Benihana - Atlanta - Buckhead Ratings and Reviews
The service was horrible. The waitress was not polite at all she didn't allow the people enough time to really inform her on what they wanted before she tried to move on to the next. We then informed the chef as to how we wanted our food prepared and that seemed to go in one way and out the other because those directions weren't followed. It took forever to get refills and she disappeared for about 30mins. I will never go to this location ever again.
I went to Benihana in hopes that the restaurant quality had improved since my visit last January. Unfortunately, the staff and service were similarly poor. Despite the restaurant being approximately half full. My party and I faced a 2 hour wait before being seated. Once seated, the service was slow with the waiter often forgetting items which caused the pacing of the meal to be off. The quality of the food prepared for the hibachi meals was fair. I have definitely had better meals at Benihana in past years and will have to give up on hopes that this location will improve. I won't be returning.
We were celebrating my son ‘s ANGELversary and we had a large party of 20. The chief was very entertaining and we had lots of fun. The food was very good. But my friend missed out on a lot of food because there weren’t enough gluten free substitutes. But we all enjoyed the event. It’s a very family friendly place. I suggest they should expand gluten free menu.
Our reservation was for 8pm. They say you have a 15 minute grace period for all guest to be present. All guest was there by 8:15pm. We sat there after being seated for almost 2 hours before our food was prepared. The only good thing about the entire evening was the Cook...great personality and tried to make up for the long wait. Very disappointing.
My husband and I decided to dine at Benihana's for my birthday. If it wasn't for the great tasting food and my determination to let nothing ruin my birthday; I'd say it was a big mistake. We made reservations for 7:30pm. Although, we were seated at 7:30pm, our drink orders were not taken until about 8:10pm, not delivered until 8:30pm. It was about 9pm before our food orders were taken and another 30 minutes until our Chef arrived. I asked to speak to a manager who seemed very nonchalant about the wait and both he and the host attempted to blame our server for the wait, stating the server was responsible for securing a chef. He offered 20% off our bill for the inconvenience, but once the bill arrived he only discounted 15%.
Our Chef Richie was outstanding and saved what could of been a disastrous night. His energy was infectious and caused everyone at our table to seemingly forget about the terrible service prior to. He even offered appetizers to the table next to us because they had been waiting for quite some time as well.
I doubt we would ever return to this location.
This place has severely declined over the years. We had a reservation and still we waited for an hour for the cook to come to the hibachi after we were seated. Our server was working with for for parties at our drinks and appetizers took forever. We had to beg for refills And would only refill some of the glasses and others had to still wait. We didn’t get any sauces until we packed our food to leave. I try to place a to go order for California rolls and was told I would have to wait an additional 20 minutes. We had children in our party and the chef did nothing to entertain them as they had to watched other tables to see what those chefs were doing with the fire and tricks. We asked several times for certain things to be done while the chef is cooking and they didn’t happen and her food was underseasoned. Our whole experience was 3 1/2 hours long And underwhelming.
Enjoyed the dinner. Chef Richie was excellent with entertainment and conversation as he prepared dinner for everyone at my table. He has a personally that made it very welcoming and relaxing as we enjoyed the atmosphere and tasty dinner. The waitress was also very pleasant and made sure we received great service. We will return very soon and informed our friends of the dinner we had recommending they visit soon.
All I can say is ewww - this place is stale, sticky, in need of much upgrades for the prices you’re paying. It feels like a shoney’s circa 1980 but you’re shelling out $30 a plate. The service is abysmal. Took 30min to get a glass of wine. It’s a huge waste of money - there’s so many better restaurants in Atlanta.
Made reservations for 7pm. Was seated at 7:15. Server was super sweet but you could tell stretched too thin. Chef did not show up until an hour and 20 mins later. Chef was very considerate but not that great. Food was mediocre. Manager was nice and apologetic. Have a 25% discount. Didn't leave until 10 pm.
Been to this location many times, but this time was different. We were seated immediately but had to wait for everything once we were seated. It took a long time for soup and salad to come out and it was no less then 45 mins after that when the cook finally made a debut. He was great and food was awesome.
Horrible attitudes, Horrible food and service. They have given smaller portions on carryout orders the last 2 times I was there. They also do not give you all of your to go order. I had to call back each time in reference to my messed up to go order only to be placed on hold for over 25 minutes with no manager ever coming to the phone. I have been hung up on, on purpose by a server. They need to shut down and start over with their staff at this location. Teach them phone etiquette and etiquette over all. The place did not use to be this bad now it down hill.
We walked in and were promptly seated. We had a full table. Everyone placed orders. Drinks took 30 minutes to come out. After an hour of waiting after ordering, we asked where the chef was because this was lunch for us all. Some people had to go back to work. The chef came out shortly thereafter. We’d asked for a manager, only to be told he was in an inspection and would come out 45 mins later. Surprisingly we were still there. This place needs a redo. Management needs help, chefs need help, waitstaff need training. It’s gone down so much over the years. I have no desire to return.
Our chef Richie was AWESOME! he cooked and engaged with us at the same time. He was very entertaining and made the food taste great and it was seasoned well!
The service in the other hand from the waitress was HORRIBLE AND SLOW! we had to ask several times for our sushi after everyone had already received theirs and I am still waiting on ice and my second mimosa! She was very slow and never gave her name! I will return but only because of the chef Richie (aka Ayugonow)
Although it was Christmas night it took a hour to be seated with reservations. 30 minutes to get a drink no refills. Another hour for a chef. Waitress never seen. Complete unprofessionalism by waitress and hostess. Very disappointing
Really great server and chef were especially appreciated as I know they had been very busy all day. Restaurant was cold but they may need to keep it cooler because of the open cooking - but I had to wear my jacket(very cold outside that night too). Flavor and quality of food was good. We were there Christmas Day evening with family visiting from out of town.
In my 6 years living in Atlanta this is by far the worse dining experience I’ve had (and it may be my only true bad dining experience during that time). Our reservation was at 6pm and we were seated at 6:35pm. Then it took another 15min before the waiter showed up, and another 40 before any food was served. The bill included erroneous charges. The food was meh, and so was the chef “show” you expect in this type of restaurant. It was not just us. People seated at our table had the same experience, as did the table next to us. First time for me going to this Benihana (Buckhead) and will definitely be the last.
im not gonna be too harsh because it was christmas eve but i would expect regardless that if you take the time to make reservations then your wait time to be seated shouldnt be an hour and then another hour for the cook to arrive. The best part of my evening was the server she was on point and tried her best to make up for the lackluster service from everyone else and to top it off the food tasted horrible too much seasoning
This location has lost its touch, The wait staff is rude, the food was not good, the wait was horrible I was seated at 12:30 the chef came to cook until 1:15 that's a long time to wait. Our waitress would go missing in action when you needed the check, to go container, or a refill on the drinks. I use to attend this location once a month but now I will not ever return or recommend.
