was a nice small birthday dinner with family. Our only issue was the fact that our server was not seen as much as we liked, having to wait for refills and if we wanted extra sauce or anything.

Worst experience I’ve ever had at Benihana. Wait Time was good since the reservation was made and got there 15 minutes early. But the chef must have been having a bad/long day because it was very evident in the way the food was being made..the rice was crunchy, shrimps burnt, and SUPER stingy with the garlic butter. Asked for more garlic butter as I know i can put it on and make my food taste better lol, but that dollop didn’t cut it.

I have been visiting Benihana restaurants since the late 1970s. Always been a family favorite. This is the only negative experience I have ever had at a Benihana. The food was horrible and so was the service. Our chef was very kind but was new and definitely lacked training. He was sloppy and ruined the shrimp, lobster and vegetables. The fried rice that’s usually the favorite was flavorless… He did pretty well with the steak although he didn’t cut it small enough to eat easily.

We had a reservation so the wait was great. Our server took a while to serve us but she was friendly. We had a family of 6 so 2 others were seated with us. Not a pleasant experience!!! They were rude and disrespectful to our 4 children with us. They were also rude to our server. We weren't meant very happy to see that they got an 82 on the inspection either. Overall the experience was just ok. Especially for the Buckhead area. We live in Kennesaw but will definitely stick with our Alpharetta location from now on.

I love Benihana but this one has the worst customer service ever. They never have enough cooks or wait staff. I went for lunch and there were only 2 waitresses. Poor girls were barely keeping up. I would only recommend this location if you really want the food and don’t mind spending 3+ hours out of your day to eat. It’s even worst on Friday and Saturday nights.

Waiter changed the amount of her tip without me giving authorization. Called and spoke with the manager and he assured me that he would look into and get back with me. As of today I have yet to here back from him. So, I would assume that I would have to file a claim with my bank.

Had to wait even though we had a reservation and our entire party was present. Waited over 40 minutes for a drink from the bar, which the waitress claimed was because they were backed up but we received one drink and not the other. Waited nearly an hour for the chef to come after placing our order and he was boring. Waited 15 minutes to speak to the manager regarding the drink not arriving. The restaurant was not busy or over crowded. No clear reason for such poor service. I’be dined at multiple locations over the years and this one is by far consistently the worst service. Very disappointed and will not be back despite living around the corner.

Benihana, what's happened to you?! My wife and I had dinner at the Buckhead Atlanta location
and were very disappointed. You are a shadow of what you once were. At one time, Benihana was the place to go for Japanese hibachi cooking. Evidently, not anymore. First, the restaurant needs a serious face lift and freshening. It looks old and dated. Our waitress, while sweet and polite, seemed a bit scattered and unorganized. The young man who did the cooking, was also very nice, but seemed like he was a rookie and not too sure of himself. The first clue was the rice, there were three of us getting steamed rice, the rest were getting fried rice. Instead of pulling our three portions out of his rice tray, he cooked all of it as fried rice. The server had to bring us rice from the kitchen, after we had eaten most of our other food. It was cold and stale, instead of being fresh and hot had it been done right. We received a pitiful amount of vegetables- one slice of zucchini each and onions, no mushrooms. The entree itself was very good, filet migon and lobster, both cooked perfectly. To end the evening, our server disappeared, we had to have someone find her to get our ice cream, which she brought out in to go containers (that we didn't request) and no spoons. Fortunately, my wife and I have a good sense of humor, so we laughed it off as an entertaining evening. However, we won't be back.

Normally, I’m not one to usually complain or write a review, but my experience was terrible- from food to service. The icing on the cake? I split the bill with someone, and the server changed the tip on both receipts.

We are regulars at this location and have been for 20+ years. They seem to be either short staffed/overbooking or both. It is getting slower and slower to get seated and have the chef arrive at our table. While waiting we are taken care of but it is getting worse and worse

The atmosphere was very loud and the service was horrible. I dont every want to go back to this one. One chef was saying he tell his girls to rack it up. He was really loud and obnoxious. The staff completely ignore us. The server who brought our soups and salad just kind of threw it on the table. I asked for extras and was given less than the rest of the table. Worst birthday dinner ever

I printed my coupon and presented it. The hostess came from a place of no not from warmth and hospitality. In mediately said 45 min wait. Then I informed. Her I had my coupon she said no, no ,no. Then I informed my res, I still waited 45.30 minutes to get drink. 1:30for 2nd drink. I more hour food. Even place was empty. Trash
outside in front entrance. I was with elderly parents. Experience very stressful. I thought about leaving several. I also had to hunt waitress down to pay. We were all bummed out on the way back home. Not what I had imagined it would the experience would be. Everything was a struggle. We could not wait to leave. In the photo you can see no drinks empty no drink refill and still no food. We had not eaten and we were starving. No salad or anything yet. We visited to celebrate my husband graduating the police academy. It’s great if you can get a group of 8 together and have the whole table. Chef E was amazing and I would gladly welcome him to cook for us on our next visit. His customer service was impeccable. He noticed the grill was not clean before he began cooking and rather cook on a somewhat clean grill he apologized for the delay and promptly cleaned the grill until it sparkled. It was nice to see that he both took pride in his craft and refused to serve us anything but the most delicious food he could offer.

If you want Benihana go to the one downtown! The service sucks. My server tried to convince me that my 5 course meal doesn’t come with fried rice because I got noodles already. Then charged us chicken fried rice when we ordered vegetable fried rice and she said oh it’s the same price, when it’s not. We waited over an hour before they actually started cooking our meal

Benihana has really changed....for the worst! First of all the cooks are NOTHING like they used to be and the cook we had was not good at all. The food was very bland and had no taste. It took forever to get anything. The waitress was pretty nice but she was waiting 3 other table in addition to ours which caused her to forget things and check on us. Benihana gone have to do better because it is one of my favorites. I will try a different location next time before I totally give up.

A bit disappointed this time. We are great fans of Benihana, and visit very often. This time, the wait for the chef was excessive, table next to us still full of dirty plates (unsightly) and restaurant was severe under staffed. I hope our next visit will be up their higher standards.

The worse experience I’ve ever encountered. Our reservations were at 4pm. We weren’t seated until after 5:20 or so. Waiter didn’t come for another 20 minutes, so we chose to order drinks at the bar. It took us over 2 and half hours to eat. The food was crappy, tasteless and the service was worse. The hostess at the front door was overly rude, rolled her eyes often and never smiled once. She treated us like crap despite the fact that we spent a lot of money with this restaurant Sunday being a party of 10. I will never go back or recommend this restaurant anyone! Also, their health scores showed as a 82, which is not great in my eyes. Our food was tasteless, we had to beg for our appetizers, and refills. Our soup and salad finally came as the chef was prepping our food to cook. Server was never anywhere to be found. Way too long! Most unprofessional staff I’ve ever encountered. Also, it was my mother’s birthday of which I told them approximately 5-6 times. They refused to sing Happy Birthday on my mother’s behalf. Meanwhile, they sang to two other tables while we were there. We were just ready to go after seeing the hurt and disappointment in my mother’s eyes. We didn’t even eat our food and definitely didn’t care to order dessert. Don’t go here you will be completely disappointed!

My visit to Benihana Buckhead Atlanta on 10/16/17 was less than desirable. Our reservation was at 6pm. All three of us arrived on time and although we were seated within 15 min, the wait for the cook to arrive at our table was way too long (over an hour). The cook (Dakota) was very personable and entertaining. The ultimate point of disarray was when the waitress ran both of my girlfriend's credit cards for payment at the wnd of out meal and they (two different cards) did not go through. When told of the situation we asked to speak to a manager and when he approached us he immediately accused my friends of having banking issues and asked them to call their banks (at 8:30 pm) to rectify it because there was not a problem with Benihana's system. Instead of trying to figure out the problem he continued to hold a conversation which was loud and embarrassing. Finally he tried another register and bypassed a system generated request to enter a PIN # and both payments went through. He should have tried this resolve first instead of embarrassingly insinuating that the issue was with their bank. Management needs better training!

My reservation wasn't honored. I got there at 7:40pm for a 7:30pm reservation. I was told that all reservations for that day had been blocked off since that morning. So if that were the case why was online reservations still an option? Would make more sense to just put on the website to call the restauarant or that a table "wasn't available at the selected time." To add insult to injury, a manager was standing there the whole time the hostess was giving me the "reservation" spill & even asked the hostess himself why my reservation couldn't be honored. And STILL did nothing about it. I wasn't seated until almost 9pm. The waiter was so busy paying attention to another table that he forgot about our table. I didn't leave this establishment until after 11pm. Service was poor from when we walked in the door!
