Benihana - Anaheim Ratings and Reviews
Chef was sloppy. Bites too big to eat wo a knife. Food flew everywhere. Did not recv appetizers until mid meal. Crazy busy. Noisy. Waiter was polite. Front staff not friendly. They need smiling and hospitality training. Bigger tables needed. Not enough space to eat.
We have given this location three attempts to hopefully erase each preceding poor visit. Each time we have made a reservation, we haven’t been sat until a minimum of 30 minutes after our reserved time. This most recent visit, we were stuffed at a table with 8 other people, making it a total of nine at one table. Now that’d be acceptable, if we were the same party, but it’s kind of hard to enjoy your experience and you’re elbow to elbow with a complete stranger the whole time. Now the service, I’ll be brief. HORRIBLE. Slow, incorrect orders received, and overall uninviting. If you don’t enjoy taking orders and making sure peoples drinks aren’t empty then for the love of god do not become a server. If you get KEVIN, run.
The wait was too long even with a reservation. It look one hour to be seated.
After being seated, it look over 30 minutes for the chef to come to our table.
They were understaffed with only 3 tables being used. The other tables were empty and not being used.
The birthday picture or dessert was not offered.
We were there 2.5 hours which affected our work schedule.
Very very disappointed
We LOVE Anaheim Benihanas although we are closer to Downey. However this past Sunday we went for early Valentine's Day and the family across from us were very obnoxious. The husband permitted his kids to scream at the top of their lungs, the wife was not permitted to say anything, the 1 and 2 Year olds were spilling their drinks on the floor, throwing ice. Chef Garcia (poor thing) had to accommodate the man as he specifically didn't want his food to touch ours. I understand we cannot change seats just because of noisy kids or rude people but if the staff is well aware of what's happening at the table, then "we" should have been asked if we wanted to move... or say something to the guests causing the disturbance. I'll go back again but hopefully the manager can take initiative if this should arise again. We paid good money only to end up dissapointed.
We had a great time at Benihana in Anaheim for our sons birthday. The wait staff was attentive, continually refilling our hibiscus ice tea, clearing plates, and checking on our needs. The table chef was lively and entertaining. The complimentary photo was a nice touch for a special occasion.
Reservation was at 845. Wasn’t seated until after 9pm. Which is fine because I understand restaurants are busy. But I heard and witnessed people who had same reservation times as us who came in 15 minutes after us be seated before us.
Once we sat down it took 20 minutes (I kept track) for drinks to be ordered and served. We did not start eating until 30 minutes after we were sat.
I was only offered one refill and my second one did not come until desert was ordered and my food was cold. Mainly because the server did not come around to ask and when she finally did it took long.
We were disappointed in the value of our food. We have been to Benihana several times in the past and we were in town for a hockey game and event at angels stadium and wanted something different than other chain restaurants. My wife and I both ordered the chateaubriand because the menu made it sound so tasty. We were so disappointed as we got a very small amount of mushrooms on the side and not mixed in the meat with all the flavors. Our son had the regular filet mignon and we both wish we would have just ordered that for the price. There was nothing wrong with the food, but were just disappointed with the overall flavor given the cost.
Reservation was at 7:15 didn’t get seated until 8:30. Once orders were taken it took another 45 minutes before chef came to our table. We there for 4 hours, not the way I wanted to spend my birthday. I’ve been there before and this was a bad experience. Not sure if I will go back.
Food was good as was service. Only things that were off were the restaurant was kinda noisy and when we arrived, found out the restaurant was closing early due to a company event. We made reservations online so it did not let you know that ahead of time. Otherwise, we enjoyed our experience.
as you entered the restaurant it smelled awful. It smelled like dirty bathrooms (bathrooms are by the door). The place didn't look clean and it looked really worn out. Also our waitress took forever to bring the check, charge and meals and bring it back for signing. I was there with couple of co workers and we almost missed our 2:00 pm conference call because of waiting for so long. Overall I wouldn't recommend this particular location to anyone.
