Had a horrible wait time. We had a reservation but took at least 20 mins before we got seated. Then it took forever to get started with getting food. Waited over almost an hour before we got any food service. The place wasn’t even a third full. No one at our table could figure it out. Some of us were gonna get up and leave but then the chef showed up. Not sure if they didn’t have enough chefs show up cause there were plenty of workers standing around. Probably will never come again. Yelp reviews said terrible wait times and we experienced the same thing.
Food was great, the wait was over 2hrs long with reservations. Extra help is definitely needed at this location.
Not a fan of this garlic infused food, chicken is only cooked with garlic butter leaves it with no taste. Overpriced for the quality and taste of food!
I am always satisfied when I come to restaurant. The staff is very friendly and professional. My needs are always respected with the staff. I truly love this place.
The service was meh but the food per usual was BOMB and the reason I can deal with the so so service.
Wait is too long after being seated with a reservation. We waited at least 25 minutes before Chef came to our table or to be served.
It was a disappointing experience. Having been there years ago and enjoyed it, we were frustrated by the poor service and less than enjoyable ambiance. Certainly not worth what we paid.
Even though we had reservations we had to wait for a chef, but because that was unexpected we got free California Rolls for the wait. Food was great!

The worst place ever. It was dirty the person who was to seat us had attitude. Cancelled my birthday reservations. Thanks but no thanks. Not to mention I saw2 women about to fight as I left. Horrible.
The restaurant was disgusting. The chef “cleaned the grill with a dirty stained rag that smelled . I was packed at the table with another group of 3 . The food was overpriced and gross. Who would ever go back ? Worst birthday ever
I had an 8pm reservation. We were seated close to 9:30. I was redeeming my birthday certificate. At some point the hostess just left the stand and stopped answering questions about how much longer the wait would be. The worst part of my experience was my server. She refused to write down our order correctly, so I reached out to the manager about that as well. One friend's water with no ice came out with ice, and my soup with no onions or mushrooms came out with onions and mushrooms. We asked for refills constantly. She took so long to speak to us once we were seated, that we ordered food and drinks together. To top it all off, for my birthday dessert, she didn't even ask me what kind of ice cream I want. She picked a flavor all by herself and struck out! I had to request a new dessert after my birthday song. She was flat out rude to us. The extremely long wait, mixed with the worst service I have ever experienced ruined my evening. I never made it to my final birthday destination because I was there for three hours. The chef on the other hand was fun and did everything in his power to save my night. My hibachi was great. I have given up on eating dinner at this location completely.
The hostess when checking in had a horrible attitude. The wait was long even though I had a reservation. This was one of the worst experiences I had at this location.
I have nothing negative to say about the food, once we got it it was hot and delicious. But we had to wait 2 hours to be waited on. No the restaurant was not busy. We had reservations. There was not enough chefs on duty to service people . It was upsetting to see people waiting or being turned away at the door. You would think on a busy day like Sunday afternoon when alot of families go out to dinner that they couldn't partake in a meal here.
The downtown location sered us immediately on a separate occasion.
If it wasn’t for the server and the hibachi chef I wouldn’t have given this restaurant a three-star rating.
Every thing was good but with a reservation we still waited an hour really didn’t like that but the food was good and the cook could have been a little cleaner while cooking .

We had Reservations at 6:30 and by 7:30 no food still. My son was extremely hungry and couldn’t wait any longer! The service was horrible and unprofessional
Our first time dining at Benihana will be our last. We booked a family dinner, hoping for a fun but low key evening but it turned into a service nightmare. We arrived 10 minutes early for our 6 PM reservation and were seated at 6:10 in a restaurant that appeared to be no more than 1/4 full. After 5 minutes in our seats, a server breezed by and said she would be right with us. We didn’t see her again for another 10 minutes. She took our drink and dinner orders and after 20 minutes at our table without so much as having even water to drink, I got up and sought the manager. I shared with him our concern and he responded harshly and without even looking at me, “I will get that speeded up”. We never saw him again and our water did not arrive until we were at our table for over 30 minutes, 10 minutes after getting “help” from the manager. Our first course was prepared in front of us a full 55 minutes after taking our seats. My wife’s appetizer did not arrive before our dinner and would not have arrived at all if we didn’t ask about it. The appetizer of the other family seated at our table never arrived. At no point during our time there did anyone apologize for our experience much less acknowledge it. The restaurant eventually filled up and by the looks of those at other tables, they were all enjoying a similar bad experience.
Reservation means nothing we still had to wait 15 minutes to even be seated and then took almost another half hour before food being prepared - took forever!!!

Our reservation was at 8 and we didn’t eat until 9:30. The restaurant seemed unclean and the manager was unhelpful. However, although our waitress was new, she did her best to make the best of this bad situation.
The place was really dirty and unorganized. Just an abomination!

I love Benihana’s, I can eat there everyday, it’s healthy and that YUM YUM sauce is thee best... I recommend all my friends and family to go to any Benihana’s as long as they have the YUM YUM sauce.
I have to say this might have been the meal I've had at benihana's. Ask for Jarvis or JB for your cook. It's like he cooks it the way you would cook it at home. A1
Myself and a couple other diners said the same thing- that Benihana has changed drastically. I always have received melted butter for lobster or scallops melted on the heated cooktop table while the meals are being cooked. I was told that the cook is no longer allowed to put anything on the cooktop. So- I asked for it from the kitchen. Well, that wasn't really supposed to be done, either, as the lobster is cooked with butter. I had to ask numerous times to the melted butter and I finally asked to take home the raw lobster so I could cook it myself, but the cook indicated he had already beeb cooked. By the time I finally received melted butter from the kitchen the lobster was ice cold and it was awful. As the checks were being handed out I asked if the hot tea and ice cream dessert was no longer part of the meal. I did receive the dessert and tea long after I had received my check. I would not have received them had I not specifically asked for it. It was the worst experience I've ever had at Benihana's in the 40+ years that I've been dining at Benihana's. I think that was my last visit there. I'll find another similar restaurant that knows how to treat their customers as though they are respected and valuable.
Long wait had reservations that Meant nothing arrived at 130 didn’t leave until 5!!!! Missed other scheduled events due to this.
We enjoyed our meal, all the servers, and our chef. The hibachi itself was good but I liked the sushi more.

This experience was absolutely horrible! Never visiting again. Had a reservation a 1 and didn't leave until 3. The manager was very unapologetic stating that beginning to cook the food at 1:45 for a 1pm appointment was normal. No one turned the grill on so the food took extra long to cook because it wasn't hot. This was a lunch date which made me late getting back to work.
The staff was very pushy about my whole party not there on time. It was only a few people in the restaurant and I’m not sure why we weren’t just able to sit in the sitting area and wait. However, my brother eventually showed up, and we enjoyed ourselves. The chef was amazing and friendly. The food was fabulous.
