Benihana - Anaheim Ratings and Reviews
Excellent dinner, food was superb. Have been to many teppanyaki places before, but this was 1st time at Benihana’s. They go the extra on their fried rice by adding chicken to it and their grilled zucchini was outstanding. I will definitely make this a regular stop every time we are in Anaheim.
We were seated in a timely manner after having made a reservation. We had problems printing the birthday club coupon. They tried to assist us which I found to be helpful. Our server was attentive and the chef was creative and funny. The food was tasty as were the mango green teas. It's become a tradition to go there for birthdays.
We have been going to Benihana for years and never did we realize that if someone has a food allergy, the order in which the chef cooks, is changed. While we didn't mind the order in which the food was cooked (all meat first, with rice being cooked last), we were a little upset that they didn't tell us that the family we sat with had a food allergy. When making reservations, I recommend adding something in the Special Request section, that states, do not sit with families that have food allergies. We had 6 in our party and could have taken the whole table by our selves, however the restaurant chose to sit us with a party of two with one person who had allergies. Other than that, the chef was great and everything was cooked to perfection!!
I am very upset by the experience I had at this location. I came for my 21st birthday and made a reservation for 2 people at 7:30pm. I arrived at 7:17 pm and the host told me it would be a couple of minutes. I found out that a 3rd person wanted to join us and the hostest called his manager and said they could add a 3rd person and I would have to wait an additional 5 minutes. It turned 7:50 and I still had not been sat. I asked the host what was taking so long since I made a reservation and they let me know they were running behind which is fine. It turned 8:30 and I still had not been sat. It turned 8:50 and at this point I was so mad and furious I wanted to cry. It was my 21st birthday and I was waiting for almost 1 hours and a half when I specifically made a reservation . I went up and asked what was going on. They let me know that they saw the "3rd person " come in at 8:24 pm so tahts when they put me on the waitlist. I told them the "3rd person" was here at 7:40 pm and the hostes told me it would only be an additional 5 minutes, not almost 2 hours! They let me know there was problems with some checks and I let them know then why are people with reservations at 8:15 getting in before I did? They simply kept repeating we would be next. After multiple other parties kept being passed, we finally went in at 9:03 pm , when I originally wanted in the door at 7:17 pm. I was so upset since it was my birthday and I spent almost 2hours in a waiting room. I had plans later that night that were ruined and had a meal that was dry and bland. I got home and cried. I am so upset by this experience. This place is suppose to provide a great experience, but it ruined my birthday. Please call me at 714 235 0394 for further questioning.
Went for my birthday, we are chefs tables members and I received a $30 voucher which is the best birthday club restaurant perk we have gotten.
Food and service was awesome. We were actually 30 minutes early but only waited5 or 10 minutes so that was nice Will definitely be back.
We arrived almost 30 minutes early and expected to wait. Party of three on a holiday Friday night. To our surprise, we were seated almost right away and only had a short wait while we perused the menu. Drink orders were taken first and arrived right away. The chef was very entertaining and handled special requests easily. There was a lot of food and it was well prepared. We were all stuffed. And because it was my wifes’ Birthday, free ice cream! All in all, a very special and memorable experience for us.
The first thing I noticed when I walked in was how crowded it was and the smoke. They need better decor and bigger vents. You will smell like Benihana when you are done. They crowd you into one table with barely any room to move. Hard to enjoyed your food that way. The food was ok. Nothing special. They over cooked my shrimp and steak. There were 3 other people at the table that ordered the filet but all the pieces came in different sizes (???). Not sure if I will be back anytime soon although it’s really close to where I live.
The tables are super cramped and service was slow. Nothing like eating a big meal and then waiting 10 minutes for your check when you asked them to rush it.
For the same money you can eat at Roy’s. Much better food, fantastic service and you don’t have to share a table/your personal space.
