Benihana - Atlanta - Buckhead
service and food were mediocre and the camera was not working again - so we did not get a keep sake photo of our birthday celebration. don't think I will return to this restaurant.
Did not enjoy my food this visit, but chef and waiter were both friendly
The food good and they gave a good amount of portions of food
The rice was sticky and it was not good at all. I asked for extra butter in the end and I was advised by the chief it was a charge of .50 and I get it from the server... when this happened, I never had to pay before... the meal was already over 40 bucks and being charged for butter is Ridiculous and I don’t think I will be going back no time soon...
Reservations mean nothing here. From the ill equipped hostesses making excuses about the wait to the managers that do nothing to improve the service. Do not waste your time here. Alpharetta is the only other location.....worth the drive!
Our server and chef were wonderful
Great place to celebrate birthdays!
Delayed and unprofessional service with staff sharing their dysfunction with the guests. Double charged card and then blamed the bank for the mistake and refused to fix it immediately. Party of 8 spent nearly $500 and regretted the expenditure for sure. I recommend choosing a different hibachi experience to save time, energy, joy, and money.
Food is great, love the yum yum sauce...I think they should give you more fried chicken rice..it’s so good you have to order extra too enjoy it...everything thing else is wonderful ❤️
Actually we were very disappointed. We usually drive all he way to Alpharetta. First of all we had a reservation it took us 20 minutes to be seated another 15 to even get soup. We request a particular chef but did not get him. What is the use to making a request and not being able to get that person. The chef we had was so non chalaunt . We were celebrating a birthday for a family ember, I wanted to walk out and go to Houstons but we stayed. I guess I have to drive 30 mile to get great service and food. Probably will not go here again
Have been to several Benihana's across the world and I liked this one for my first visit. The best time to go is around 5:30 PM. Not crowded. Also..reservations are a MUST!! Will always visit here anytime I'm in town.
Our reservation was 3:30pm, but weren't seated until after 4pm. We didn't order until after 5pm. We were told they were short staffed. The chef didn't get to the table until 5:45pm. I will say, that the Rocky's Choice and Hibachi Chicken were delicious once our food finally got to us. We didn't leave until 6:30pm. It's never taken us 3 hrs to eat there before.
The service was a little slow but the food was good as always.
I enjoy going to Benihana as it is one of my favorite restaurants. This locations has definitely gone downhill so I'm assuming they are under new management. I made my reservation online and when I realized we were going to be late, I attempted to call. I tried to call for over an hour and no one EVER answered the phone. When I arrived the hostess stated that they don't take reservations online. I showed her my confirmation email and told her that I tried to call repeatedly. She then recanted and seated us with the next group. Our waitress was very nice but extremely slow. She kept forgetting to bring our drinks or condiments that we requested. The chef had to ask her at least 3 times for her to bring out more shrimp because she got the order wrong. The chef was amazing and the food was delicious. The customer service and organization is definitely lacking. The management either needs to hire more staff to answer the phones and take drink orders.
We had family visit from California. I think Benihana is bit pricey overall, but I think if you have a good chef to watch it makes up for it. We were lucky to have one!
It was great
We ate at one at the mall of America. The food and service was good. Especially the chicken fried rice. This time the rice wasn't the same took 1 and half hours to be seated. Waitress barely checked on us for beverage refills. Filet was tasteless and scallops were well and cut in quarter like I asked. But the char from the grill was all over them and the vegetables. Waste of good food and money this time.
Nye dinner. Food took long but was very delicious.
I had friends in from out of town and made reservations for this restaurant because they have never been. This was my first visit at this location so I was kind of skeptical based off of the reviews but it was in the area they were staying in so I made the reservation, big mistake. It took our group of 7 35 miniutes to get water/drinks, 45 minutes after complaining to get soup and salad, and over an hour before the chef was there. The chef was tired and low on energy. The food was decent but the presentation was not good. The manager did take half off of our order but I would of rather had great service.
Went to celebrate one of my friend’s birthday and it was really blah. Unfortunately the group that was seated with us were irritating and complained a lot so it made our experience very uncomfortable. The chef was okay but I’m that was due to the attitudes of the five other women we were seated with. The good was okay and the service was also. Probably won’t go back.
Monty was great. Thanks for a marvelous experience!
It was about an hour before the cook arrived at the table but he was very entertaining and the food was delicious. The waiter was always “busy doing several things” when we asked for different things
Birthday dinner for my teenage daughters. Was not informed that if everyone in the party was not present could not be seated so we lost our large table and when they showed up they had to sit separately. Or we would forfeit any table and have to be waitlisted. Other than that food was good and service.
It just wasn’t as good as I remember. The yum yum sauce was bland and the food was just ok. The salad was the best part and I order the steak and shrimp.
This WAS one of my favorite restaurants but it has to be by far the worse ever now. Customer service is VERY POOR. Chefs cooks very sloppy. Food was flying everywhere. Floors dirty. Smell was horrible. I left once the cook started to cook. He had food flying and I told them we had and allergy and he just wipes off cooking utensils with his apron. Digusting... Horrible Horrible Horrible place now.
Chef Keon is the Best. The food was excellent and the Calamari was the best I’ve ever had. My birthday celebration was awesome. 🥳
Our server was somewhat slow and kept disappearing but our chef was great. He cooked everything to perfection and was very personable.
I had reservations at 6:45pm - Did not get seated until 7:20pm - Did not get my order taken until 7:45pm - finally received the soup and salad at 8:25pm - the cook started making our meals at 8:45pm - Did not finish dinner until 9:45pm
We had to wait an hour to be seat, keep in mind we made reservations. The server and cook were great?
This location has horrible customer service!!! We usually go to the downtown location, but they closed it permanently. We decided to give this location another try and it was just another bad experience. For the amount of money you pay, you would think that the service and experience would be excellent. Wrong! Never going here again. We'll be traveling to Gwinnett to try that location out instead. It's crazy that we have to travel far for better customer service.
While my family and I normally have a great Christmas Day dinner at Benihana's (it's our tradition), this time was lackluster. The chef seemed preoccupied and not extremely interested in the dynamics of our table. His setup was incorrect, so he had to spend time trying to get it corrected. He seemed flustered and unable to have fun with us. He accommodated all of our dietary needs around the table. He did his "job" but didn't go out of his way to be the showman we have come to expect. Parking was easy. Our reservation time was honored quickly. The food was good. The service was satisfactory, but no one went out of their way to insure a good time or a good meal. Overall, I give this trip to Benihana a C+ when it usually gets an A. There is always next year!
Horrible experience. Waited 2 hours to be served despite having a reservation. The servers and chefs all seemed to be new and inexperienced. In fact our server had been on the job 2 days and was left to fend fur himself. Took an hour just to get drink orders and another hour for our table to get a chef. Perhaps it was just a fluke but I won't be back to find out.
Kira, the most ignorant server i’ve Ever had, completely made my experience the worst.! Not only did I sit and wait for 3 hours with a reservation but she completely messed my order up. I had a party of 7 and EVERY SINGLE ORDER was wrong. When the chef asked her about it, she argued saying that “y’all are some liars. Oh well y’all get what you get.” After she did that while rolling her eyes and walking away we spoke to the manager. He proceeded to take $10 off each bill even though none of us got what we ordered. I will never go back to this place. Everyone there is rude and unprofessional. I will be taking this issue higher and will make sure that all of social media and the news are aware of Kira and the manager as well.
Awesome if you make reservations. If not, expect a long wait
My family and I dined here for Christmas, as we are looking to establish new traditions after my father’s passing. We made a 1:15 reservation, but weren’t seated until well thereafter. While our waitress was good, the overall experience was not. I let her know that I was vegan, which she said she’d share with the cook. As she brought out the soup and salad items, she did let me know that most of the items had some type of dairy or meat product, so she didn’t want to bring it to me. After about an hour and thirty minutes, our cook arrived, but had to return to the kitchen for additional items. When he was fully prepared, he began cooking and put butter in my specifically vegan ordered hibachi veggies. I said oh no, I’m vegan. He asked my sister, how was he supposed to cook my food then. So as not to ruin the other guests experiences, I left the table to speak with the manager. He instead went to the table and spoke with my sister. When he came to the hostess stand, he let me know that he’d already spoken with someone at the table and would have my food cooked separately. I let him know that I felt dismissed and he said that he didn’t feel that there was anything for us to discuss. At that point, another manager approached. Her demeanor and interest in rectifying the situation was much better. She apologized and let me know that she’d be more than happy to have the meal cooked to my liking. While her efforts were appreciated, the other manager’s behavior was certainly rude, inappropriate, and I’m sure not up to or in the Benihana standards of operating procedures manual. This was the last trip to Benihana for my family and me.
The food was good and the chef did a nice job; however, it was Christmas so the skeleton crew was there. We had a very long wait for refills and even the check to arrive.
Terrible food. Bad service. Total fail. Did not have food listed on menu. All food served, including hot tea, was cold. I got the smallest portion of food. After I was finished with the meal, the waitress brought a bowl of cold rice. Just horrible. Will never return.
Everything was good. Nice server. Glad we made reservations.
Chef has great attitude and was personable and funny
The hostess and seating seemed unorganized. We were a little early for our reservation and still had to wait 30 minutes before we were seated. The table was crowded 9 people at 1 table is too many especially if you don’t know the people you’re sitting next to.
