Benihana - Anaheim
Celebrating a birthday
Best Benihana experience ever! The chef was amazing — very entertaining (we saw tricks we had never seen before). And the food was truly delicious!
The food was fantastic and the service was outstanding as well.
Friends/coworker and her new husband’s one year anniversary. Chef Justin and our server Joanna were very attentive, and provdided excellent presentation and service. We all had the Splash n Meadow, as well as two cocktails each. Great value meal! The three of us have not been to a Benihana since the late ‘80s and early ‘90s. I miss the bean sprouts and we all miss the Buddha glasses... but other than that we had a wonderful evening!
Our cook was very entertaining and created a great ambiance. He made us laugh. Our server was attentive.
Great place for first time experience. Great for anniversary and the chef and staff were just phenomenal. I will come by again soon
Great customer service great food and had a really great time there
I have been to many place of this type of food and style of cooking. The show is very scripted and routine. Seems more like a move the people in and out ASAP. Taking plates away while food still on them . Inexperienced cooks. Food over cooked and rubbery as well over priced.
Asian lady bar tender charged us full price premium cocktails 5 minutes before happy hour started. She should have suggested that we wait 5 minutes to get the happy hour price: 50% off. Since she didn’t, it left a very bad “taste” in our mouths for the rest of the evening.
Who doesn’t want 50% off premium cocktails?
The service was very slow, the restaurant is in need of an upgrade, and the bathrooms was a disaster of a mess! Food was mediocre
We were seated in less than 10 minutes of arriving. The staff was very friendly and our order was exactly
how we wanted it. Fun evening.
WORST Serrvice Ever !!!. Manager Amir Maleki was rude and impolite. Service was sooo slow and they did not even have proper food. Place ran out of rice so people had to eat all meats first and then got to eat fried rice by themselves at the end rather than the meal. Worst of all no mention from the managers not any apologies. Only rudeness and attitude as if they were doing a favor by even giving the rice at the end. Will never go back to this Benihana. They are losing business daily with the poor service and management there. Will never go back nor recommend anyone to go back. Managers being rude to guests when it was their fault is unacceptable and shows lack of care for the customer. With hundreds of choices and lots of Teppanyaki restaurants open now, why give your business to a place that doesn't care for their customers.
Had a reservation and still had to wait to be buzzed for our seats. Which is kind of annoying. Our server seemed to be overwhelmed as she kept forgetting requests. The manager came by and asked some people if they needed anything, but not everyone. We had to flag him down to request he send over our server so we could order drinks. He ended up taking our drink orders and then because he didn’t write anything down, forgot one of the orders. Our chef was fun and entertaining. Food was delicious as always.
We sat at table 18, the exhaust hood was not working, all the fumes and vapor was going into our faces and we kept breathing all that, causing irritating eyes and coughing, plus the smell of garlic which is so penetrating into our clothes and my wife's purse, very annoying and bad experience. Other tables did not have this problem.
I don't understand how they use this table if they know the customer experience is not good at all. Just want to keep making money without being considerate of the customers.
Our cook Sunny maybe Sonny. Sorry if I got it work. Was AMAZING!!!!! From the second he got to our table the show started till the end. Best show ever. The food was cooked just right. Going to have to request him from now on.
its all good its all good its all good its all good its all good
Our chef Dustin was new yet well trained and fun. Everyone’s meal Was cooked to specifications our lobster and scallops were superb. Steaks were flavorful and juicy. The $30.00 birthday coupon is generous and covered the cost of one 5 course meal completely.
The chief was very entertaining and did a great job of getting everyone’s order correct which made it an enjoyable experience
We love Benihana. The only thing we don't like is to have to pay 4.50 for fried rice and get a small amount in the bowl. Rice does not cost that much and the small amount of chicken that is in the rice does not add up to 4.50. At least have a larger bowl or fill the rice bowl up
I've been to Benihana many times and can honestly say Chef Champ and Waitress Sonia made this particular experience, my 31st birthday, the very best Benihana experience I have ever had!!! THANK YOU!!!
Birthday , great service
I realize it gets very hot in there, but we were seated in one of the back tables and it was freezing just on us. Is there a way you can fix the air conditioning so that it distributes better throughout the whole facility? We had great service and chef. Thank you!
Don't request private room. Cook was new and had no idea in what order to sever the food. Plus we had to request our server to get water which is unacceptable. 1. the waiter was guaranteed a tip so he took his time on serving us, not good! Tip was over $60 something i never would have given on the service we received. Food was not cooked to our liking and bill was over $400. I will never consider having another family birthday here.
The wait for our chef was almost an hour. Too long for a weekday visit.
This restaurant was a HUGE let down came here for my girlfriends 22nd birthday not a great experience at all
Reservation for 8. The worst table in the house boxed in behind the wine rack. Can hardly breathe.
Service out of order. Fried rice served after all meats was consumed. On top of all they force you to tip 18%.
Good food, great service, we love this place! Come here several times a year
Flavor of food very good. Performance of chef very good. Portion were cut too large to expedite consumption. Service was horrible. Tried to hurry dinner to get another group in. One party ate very fast and the waitress tried to take dessert orders before the remaining 6 people had not completed half of their dinner. I asked if she could slow down so we could finish our dinner. She brought checks before getting our dessert. Had two cooks at same time so cooks bumped into each other. So Sad.
we went to celebrate my daughters birthday and they were awesome wt the free bday-ice cream and even gave us a free family pic
This is okay, service was slow, food was good, bill was big.
Great food, fun place - but not what it used to be. Chefs don't seem to have the same pride in their skills, service from wait staff seems rushed and they make quite a few mistakes. Just seems to be missing something in the entertainment aspect of dining there now.
I don’t understand why you get put together when you’re only 2 people and I specified it was a date .... i thought they would maybe put us in a different place it was not busy or anything. It was awkward. The people we shared the table with were very obnoxious and it ruined the experience. We walked out paying over $150 for a mediocre time
For the first time ever of many years of going to Benihana's we got seated in the small room that opens to the hallway towards the main dining room! It was so much nicer because it keeps the noise level way down so you can talk to each other. I love Benihana's, but it is difficult to talk across the table in the main dining room, it's all open and with the cooking, the fans & everyone at all the different tables trying to talk, it's difficult. Food was great as usual, and our Teppan chef was very funny and talented. The only reason for 4 overall stars is that we made reservations on Open table for 7:15 pm and didn't get seated until 7:45! That's why we make reservations. They overbooked.
A family favorite & must for a birthday celebration. Server was helpful prompt & even held our cake in the fridge for our birthday celebration, and hibachi chef was awesome. We had a gluten-free order, and he made the order quickly and effortlessly. Food was prompt. Overall A+ from our family!
Not at this point Newport Beach has better chiefs ...
Our chef Hector was awesome! Thank you. Birthday celebration accomplished.
complete waste of money.
Dry rice, dry chicken, dry steak, dry scallops.
Rice was the most unbearable part - felt like eating sand.
Took forever to get food, too.
