We made a reservation two days prior for a group of 6. When we arrived at our reservation time, we were told to wait at least a half hour. After a half hour (past our reservation time) we saw that our table was given away to people who knew the workers. We were then told that we must wait at least another half hour (1 hour past our reservation). We were told that they could seat 4 out of 6 of our party but the other two would have to wait until tables opened next to the table which would likely be another half hour. We left very upset and disappointed. They didn’t seem to care that we had made reservations or that they lost us as customers. We went to a great place across the street who took us right in and explained that customers are often treated that way at Beneventos and walk across the street to dine with them. I’ve been to Beneventos at least 10 other times and it was my favorite place in the North End. However, I will not return because they treated us horribly.
Overall it was really good. I was a little disappointed when the appetizer came out it was very small and barely still warm. Entrees were big but again not really hot when they were put on the table.
Seating in basement next to bathroom. Smell was rough.
Very Disappointed! We were seated in a hallway which was very unappealing! It was not a good experience!
Service was excellent. We enjoyed the food, which I would rate above average. My chicken parm was good, though I've had better. Nice wine choices.
We were seated in the basement section, next to the restroom. We ordered a variety of dishes, from pasta fagioli to fettuccine vongole. Everything was bland. I was disappointed after reading great reviews on this place. My advice is to try somewhere else in the North End.
Our waitress was amazing! Front of the house wasn’t great. We got seated at 6:45 for 6:00 reservations and a table of four with 6:30 reservations got seated before us. Their rational was that they arrived first, but we were on time for 6:00 and had earlier reservations.
Fantastic meal at a fantastic price. Knowledgeable staff and extremely attentive.
Small limited spacing in the Italian area of Boston. No parking. Good food. Reasonable prices
Very gluten free friendly! It was extremely loud in the corner of the restaurant we were seated in, but other than that the service and food was excellent!
Great food! Crowded, noisy, we were seated in the basement by the bathroom which was odd.
One if our favorites in the North End. My wife and daughter have celiac so they are gluten free, Beneventos is great for them. Great to food, good price!
Fabulous dinner. Our client who has immediate family from Italy can be critical - he raved about the quality & taste of the pizza. Very accommodating for gluten free diners - the gluten free gnocchi were delicious! Great dining experience!
Food was excellent. We ordered pizza with sweet sausage and peppers. Daughter ordered penne ala vodka.
It’s a great little restaurant that I love to go back to. They have excellent gluten free options. Perfect for date night or dinner before an event at the garden. It can be a little cramped in the front section but totally worth it. I recommend making a reservation for weekends.
Love it here! I love the pizza, from the toppings to the sauce to the crust. The drinks are also great and the atmosphere is just right and not too formal.
My coworkers and I decided to go out after work and we are very happy we chose Beneventos. Our table was ready on time when we arrived. The food was delicious. We all choose different options and everyone was very happy. We look forward to our next visit.
Very nice casual atmosphere. The menu is varied and the food was delicious. Pasta and sausage made inhouse Nice variety in the wine list. Overall I thought FHT the prices were reasonable. Our service was excellent. I'd go back again.
Our server was good but other staff were not as kind and food was good.
Always great good
Neighborhood gem in the North End.
Love the food, atmosphere and staff. This was our thing time eating here and each time we have had nothing but great food and great service!
The food was just ok.
The fresh pasta is AMAZING! On a busy night there is seating in the basement, I would recommend making a reservation in advance and requesting first floor seating.
BENEVENTOS HAS GREAT FOOD, GREAT ATMOSPHERE, AND GREAT PEOPLE! I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE WHO LOVES ITALIAN FOOD. ALSO, THEY CAN MAKE ALMOST ANY DISH OR PIZZA GLUTEN FREE IF YOU HAVE AN ALLERGY LIKE MYSELF. THEY WERE VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND IF THEY DON'T THE ANSWER THEY WILL FIND OUT FROM THE CHEF. GREAT EXPERIENCE. 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The vodka sauce with homemade pasta was to die for and likely one of the best espresso martinis I've had. It was a bit crowded and noisy but cannot be helped being that good and a Saturday night ;).
Very nice restaurant. Excellent service and outstanding gluten free options. Homemade pasta was divine and the pizza was also excellent. We will definitely return for another meal next time we're in Boston.
We were seated in the basement in tight quarters, at a table too small for two people. Busboys were brushing by us every few minutes on their way to the kitchen, so close that we literally moved our drinks to the opposite end of the table so they wouldn't be knocked over. The food was decent and not too expensive but nothing special. Upstairs was a better environment but they should not seat people in the basement.
We received a recommendation for great Boston Italian food. We were disappointed as the food was not exceptional and the space was very tight and loud. There are so many other choices in the same area and I wish we would have checked around first.
So upon arriving there was a large crowd of people gathered at the door, when I managed to push my way to the front and tell the host I had a reservation, he nodded and walked away, no estimated time to be seated. Waited for 15 mins and went to ask again and see if I could just get a seat for my wife who's 8.5 months pregnant so she doesn't have to stand while we wait. He again asked if I had a reservation and then said "one moment" and walked away. Waited for another 10 mins and decided to go elsewhere. Don't think I'll be coming back or recommending this place to anyone
