I went to take my toddler out on a date. No where on any media platform said that the restaurant was closed, considering we had eaten there about a month ago.
I was allowed to make a reservation, however when I got there, they were closed with the doors locked.
I was pretty peeved considering my son was so excited I was taking him here.
I made a reservation for lunch online for two people< was cerebrating a 50th BD of my friend & did get conformation by text
When we go there they said they are closed for Covid since Tuesday 17th Nov & I made the reservation on Wed 18th for Thursday 19
Why was I not informed It very embracing for me

My family and I will Never Dine at this Benihana's again!!! The only thing good was our Chef and the food. Service not even fair empty dish were left on table until my party and the other party had to say something about it. No refills were given or offer until we had to ask a different server to provide. When we ask our server what was going on we were told we weren't the only table he was attending. Yes we understand that but our food wasn't FREE and if we couldn't be attended then ask for help or get someone else!!!! We are very frequent at the Newport Beach Benihana unfortunately they were booked and that's the reason why we visited the Anaheim location for the first time and NEVER AGAIN....

Over all experience was great! I think this was the best Benihana experience I've ever had. We got seated right at our reservation time, food was great! Service was great! Everyone was very friendly and helpful from the hostess to our waitress, to our cook!

The only minor complaint I'd have is having a reservation and still be seated 25 minutes later. But Ray (server) and our chef were awesome!
As always the food and service were great but had to wait 40 mins in our car past our reservation time. Was never given an aprox time we would be waiting even though I asked twice.

Food and service excellent ...I was a bit shocked with the overall gratuity fee added to our bill over $80 between 2 checks (2 families) but definitely will be a factor next time we plan on going in for dinner
Everything was fantastic; our food was outstanding , our server, Brianna was excellent. Everyone seemed to have a good time. The only unpleasant part of the experience was the rude manager. He was very short with everyone he came in contact with, whether it was on the phone or people that walked in.
Our chef was very quiet and just went through the motions.... not very entertaining... but at least the food was good.
The chef's skills were great. My kids loved it. However the food was too salty and over peppered. And overpriced. Your paying for the name. People know Benihana and they are capitalizing on that. Will not be going back.
Went here and had a table of 5 plus my sister’s fam with a table of 5. We asked to be seated next to each other (even noted it on both reservations) and the hostess said no and was rude about it. I understand the procedures and process with Covid so we understood why but if she would have been nice about it, that would have been better. Someone needs to teach her to be better with customer service! With that being said, our service and food was delicious! Just teach your hostesses to be nice!

It was better than I remembered! After not being able to go for months. I finally got my birthday wish and came back to Benihana. We had a new Chef and Dustin did amazing! Bringing out tricks and jokes I hadn't seen or heard before!
Made reservations through open table and they text me when our table was ready. We were only 2 at the table therefor we got our food cooked real quick!
It was a late anniversary celebration, but completely warranted!
Me and my girlfriend loved the experience and our Teppanyaki chef, Dustin, was a delight!
It was like we were being served by a close friend!
It was quite nice to have the full table to ourselves!
Time flew by and the entire meal was done before I even knew it!

I had a great time.
We arrived 10 minutes before our reservation time. We were asked to sit in the bar to wait. We waited a good 15 to 20 minutes after our reservation time to get seated at the grill.
Morgan who was our server was excellent. Anything we needed she got right on it right away. We can not say anything negative about Morgan she's an excellent server.
However, our chef was horrible. He didn't completely clean the grill before cooking as there was some food left on the grill from the last use. He wasn't friendly and there wasn't much of a show. The only thing he did was spin an egg and do the heartbeat with the rice. While the last of the food was being cooked he was already cleaning the grill.
We have decided that our health is more important to us as the grill wasn't cleaned completely and we don't want to get sick. We felt ignored and will not be going back.

Excellent time. Birthday celebration. Go to Benihana often. Our chef (sorry didn’t get name) was the best we have ever had. Really made dinner fun.
Normally everything is great. But, this time we waited for quite a while for the soup and salad, the we were told our ticket was lost after waiting over an hour for our food asking for a manager. The chef did a very hurried presentation and the lobster was way smaller then in the past though the price was not.
It was bad from the start! We were there to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. The receptionist was rude to my daughter at check in ! Extremely un professional! We make it to our table, the waitress takes our order and we await our food. The chef cooks and serves us our food. We all ordered our fried rice and when he was done passing it out we were short one order. They tried blaming it on my youngest daughters child order. But after the waitress came back by they looked at the paper order and saw she did order fried rice and they did make the mistake and we were short an order. No worries they brought a new one from the kitchen. It was not the same and tasted nasty! Also the rice we we’re served was also over cooked and or cooked with to much water. The rice was very mushy and nasty! Even the chief said when he was cooking it he noticed it was not right! We have been coming here for many years usually monthly. Never experienced this before. We also did not receive or get out picture taken for my daughters birthday and That is what we get every year and she saves them all! 20 plus years of photos and now we just broke that streak! Very disappointing experience!
I actually enjoy dining in at 25% capacity due to COVID. it’s really quiet and more intimate. I can enjoy my dinner better with less crowds. The restaurant was excellent with safety measures and I felt safe and comfortable dining in. I appreciate that the chef had hand sanitizer in his cart and used it before he began. We went for my moms birthday and it was special. The chef was amazing and humorous. Food was perfect! I don’t think there was any negative thoughts I have for last nights dinner. We ALWAYS love going to Benihana and can’t wait to go for my birthday in a few months! Go Benihana!
