Benevento's Ratings and Reviews
It’s a great little restaurant that I love to go back to. They have excellent gluten free options. Perfect for date night or dinner before an event at the garden. It can be a little cramped in the front section but totally worth it. I recommend making a reservation for weekends.
BENEVENTOS HAS GREAT FOOD, GREAT ATMOSPHERE, AND GREAT PEOPLE! I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE WHO LOVES ITALIAN FOOD. ALSO, THEY CAN MAKE ALMOST ANY DISH OR PIZZA GLUTEN FREE IF YOU HAVE AN ALLERGY LIKE MYSELF. THEY WERE VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND IF THEY DON'T THE ANSWER THEY WILL FIND OUT FROM THE CHEF. GREAT EXPERIENCE. 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We were seated in the basement in tight quarters, at a table too small for two people. Busboys were brushing by us every few minutes on their way to the kitchen, so close that we literally moved our drinks to the opposite end of the table so they wouldn't be knocked over. The food was decent and not too expensive but nothing special. Upstairs was a better environment but they should not seat people in the basement.
So upon arriving there was a large crowd of people gathered at the door, when I managed to push my way to the front and tell the host I had a reservation, he nodded and walked away, no estimated time to be seated. Waited for 15 mins and went to ask again and see if I could just get a seat for my wife who's 8.5 months pregnant so she doesn't have to stand while we wait. He again asked if I had a reservation and then said "one moment" and walked away. Waited for another 10 mins and decided to go elsewhere. Don't think I'll be coming back or recommending this place to anyone
The dinners were delicious, not the problem. I made a reservation weeks before the date to celebrate my daughters birthday. The problem was we were seated downstairs, which looked more like a storage basement! Very dull and no decor, the kitchen was only divided by a curtain, we were seated at bottom of staircase where bus boys were continuaously squeezing by with containers of dirty dishes, very unappetizing. Was very disappointed since we did make a reservation in advance and I kept hearing the hostess ask walk ins as we were waiting to be seated, that do they mind sitting downstairs....never checked with us to see if that was ok. Felt like we were herded in and out like cattle! Would not go back, there are tons of places to choose from in Boston, this is not one of them.
First things the food was absolutely delicious- we had a pizza and the grilled fig salad- both were delicious! We had a 8:30 reservation and there seemed to be a lot of chaos around seating and several parties from the line waiting out side were seated ahead of us. Two couples who came in after us took bar seats before I spoke up to ask if we could just sit at the bar. Reservations should either. It be accepted at busy times or honored.
We usually have a wonderful dining experience here. On this night, even though we had a reservation we had to wait for 39-40 min, got seated in a crowded , busy area, first order of food was not what we ordered and when the correct meal arrived , it was over cooked and not good. They only charged us for 1 meal but still very disappointing .
We had a reservation for 7:00. When we showed up, the man at the door was incredibly rude, and told us he'd sit us in 25 to 30 minutes. When we pointed out that we had a reservation, he said yes, if we didn't we would have to wait an hour. We had something planned for after dinner and had to run around to find another restaurant. This is not how you conduct business. Horrible place.
This place has always been our go to place when we visit Boston. We have visited many times and have always enjoyed our overall experience. We were somewhat disappointed by the noise and language that we were exposed to. We were seated in the basement between 2 bachellorette parties. Holy loud! Clearly the girls didn't notice they didn't have a place to themselves. We were relieved when they left, however immediately after their table was cleared another group of at least 15 girls were seated. Celebrating a 21st bday. We did not complain, after all they were celebrating :) My only suggestion in the future would be to keep the large parties downstairs and seat the smaller parties upstairs. That way we can all find the experience we are looking for.
WE ate here on a busy Saturday night(a group of 6) We were seated right around our reservation time. Since we arrived about an hour early, we waited at the bar for a drink and awesome bruschetta!! The bartender was great! She was multitasking between about four or five tasks but was very attentive to us. Everything we ordered was delicious. We all enjoyed our meals. For appetizers we had Shrimp Grand Marnier(my favorite) and lobster ravioli(my daughters favorite). They were fabulous!! Our meals were delivered timely and hot. We had Shrimp and Scallops a la Beneventos, Pasta Beneventos, Gnocchis, Chicken Parm and Veal Saltimbocca. All were delicious. The owner was very personable and checked in on us a few times. We will definitely be back and highly recommend that anyone give it a try for authentic Northend cuisine.
I was recommended here, and so happy with my choice. They sat 9 of us at 5pm , as scheduled, which was very important, we had tickets to a concert at TD Garden for 7pm. They were so friendly and polite. Samantha was fantastic and very attentive. We enjoyed everything about this place. We will be back soon. Loved it.
Was back in home in our favorite city and had to get to the North End for a special dinner with great friends and Benevento's was the perfect dinner spot. Awesome authentic Italian food, was served fresh and hot, amazing flavor, very good wine and a great staff that made us all feel welcome and special. We will recommend and definitely make this a consistent stop every time we are in Boston and the North End! Memorable in every way, atmosphere, location and especially the outstanding food.
I needed to find a resaonably priced place in the North End with a good variety of Italian food on the menu that also took reservations. The occasion was a college reunion of friends dropping off their children to college. Benevento's had extra tables in the basement which resulted in our party of 10 having our own private dining area. The service was great-our waitress was patient with us as we hesitated ordering appetizers and drinks until we figured out the status of 2 members of our party. After we did order, our drinks and food came quickly. We ordered 3 different salads , Caesar, Caprese and House, all of which were good (esp the Caprese). We then shared 3 pizzas between 8 and 2 shared the fried calmari and a pasta dish. We had a chicken cutlet pizza; vegetarian (onions, mushrooms and more) and a sausage pizza all 3 were flavorful and fresh. Portions were ample. The upstairs ambiance looked nice. I would recommend Benevento's for a casual, delicious Italian meal.
Made a reservation online but we ended up waiting for a while to be seated (approximately 30 mins). It was during Saint Anthony's Feast so it was quite a busy area so I can understand. The food was OUTSTANDING! Price was reasonable. Would definitely recommend to a friend.
