Benihana - Anaheim Ratings and Reviews
The first thing I noticed when I walked in was how crowded it was and the smoke. They need better decor and bigger vents. You will smell like Benihana when you are done. They crowd you into one table with barely any room to move. Hard to enjoyed your food that way. The food was ok. Nothing special. They over cooked my shrimp and steak. There were 3 other people at the table that ordered the filet but all the pieces came in different sizes (???). Not sure if I will be back anytime soon although it’s really close to where I live.
The tables are super cramped and service was slow. Nothing like eating a big meal and then waiting 10 minutes for your check when you asked them to rush it.
For the same money you can eat at Roy’s. Much better food, fantastic service and you don’t have to share a table/your personal space.
Our reservation was set for 9:15 and we were waiting to be seated for about 30 minuets. Our reservation was set for 15 people but we down sized to 12 people and when they finally walked us to our table it was entirely too small, there wasn’t even enough room for us all to fit. After they moved us to another table it took about an hour for them to send a chef to our table. We had three people who ordered steamed white rice and only one person received their steamed white rice, the other two were given chicken fried rice. The waitress had a terrible attitude and provide poor service.
My family and I attended Benihana in Anaheim and we had a great time! Our chef fit the bill of a Japanese chef. He prepared our food with such care and style unique of a true teppenyaki chef. He took his time preparing our meal and gave us a unique show with some added surprises that we hadn't seen before.
Server took our drink order and then went on a 30 minute break. Follow up service was terrible. When server came back from break she still didn't keep an eye on our drinks. Food took too long to get and we ran out of water. Over all food was very good, cook was great! Waitress needs to pay more attention to table guests.
Celebrated a birthday, ordered some fried rice to go well before the end of the meal. Waitress disappeared after taking birthday picture, never returned. Waited until everyone else had left table, but no one noticed. Finally had to flag down a busboy to get the rice, waitress never showed up. Never got photo. Finished with us as soon as bill was presented. Would have left a smaller tip if I'd known we were going to be ignored for 25 minutes.
Food was fine but the front desk is terrible. Had a 6:00 reservation, waited 40 minutes when the youth at the desk said it would be 10 more minutes. When a manager walked up I asked why the wait was so long even with a reservation. He said I missed my time when I was there with the buzzer he gave me when I checked! Was finally seated an hour after my reservation time. So that frustration will end my dining at Benihana. The manager gave me a coupon for a free appetizer on my next visit...lol, no chance!
First time at this place, and I was very disappointed with the service we got. The entire time me and my family felt rushed to eat and get out. The server was very rude, and unpatient when asked to explain the menu. The quality of food was not equal to the price I payed. I would not recommend this location to anyone else.
Dinner was great however our waitress was extremely disrespectful. She pretty much only acknowledged my boyfriend and not myself or our children during the whole visit. At the end of dinner after we paid our bill she stood behind my boyfriend and put her hand on his shoulder as she asked if there was anything else she can do for us. I felt extremely disrespected as she had the nerve to do that in front of me and our three children.
