Bengal Tiger Restaurant
Great food, great service, a little expensive but I guess it is London. Would I go back? Yes I would.
We had a table of 20 for a business dinner -made to feel welcome - great service for the whole night - great food - everyone left with nothing but high praise for the place.
Highly recommend !
I was disappointed overall with my meal and the service this time... we visited at xmas and had a better experience. The restaurant was quiet at 12 noon on a Monday in January to be expected. we only had poppadoms and main course ... the main course was very slow coming out.
My tarka dhal was very very small and dry. My chicken dhansak was way too spicy for dhansak.. I was hoing to order jalfrezi as enjoyed at xmas but thought I'd settle for dhansak on a Monday lunchtime .. it was way hotter than the jalfrezi ... 12.6% service charge for what was experienced was steep
Food was delicious - service excellent!
Excellent food, tasteful design to the restaurant. 12.5% service charge a bit much given the number of call overs.
Good curry, reasonably priced, lots of variety in the menu.
My experience with Bengal Tiger did not start with a positive note. We were left standing whilst 3 staff members who discussed openly (amongst themselves) about some issue regarding seating plan. As a vegetarian, food was basic. Service a huge let down, I was provided with a dirty plate, which I had to query with waiter, who simply stated it was just popadoms!!! Unbelievably, I had to say that I wanted a fresh clean plate. If you have expections of receiving a decent meal, with amazing and professional service, AVOID!!! Would I recommend this restaurant to anyone- No! Would I visit vit again..... certainly not! Do not go in with any expectations, as most likely it will be a huge didsapointment
Lovely restaurant, great ambience and food.
The food and restaurant were very good. The service was a bit slow and confused. The price was very high.
The service was warm, humorous and friendly, but the kitchen let them down: I cannot say that the quality of the food at Bengal Tiger merits the accolades it receives because the flavours were nothing special. I was there with my curry club -Tamils, Singaporean, Pakistanis representing at the table- and whilst we enjoyed our night, we all agreed the food was disappointing. The lamb chops we had were some of the chewiest and least aromatic I've tasted. It's a shame that there was not at least one dish that we could point to that would merit having it again. On the other hand, the restaurant itself has a great ambience. Maybe we were unlucky.
Food was good but we felt that we were doing them a favour being there!
Staff were not friendly.
The food was not exceptional, so I would take my business elsewhere next time.
Great food as always, was a Monday night so a bit quiet, but always a City favourite. Would definitely recommend
The service my family and I received at this restaurant was bad to the point of comedy. I'm not sure what triggered our 'hosts' into their fit of passive-aggressive nonsense, maybe because we weren't city types blowing our hospitality expenses budget, but we were subjected to a barrage of childish abuses.
The food is typical British high street 'Indian' (staff are Bangladeshi) clichés. Nothing authentic or original.
If the serving staff feel licence to act the way they did to paying customers then the mind can only boggle at what is going on in the kitchen.
The staff also felt entitled to add a 12% service charge to our bill, which to my mind constitutes theft as absolutely no service was provided.
Avoid this scammy, rude place and their delusions of grandeur. Pathetic.
Great service and great food but on the pricey side. £42 a head for a main plus rice; one and a half beers; shared starters and poppadoms.
Good, reasonably priced curry (for this part of London), with some interesting things on the menu as well as staples. Good and pretty efficient service. Ideal after a couple of beers! Very good all round
Lovely food and good service
I felt that the staff were very attentive, being kind and courteous. The food was excellent with suitable portions. My only wish is that we were hungrier to eat all that was served.
Decent Indian food, some unusual dishes. Service was impersonal and not particularly attentive, but we liked our dishes enough to recommend to travelers in the area
This is an excellent restaurant- delicious food, nice atmosphere, good service and pretty good value. I love coming here!
A wonderful Saturday night curry after a long train journey really hit the spot. My only complaint was that the sole cider on offer was Magners!!!
Was simple easy to book and food was nice very traditional would recommend to anyone in area
It felt like staff were trying to rush out of the restaurant.
I didnt finish my starter nor main as the gentleman kept coming over to ask if i had finished.
The mixed starter platter is very tasty and good value. The mains and side dishes are good. My only complaint is the 12% service charge that was added to the bill. I prefer to decide on what size tip to give.
A very nice restaurant hidden behind a couple of side streets near St Paul’s Cathedral. The food is Mughlai, with the general assortments of Jalfrezi, Balti, and Butter varieties but the difference here is that it’s Mughlai done right. The Naans are buttery soft, the lamb and chicken dishes are delicious and the service is great too! A little on the pricey side but expected given its location. Overall a very nice restaurant.
Food is ok, don’t really like their services, did not feel warm and welcoming
Food is just about ok, but too expensive for what it is. Staff very poor in communication and too rude.
Overall quite a good find but the whole vibe was around making us spend. Wine glasses permanently filled to the brim and overcharged on items like rice etc which wasn’t noticed until we left.
We stumbled into The Bengal Tiger hungry and ready for something warming and tasty - we got exactly that and more... the service and the wine were lovely compliments to our food.
Will definitely visit again 🍷
Great food and service
Good food, variety and service.
Would happily recommend.
Warm welcome - good variety of classic dishes executed well. Very clean - well stocked bar. Good selection of side options - slightly more expensive but ok
Bengal Tiger was recommended to us by a friend, and we were so pleased! We were the only ones in the restaurant upon arrival, but it quickly filled up and there wasn't an empty table in sight! It's in such a convenient location, and the staff is lovely. Definitely recommend! :)
Well prepared and good quality food with efficient waiters and plenty of cold beer!!
We are never disappointed with the food served at the Bengal Tiger. We do, however, find some of the waiters a little 'unrefined' when serving but it does not spoil our evening. We will return again.
Perfect for after work with colleagues. Attentive service and delicious food.
Amazingly empty for a Friday evening until a group of foreign schoolkids turned up! Food was good and service fairly quick and I enjoyed my Chicken tikka starter that was more moist than many. Lamb Sag main was plentiful and tasty. Overall good but very expensive compared to some other good Curry Houses.
Great food and excellent service.
Very welcoming venue, very good for any occasion
Excellent food at a consistent high quality. The guests I invited all commented favorably on this. Attentive waiter service without being too obvious.
Food was very good, however this was let down by the service. They were in a hurry with everything. Just seemed they wanted us out the door as soon as possible. As an example, at the end of meal we were asked if we'd like more drinks and we said not right now. Next thing is we get the bill. We had not asked for it and probably would have had more drinks. Probably won't go there again.
